October 7th, 2026: 3 years of a war of extermination and the deepening of genocide by Zionism and the US imperialist against the Palestinian people

Statement by Claudia Pafundi, of the International Network for the Freedom of Political Prisoners and Justice for Our Martyrs

Good afternoon. My name is Claudia Pafundi, I am a member of the Committee for the Convicted Workers of Las Heras, along with their families and friends.
We speak today from an Argentina governed by Milei—a servant of Trump and an accomplice to the genocide in Palestine, carried out by US imperialism  and its Zionist henchman. We denounce the fact that, while US imperialists seek to establish military bases in Ushuaia and Buenos Aires, the Argentine Armed Forces—steeped in the legacy of the Videla dictatorship—have signed an agreement for cooperation and the exchange of equipment with Israel. This serves only to arm them to the teeth, acting as mercenary proxies for imperialism and its "Shield of the Americas." From Alaska to Patagonia: one single enemy, one single struggle that transcends all borders!

We have stood with the Palestinian cause since 2013, when a court—operating under the legacy of the Videla dictatorship—sentenced our comrades to life imprisonment for their participation in a massive 2006 oil workers' strike against wage taxes and the erosion of labor conditions.
It remains etched in our memories and hearts that, on the day the sentences were handed down, our comrade Samer Al-Issawi and other political prisoners from occupied Jerusalem held a hunger strike in solidarity with us. Georges Abdallah—a fighter for the Palestinian cause who spent 40 years in prison in France—and Basque political prisoners did the same. Together with them and dozens of labor organizations from around the world, we established the International Network for the Freedom of Political Prisoners and Justice for Our Martyrs.
We call for standing up in solidarity with the Iranian workers and for the unconditional release of oil worker leader Yaser Ahmadinejad, as well as all labor and grassroots activists held in the prisons of the Ayatollahs. It is the Iranian workers and the exploited—joining forces with their siblibgs in Palestine and throughout the Middle East—the only ones that will be able to defeat imperialism!

Freedom for Dr. Hassam Abu Safiya and the more than 10,000 political prisoners held in the prisons of the Zionist regime! Down with the death sentences that the Zionist occupier’s justice system seeks to impose upon Palestinian prisoners!
We continue to fight for the safe return alive of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa—disappeared by the Mexican State and its army—and for justice for those massacred in Senkata and Sacaba, Bolivia, in 2019, as well as for those killed or detained under the current administration in Bolivia. We demand justice for the martyrs of Juliaca and all those massacred during the uprisings in Peru, and for those who fell or were maimed while serving on the "front lines" (Primera Línea) in  Plaza de la Dignidad in Chile and in Colombia. In Argentina, we fight for the freedom of Milton Tolomeo and Eneas Gallo—imprisoned for opposing backtracking labor reforms—as well as Naum Vargas, jailed for his participation in the "Chubutazo" protests; for the release of Mapuche leader Facundo Jones Huala, and for all others who are imprisoned or persecuted for their activism.

Long live the youth and workers of the United States who are fighting for Palestine and rising up in defense of migrants—people being deported and imprisoned by ICE, Trump’s new Gestapo! Freedom for all those imprisoned in the United States for their just struggles!
Long live the youth of Mexico who, on the anniversary of the Tlatelolco Massacre, raised Palestinian flags alongside the demand for justice for the 43 disappeared students! In France, Belgium, Spain, and throughout Europe, Palestinian flags are also being raised in the struggle against these imperialist governments. Therein lie our most powerful allies!
Let us follow the example of the port workers in Italy, who shut down their ports in opposition to the genocide in Gaza and have called for a strike beginning October 30th! Onward to an international general strike!

For the destruction of the Zionist-fascist State of Israel! Free Palestine, from the River to the Sea!
The rebellion of the slaves is no crime—IT IS JUSTICE!
