International Action Day of homage to Leon Trotsky,
83 years after his assassination at the hands of Stalinism
From Syria, Khero, a member of the Leon Sedov Brigade
We will now give the floor to a comrade who is very dear to us. We are honored to have the presence of Khero, who is nothing more and nothing less than a member of the Leon Sedov Brigade, the younger brother of our Trotskyist leader in Syria, the martyr Abu Al Baraa, both sons of Mustafa Abu Jumaa, who also opened the doors to Trotskyism in Syria and fell bravely fighting for the banners of the revolution and the Trotskyist program.
That is why we give the floor to comrade Khero who is in this meeting and is going to give us a small report of the situation that is being lived.
"When we began to march we had conquered the weapons. We fought with weapons to confront the massacre imposed by the regime. But today we no longer have those weapons. They are all in the hands of HTS or the FSA. Those weapons were taken out completely from the fronts".
First of all, I hope you are all well. Greetings to all revolutionaries on this 83rd anniversary day and greetings to all those who are fighting for the revolution in the world. An honor to be able to be at this meeting together with all of you.
Also a greeting to comrade Steif Abu Yazan, who was able to tell the situation in Syria better than the news channels Al Jazeera or Al Arabiya, who rightly spoke about how criminal the regime of Bashar al-Assad is and that it Is against that criminal regime we have stood up.
In that fight, at the beginning of everything, when we started marching we had conquered weapons. We fought with weapons to confront the massacre imposed by the regime. But today we no longer have those weapons. They are all in the hands of HTS or the FSA. Those weapons were Taken out completely from the fronts. So if we go to the fronts where we are fighting, as comrade Abu Yazan said, we find that they do not have machine guns, that they do not have enough ammunition, that they do not have anti-aircraft weapons, we can see that they do not have shells. So we have to denounce this situation as well.
To be in that situation on the fronts against Al Assad is very difficult. It is also very difficult for the people to defend themselves. We live under constant harassment, police control by HTS and FSA, they control you if you are there and especially if you carry weapons, because they are the ones who hoard and keep all the weapons.
So, if the regime of Bashar al-Assad breaks that line of defense and arrives, the people are not armed to defend themselves. It is a murderous and criminal regime and all the weapons are held by HTS and the FSA, who put them well away. To make matters worse, they reduced the guard posts, where 100 to 150 people used to fight and keep the regime at bay. Now there are only 15 to 10 people in each.
Let's talk now about Turkey's role. It said it was standing with the revolution and in reality it is standing with the al-Assad regime. They ended up making a pact with the al-Assad regime. The same thing Saudi Arabia did, King Salman, who claimed to support the revolution, appeared on TV and suddenly ended up supporting Bashar al-Assad and re-establishing political relations with his regime.
As we already know, it is a regime that persecutes and if you want to stand up and confront this regime, or if you go out on a march, you can end up in a prison that makes Abu Ghraib look like a paradise if compared to al-Assad's torture chambers.
This danger is also what we find with the controls that are inside the areas where we are. In the checkpoints there is the same persecution, I saw them and I have photos that I cannot show because they can trace me.
Finally, I want to greet you all. Greetings to the revolutionaries of Argentina, to the revolutionaries of Colombia and to all the revolutionaries present there.
Thank you very much.
