Condolences from Juan "Pico" Muzzio*
on the decease of Alejandro Villarruel
My condolences to his militancy comrades, his workmates in the ARS and to his family for this loss of a militant who tried to regenerate and refound the Fourth International, at a time when all the renegades of Trotskyism have gone over with arms and baggage to the side of the national bourgeoisies.
This loss is deeply felt by me, since I shared a stretch of the road with him. But it is even more felt by the revolutionary vanguard that the world working class needs today to confront the economic war, catastrophe and barbarism that US imperialism wants to lead today with the collaboration of other imperialist countries such as England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Putin's Russia and China. This is what awaits the working class, the middle class and the exploited youth throughout the planet, by the carrying out of wars of extermination as in Palestine, as what remains of the martyred Syrian people, leaving scorched and plundered land as they have done in Africa and other areas of influence such as now Latin America. They want to finish taking over all the territories of the former workers states, as they are doing today with the war in Ukraine.
The crisis of the revolutionary leadership and its vanguard is the great problem facing the entire working class and the exploited today, as clearly stated by the Transitional Program. If in the next decade or decades we do not succeed in providing the working class with a revolutionary leadership so that it can take power, with the program of the Fourth International, new atrocities and conflagrations will shake the entire planet. It was in this struggle to Regenerate and Refound the Fourth International and avoid the catastrophe that is approaching that Ale… as I knew him, devoted part of his life.
Towards socialism forever, Ale!
A big hug to all his loved ones from Juan “Pico” Muzzio, a fighter for the cause of the Fourth International
*Prominent leader who led the break between the TBI (now Democracia Obrera) and the PTS in 1998
