International event - October 11th, 2026

October 7th, 2026: 3 years of a war of extermination and the deepening of genocide by Zionism and the US imperialist against the Palestinian people

While US imperialism attacks Iran, the clerics brutally attack the labor movement in order to negotiate a role for themselves as the enforcers for imperialist oil companies in the Middle East.

Morad from IRMT in the International Event held by FLTI

Hello, comrades. Thank you very much for inviting us, the Iranian Revolutionary Marxists Tendency, to your meeting.
I'm going to talk basically about the third front, because this is our position going back many years.
Our position basically goes back to especially when our comrades were in Iran during the revolution and Iraq, this is the Saddam regime that was backed by imperialists, attacked Iran. And a lot of people, especially the Stalinist, ended up supporting the Iranian regime because they thought they were revolutionary somehow or somehow anti-imperialist and they basically betrayed the working class.
And this has been our position, also in other wars where, for example, when the US attacked Iraq in 1991 or other wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and so on. So a lot of the positions go back to references to Trotsky and Lenin or Marx from a long time ago, which do not apply to current situation, and people end up supporting an oppressed nation, whereas they ignore the class struggle and the class perspective, the strategy of the working class in somewhere like Iran.
When the Saddam regime, the Ba'athist regime, attacked Iran in September 1980, the position that our comrades took, because there was a situation where you had factories occupied by workers, our position was that workers should demand weapons from the regime so that they could defend their own factory. If  the regime saying "We're in danger, we have to fight," they say, we say, "Give us the weapons, we arm ourselves, we we defend our factories, workers' classes, neighborhoods, and everything that the working class depends on."

So, we had the classic type of Stalinist and reformist chauvinism, where one of those Stalinist groups even asked workers to raise production to help the war effort. But this time we have new types of chauvinism and betrayal of the working class.
This time, we already had the war in June 2025 and there was also an exchange of missiles for the war in Gaza in October 2024. At that time, the Workers Communist Party of Iran (there are many so-called Workers Communist Parties in Iran, but this refers to one of them, the leader) said that if imperialism attacks the regime, this can help the people overthrow the government because the revolutions in the past had started with the war and they could be victorious. They said “any blow to the Iranian Republic helps the people to overthrow the regime because revolutions started with conditions of war”. So basically they were saying that imperialism would help defeating the regime.
There are also five Kurdish organizations that currently have connections with the Americans or Mossad. One of the main ones, Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan, even urged Trump that it would be in the best interest of the United States to enter in direct dialogue even with components of the Iranian opposition. And there are many rumors whether the CIA or Mossad are arming the Kurdish groups.
So this time we have a clearly pro-imperialist front in this war.

And this time, as well as the classic Stalinist position of being social chauvinist and siding with their own bourgeoisie, these type of groups are very small now, but we have a new type of uh pro-regime front.
This time, what we have is called the axis of resistance left. This is a tendency that for the last 10-12 years has been growing among the students in Iran, university students in Iran, and has been boosted by the Gaza war. These people see the main contradiction in geopolitics as between a Hamas, Hezbollah, Iranian regime on one side and on the other side Zionism and US imperialism.
So although they admit that this is a reactionary regime and it's regressive and some of them have been imprisoned by this regime at some point, they think that resistance to it is a secondary matter. The main thing is for the nation to fight against imperialism.
And they are very skilled, they use a lot of philosophical terms, but basically this is a reactionary policy. So those are the two pro-capitalist fronts or blocks.

We consistently at all times support the third front, whether there’s peace, cold war, hot war or a truce, we support the working class and all the oppressed and exploited layers in Iran to fight against this regime as a capitalist regime and of course imperialism and Zionism and all the reaction forces in the region.
At no point has this regime, in any way, repressed the masses any less. The repression has been stepped up and millions of workers have been laid-off because there's a war. There’s a lot of inflation going on, with very high prices, something around 200%, 300%, with some food and cooking materials going up 200 or 300 or more percent.
And if we look within one year, the Iranian masses had two imperialist wars and a much more deadly war with their own capitalist oligarchy. There was a massive repression. In January 2026the regime killed something like 40000 of its own citizens... in three days. This is more than imperialism has done. Imperialism must have killed them about 4000.

Class war is the most important thing for us today and also it was before the war and it's going to be after the war. The class war is the most important thing.
This is because we think the proletarian revolution is an actuality. It's something that can happen in Iran. It's just the one main thing that's missing. And based on the experience of the past 50 years where you have proletarian vanguard built factory committees, there was workers control over production and in some places distribution, this is part of the heritage of the Iranian working class. It's a living memory. It's a real thing they can depend on, to build on.
So the main thing that's missing is a revolutionary party of the vanguard of the working class, and this is what we are trying to build based on clandestine committees, especially in Khuzestan, in the oil and gas industries of the south. There is already at least one cell that produces a regular paper, and we are helping them to post transitional demands, which are demands that cannot be realized within the capitalist system and they start at the level of consciousness at the present time and try to link to the next level of struggle and consciousness with the overall strategy as the final aim, which is the proletarian seizure of power.
And the third front is one of those important transitional demands that we're posing, so that the vanguard workers there can talk about this to the other workers, the rest of the workers within the oil and gas and petrochemical industries, and that is one way of undermining this regime's nationalism and reactionary ideas, and also of course the ideas of imperialism and Zionism, basically against both capitalist camps that are bringing this hell of death and destruction to the region.
Thank you very much.
