A debate with FIT-U:

To topple Milei with the institutions of this democracy for the rich or as we did with De la Rua in 2001?

After the scam in which the president was involved went public, currents from the FIT-U made some suggestions… all of which within the mechanisms of the 1953 Constitution.
MST feels sad because the judges and attorneys, children of Videla dictatorship which arrest and prosecute thousands of militant workers, are not acting ex officio. They make the people believe there can be “independent judges” when Justice is a bourgeois institution made to defend Capitalists’ private property. They want the judges to punish the BlackRock servant while the judges themselves are at BlackRock’s service?

Meanwhile, their partners in FIT-U praise the parliament: PO and IS have requested an impeachment and PTS has introduced a project to request Milei to account before the Congress. They all sow good expectations about the Wall Street office in Argentina (i.e. the Parliament), which keeps voting laws against the workers to the service of the big capitalists and imperialism. What sort of impeachment can the bosses representatives do when last year they abdicated and gave full powers to Milei?
Once again, they want to make the working class and the exploited believe there are allies in the parliament with which we can defeat Milei. Their requests for deep investigations, explanations and impeachment do not differ from what Peronism is saying. This is the class collaboration policy with which the FIT-U poisons the workers, leading them to kneel before the boss politicians of the “opposition”. According to them, the scammer is Milei only and not the whole bourgeois class and this rotten capitalist system.

This is why they propose “to topple” Milei with the institutions of the very reactionary 1953-1994 Constitution. So bad! Should Milei be dismissed from his role, then the Videlaist Villaruel (the Vice President, TN) would take office. Should she resign to the presidency, then the president of the chamber of representatives, Martin Menem from LLA (the ruling party), would take office. That would be the result of their impeachment.

Such a defense of this Democracy can only come from currents that are totally assimilated to the bourgeois democracy and its institutions. The reformist left policies only supports this infamous regime and allows the bourgeois gangs to keep attacking the masses imposing an even more reactionary policy.
Why don´t they say “Milei has to go like De la Rua in 2001”? Why don’t they say we need to conquer a sucessful Argentinazo with everyone out and no one left? Why do they refuse to say this government is servant of imperialism and should be defeated as in 2001, with popular assemblies, expelling the trade union bureaucracy, with a political general strike to do away with this police regime?

To topple Milei we need to confront the capitalist system and imperialism that are coming for all. We need to defeat the dominance institutions of the 1853-1994 constitution regime. But FIT-U is far from proposing an independent workers strategy. To them, revolution is not the way; socialism is “for the future” as they say. And today they place themselves as the left of this regime; of the democracy for the rich. We are before a new decline of the FIT-U.
