Argentina - April 2, 2022 FREEDOM TO THE PRISONERS FOR FIGHTING! Dozens of organizations from the unemployed movement, Human Rights, left-wing parties met on Wednesday March 30 at SERPAJ (Peace and Justice Service of Argentina) to discuss common actions for the freedom of companions Santillán, Rodríguez and Lazarte. The government and the bosses' parties have launched, under orders from the IMF, an escalation of repression and harassment against the workers' organizations. That is why behind the imprisonment of the comrades, there came the provocation and arrest of members of the Polo Obrero and the imminent trial of Sebastián Romero. It is necessary to launch an international campaign for the freedom of our companions right now, coordinating actions in other countries and even going to embassies, based on an international call to all workers' and human rights organizations in the world to fight for the freedom of all the political prisoners, for the acquittal of Ruiz, Arakaki and the Las Heras oil workers and for the deprocessing of all the worker and popular fighters of Argentina. That is why we must urgently set up a National Coordinating Board for the Freedom of Political Prisoners, to unify all causes in a single struggle and coordinate actions with the methods of our class, marches, work stoppages, pickets, strikes, etc. An injury to one, is an injury to all! We share here above the statement resolved at the meeting at SERPAJ premises.   Press release On April 6, March For The Freedom of the prisoners of the IMF On Wednesday, April 6 at 10 a.m., a unitary mobilization will be carried out from the Obelisk to the Buenos Aires penal chamber, in Libertad 1042. We will march demanding the immediate freedom of Oscar Santillán, Jaru Rodríguez and Julián Lazarte, arrested for participating in the day of protest against the agreement with the IMF on March 10, 2022 in Congress. The signatory organizations understand that social protest cannot be criminalized, even less so when hunger reigns in the neighborhoods and popular sectors, when the adjustment is the currency on which this agreement voted in Congress is based. We have spent more than 20 days with our comrades detained, harassed and demonized by the big media and various bosses' political sectors. We extend this call to mobilize and show solidarity to all labor, social, political, student and human rights organizations at the national and international level. For all the above, in a wide space of unity and in the streets we demand that the judges, prosecutors and political power of today release our comrades, for the dropping of the charges against them and the cessation of the persecution of those who fight.
