Zimbabwe - September 22nd, 2020
In the hands of the military dictatorship and imperialist plunder, Zimbabwe and its exploited classes plunge into hunger, misery and death, without education or health
Enough!
Out with the military dictatorship! Out with the IMF!
Let capitalists pay for the crisis
General strike!
The trade union and student bureaucracies of the ZCTU, PTUZ and ISO must break all their pacts with MDC and boss political parties and be at the head of the working class struggle. The workers movement must go out to combat for the revolutionary general strike in order to get food, recover the land, decent wages and for all to have decent work. The struggle for better wages is won in the street not on negotiations. It’s necessary that the civil servants unite with the vendors, private sector, mines and farm workers and make it a single fight.
Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe is demanding US$520 salaries from Mnangangwa’s ZANU PF government. Teachers takke risks teaching at educational institutions where they cannot afford to send even their own children like the Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) has told.
The country’s teachers have traditionally bemoaned the meagre salaries they have been getting from their employer and have also expressed their dissent in many occasions.
The PTUZ implored on Mnangagwa and his Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube to consider their plight and start paying them salaries in foreign currency with the lowest paid teacher getting US$520- US dollar.
Nowadays, the lowest salary of teachers is 3000 Zimbawean dollars which is the equivalent of just 30 US dollars.
The average salary of all Zimbabwean workers is on the ground, true unemployment exceeds 85% (according to estimates) and 70% of the population lives below the poverty line (which is around 18,000 Zimbabwean dollars or US $ 180). In addition to this, the cases of Covid-19 have passed 7700 in the country and it is estimated that there are more, since only those who have managed to be treated in hospitals that are collapsed due to other diseases and without drugs to function are registered. The situation in Zimbabwe cannot be held any longer! It is time to end hunger, plunder, exploitation and repression! It is time for the capitalists to pay for the crisis!
The Chinese companies that have settled in Zimbabwe impose working conditions for the workers, as do the imperialist companies and the native bourgeoisies: child labor, wage cuts and non-payment of wages, lack of safe working conditions. All the exploited Zimbabweans receive in their bones and blood the voracity of the native and foreign bosses, those who plunder the nation, imposing the worst miseries on the workers. The IMF has subjected our country to the worst looting and robbery.
Enough of collaborationist union bureaucracies! Let’s return to the road of 2019-general strike!
Those at the top have taken everything from us, now let's get back everything that is ours
The union bureaucracies make pacts with those who satrve the people. In order to get rid of the union bureaucracies, the road is none other than to conquer worker democracy Open the way to those who fight! General revolutionary strike! Down with the ZANU PF government and the regime of the capitalists and the imperialist transnationals.
Down with the Mnangagwa dictatorship! No support for its partners, the bosses' parties like the MDC!
The power of those below must be raised!
The working class must give a way out for the crisis that the workers in Zimbabwe are facing today. For committees of workers, poor peasants, vendors, students and rank and file soldiers! Set up the power of those of below, the broad majority of the subjugated nation, to disarm the bourgeoisie! To take a first step forward, we need to conquer rank and file assemblies in all remaining factories, mines and workplaces! It is necessary to set up a coordination organ of all the workers in struggle, of the unemployed workers, militant youth, poor peasants, the doctors the vendors, mine workers, civil servants and municipality workers and students to fight together! National Congress of delegates of all the workers and explited in Zimbabawe!
We have to set up self-defense committees and the workers militia by winning the rank and file of soldiers who deny repressing workers, to impose a revolutionary General Strike that will shake Zimbabwe from its foundations and put the fall of the infamous regime on the agenda!
We call on all the organisations that speak in the name of the working class and their demands to break with the government and bourgeoisie that starve and dismiss us!
We must fight for a minimum wage, vital and mobile at the level of the family basket! We must end unemployment and put all hands free to produce! One more shift in all factories! Reduction of the working day! Nationalization without payment and under the control of the workers of any establishment that closes, suspends or dismisses!
Without delay, we must suspend all payment of the fraudulent foreign debt of Zimbabwe, seize without payment the imperialist banks to ensure that all resources go to health, education and so that the starving people eat.
Hospitals are empty and out of drugs. Let us set up a national public health committee under the control of doctors, health workers, trade unions and all the organizations of the workers and poor peasants.
Only the working class of Zimbabwe leading the entire exploited and por peasants, is the one that can guarantee the bread, the land, the national independence and even the struggle for the most extreme democratic liberties. Revolutionary General Strike now until the government falls and we expel imperialism out of Zimbabwe! Out with the imperialist transnationals! Out with the IMF!
We must prevent the current struggle of the working class, the rebellious youth, the poor peasants and the oppressed from being betrayed! Against all the leaderships that conspire to lead the masses to defeat, let us put up a Workers and Combative Left Block to fight and to overthrow the Mnangagwa government with the revolutionary general strike until they fall.
We insist on it, only the working class of Zimbabwe, united to the working class of all Southern Africa, is the one that can guarantee the bread, the land, the national independence and even the struggle for the most extreme democratic liberties.
