EARLY WARNING
Danny Moreno, union activist and president of the Asociación Nacional de Trabajadores del Sector Aéreo y de Servicios Aeroportuarios (ANTSA), worker for the multinational Avianca who was involved in the student movement of 2001, has filed the following complaint at the prosecutor's office:
Since mid-October, my personal peace of mind and that of my girlfriend has been affected due to extortion through written messages, audios on WhatsApp and calls. On November 6th, while I was in a conversation with my girlfriend, I noticed that messages that were not written by me were coming out of my WhatsApp account, where we were both threatened. Later, I noticed an unusual conversation with another of my contacts (I have several videos and photos), a conversation that they later used to send parts of it to my girlfriend. After that, I noticed that several of my contacts and therefore WhatsApp conversations with them had been deleted. I was also eliminated from one of the groups where in recent months I have dedicated part of my political activism from my role as a union leader. On Thursday, November 14th, around 10:00 p.m., they sent my girlfriend a message by WhatsApp with a location where I supposedly was, which caused her concern since the last thing we had talked about was that I was at home. For this reason, she started calling me insistently, which made me wake up after 11:00 p.m.; when I checked the chat, I realized that malicious messages had been written from my chat again. I also noticed a notification confirming a password change to the Google account on the phone; this caused me great concern, so I decided to start organizing all the evidence accumulated until then and file the corresponding complaint about previous investigations. I finished that task while I was on the route assigned to me at work when suddenly the cell phone turned off around 5:28 a.m. When I turned it on again, it asked me for the configuration process as if it had been reset, which increased my concern even more. When I got to my shift, I reported the news to the supervisor on duty and requested a meeting with the Security Coordinator of Avianca, a company with which I will complete 21 years of work on December 11. Considering that all the evidence I had collected of what has been narrated up to now was on my cell phone, I will refrain from activating it until I am instructed to do so within the framework of this complaint.
At 09:30 I met with the Security Coordinator of Avianca , in his office located on the third floor of the El Dorado International Airport, taking into account the nature of the subject I invited the Investigations Coordinator, the meeting ended at 10:50 where I expressed the context of the historical situation of my political activism and I informed them of a warning that a few months ago was made known to me so that I should be careful since supposedly from a union sector of those who come together in the company, in a face-to-face meeting held in the city of Barranquilla with the participation of unionized workers from Bogotá, Medellín and Cali it had been agreed to prepare what is known as a judicial “false positive” according to which it would be alleged that I am part of an international terrorist group with the objective of expelling me from one of the organizations to which I belong. At first I did not pay much attention to this, but in view of the outcome of the events I do so now to prevent irreparable harm. When I left my shift, I went to the headquarters of the prosecutor's office in Paloquemao, where after discussing the case with the security guard, he referred me to the URI (judicial office that receives denunciations deserving urgent attention, NT) in Puente Aranda. After discussing the situation with several officials at the counter on the fourth floor, after 6:00 p.m., my complaint was not taken on the grounds of the time and that said headquarters was not competent.
In addition to my role as union leader of the Asociación Nacional de Trabajadores del sector Aéreo y de Servicios Aeroportuarios ANTSA, I am a member of the Executive Committee of the Confederación Unión de Trabajadores UTC (Confederated Workers Union), for which, and exercising my union rights, I have been carrying out intense activism on social networks raising awareness of the historical problems of the new generations of workers, also based on my convictions that arise from my political principles, I have been actively participating in the following processes: Comité Salvemos Gorgona (Save Gorgona Committee), Comité Colombiano de Solidaridad con Palestina (Colombian Committee for Solidarity with Palestine), Asamblea Nacional Popular Independiente (Independent National Popular Assembly), among other local, national and international articulation processes.
We demand that the national government act as soon as possible to clarify the facts and determine those responsible for hacking his account to prevent access to his social networks and the Facebook page of the union, where the problems of the sector and the processes in which the union participates have been exposed. Everything points to the fact that the situation that the comrade is going through is a political persecution for his activism. This case adds to that of many more union leaders who, within the framework of the implementation of the peace agreements that have recently turned 8 years old, continue to be systematically persecuted by a State run by a reactionary minority that does not accept the slightest change in favor of the majority increasingly impoverished by the economic system established several decades ago that under the mask of an alleged democracy has created labor relations that border on slavery where the dictatorship of capital is imposed for the benefit of bankers, their multinationals and governments kneeling to economic power.
