As Covid cases increase in Zimbabwe, the government of the military dictatorship of Mnangagwa has arranged a new lockdown . A curfew is imposed from 6pm to 6am. No gatherings of any kind, no protests, not even the means of survival of street vendors are allowed. It is only allowed to leave the houses to buy food and medicine. But on the other hand, mining and rural workers are forced to continue working as usual. Teachers are also required to attend schools and take exams.
As WIL, we say no to the Lockdown as it is proposed, since it is only for the elites. Covid-19 attacks everyone, but mostly the poor. Workers on the front line suffer the most, as they do not have Personal Protective Equipment. Mining workers are forced to go to work at the risk of contagion. The same are the teachers who are forced to go to take exams. We need a quarantine ... but let it be with dignity. With hunger there is no quarantine!
Is that this quarantine does not guarantee even a basic minimum income so that you can buy food or medicine. Even the children of workers cannot study in online classes, because only the children of employers can afford to buy the necessary internet data packages.

It's high time for teachers, miners, students, the unemployed and venders get unified and fight together to defeat the hunger lockdown imposed by bosses because if we do not fight together we are left before the alternative: die either for Covid-19 or starvation.

Workers must take the resolution of the crisis and the pandemic in our hands to give a real response to the Coronavirus. Those on top only think about them and their profits, we don't delegate to the bosses!
The working class must lead the fight against the coronavirus pandemic! A Workers' Health Emergency Plan must be imposed right now in the streets, controlled by doctors, nurses and health workers from all the social health services in defense of the workers. From the ZCTU, the worker's' organizations, militant student organizations and doctors, a Public health committee must be set up which guarantees that the people can survive the pandemic, hunger and misery.  A Public Health Committee of the entire scientific community, health personnel and all workers who risking their lives keep the indispensable establishments during the quarantine. For a National Public Health Committee made up of health workers and worker and peasant organizations that guarantees that workers do not pay for this crisis, that do not stop before any privilege or property right, to make the necessary resources available to a health plan for the population.
The people must do the quarantine, but with wages equal to the family basket for all workers, employed and unemployed, with food and all necessary services guaranteed, and those who operate in the essential sectors must have PPE and all the necessary prevention measures, sanity and security. 
The committees of consumers, poor peasants and agricultural workers must be set up for food! The large tracts of land must be expropriated without compensation and the entire chain of food intermediaries to guarantee there are not lacking of food in workers' and the poor people's homes.
In this quarantine, we must have maximum health, hygiene conditions and decent housing for the exploited. Expropriation without payment of the hotels and anyone who owns more than two properties dedicated to profit to guarantee a decent house for the exploited so that they can do the quarantine!
Money it's therefrom the multi international companies which are not closing down because of lock down. It's high time for unify all the struggles from ZCTU , worker and militant students organizations .This is the time to fight.
Banks and mines must be nationalized without payment to put all the resources for the health and food for the people! Expropriation without payment of all the transnational corporations that plunder Zimbabwe! Not a dollar to pay the foreign debt! Out with the IMF!

These are elementary measures, which can only be guaranteed by a provisional revolutionary workers' and popular government, based on the self-determination bodies of the masses. Because only by defeating the dictatorship of Mnangagwa, a servant of the IMF and imperialism, which subjects workers to hunger and Covid-19, will we be able to protect the health and lives of workers and the poor people.
