Cuba - February 23, 2022
Before the judicial frame-ups of the Cuban CP government due to the rebellion of July 11, 2021
Down with the convictions of the youth and workers judged by 11J!
Immediate acquittal of all the condemned!
Unconditional freedom to the more than 700 prisoners for fighting!
On February 14, the courts of the Cuban CP regime handed down the first 20 convictions for sedition against young people and workers imprisoned for taking to the streets the struggle for claim bread and medicine on July 11, 2021. Five young people, aged 16 and 17, were sentenced to 5 years of "limitation of freedom" and fifteen young workers and students got sentences ranging from 7 to 20 years in prison.
Although the government of the new bourgeoisie of the Cuban CP has not given the exact number and whereabouts of many of those detained in the protests, activists, relatives and friends have denounced that there are over 700 imprisoned, mostly young people and some of them minors, who have been behind bars for months, where they were beaten and tortured.
Even the relatives of the prisoners have been repressed, as happened on January 31 when they met in front of the Municipal Court on October 10, as one of these farce trials was taking place. Parents, grandmothers and activists who had gathered outside the courthouse were brutally beaten by the police and several of them were arrested.
This is how Castroism treats the working class, following the methods of Stalin and the Moscow Trials, which imposed death sentences on the revolutionary workers' vanguard, the Trotskyists and anyone who dared to demand something or criticize the bureaucracy in the former USSR.
What was 11J?
On July 11, 2021, thousands of Cuban workers and students took to the streets in dozens of cities by the thousands to demand food and medication, in the face of hunger, the cost of living and scarcity.
On January 1, the government of Díaz Canel, under the pretext of the US blockade, had applied a terrible package called "Task of Reorganization", which deepen the misery extremely, with a brutal devaluation, lack of food and medicine, salaries wretched and increase of unemployment. The Cuban working class queues endlessly at empty stores to get a piece of bread, a chicken or a liter of oil.
Basic needs are only available in MLC (Convertible Free Currency) stores, which are accessed with a card backed by dollars deposited in banks (which the government now hoards), when most of the Cuban working class earns wages in fully devalued Cuban pesos.
The crackdown on the mobilization was immediate. The police were joined by the Communist Party gangs armed with sticks shouting, “The streets belong to Fidel” and attacked the starving protesters in defense of the government and the property and privileges of the new rich. After dissolving the protest, they continued raiding each working-class neighborhood, house by house, for those who had participated in the protest.
.
The demands of 11J were not different from those raised by the working class and the people in revolt in Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, the United States, between 2019-2021. 11J was part of that uprising of the masses of the continent against growing misery, hunger, the repression of Wall Street governments and their lackeys, against the IMF packages, which looked mild compared to Diaz Canel and the CP’s “Task of Reordering”.
These revolutionary uprisings, which made all the lackey bourgeoisies in Latin America and US imperialism itself tremble, prevented the new Cuban bourgeoisie from establishing capitalist restoration. That is why, the CP in Havana could not win and, as the leadership of the Stalinist parties on the continent, played a crucial role in deflecting those uprisings.
In Ecuador, the leadership of the FUT and CONAIE returned Lenin Moreno to power after the masses had defeated him. In Colombia, Stalinism prevented the fall of Duque in 2021. In Chile, after leading the masses into the trap of the Constitutional Convention, the CP is part of Boric’s government, which will try to keep the civic-military regime intact with their Pinochet generals. In Peru, they supported Pedro Castillo, who is deploying the Armed Forces (trained by the Pentagon) into the streets. In the United States, they subjected the struggle of black workers and US workers to Sanders and Biden, when the revolutionary fall of Trump was at hand.
In Cuba, the government of Díaz Canel cracked down on the workers and youth of 11J with a viciousness and savagery like the one of Piñera in Chile or Duque in Colombia. But if he was able to do it, it is because the proletariat of the continent had already been diverted from its revolutionary combat. This is a brutal counterrevolutionary action against the Cuban working class and at the same time an accurate blow to all the exploited masses of Latin America and the United States.
Thus, the new bourgeoisie of the CP consolidated its position as the restorative agent of capitalism on the island, which shows imperialism that it is the best agent to finish crushing the working class and guarantee "social peace" and sweatshops conditions, with cheap labor and subjected to the whip of the “red businessmen”. This is how the Castro bourgeoisie promises financial capital guarantees to invest in Cuba... becoming its junior partner, of course.
The tragedy is that they do this in the name of “socialism”. That is how they are trying to erase any struggle for the socialist revolution from the consciousness of the masses of Cuba and the continent. That is why they will not hesitate to launch new and more terrible counterrevolutionary onslaught, which will crush both the Cuban vanguard and the entire American vanguard, since the definitive defeat of the Cuban working class is inextricably linked to the defeat of the Latin American working class as a whole and from the US as well. This is the only way for the “red businessmen” of the PC to establish the capitalist restoration in Cuba.
We can't allow it!
Immediate acquittal of all those convicted of 11J! Down with the sentences handed down by the courts of the government of the Castro bourgeoisie!
Unconditional freedom for the political prisoners of 11J and their families!
Stop cracking down on the workers and the working class youth!
We do not recognize the CP's surrenderer and starvation government any right to imprison and judge the Cuban working class.
Workers' and popular courts made up of the families of the prisoners of 11J to judge and punish the torturers and jailers of our children!
Full democratic freedoms so that the masses, the workers, the artists, the students who came out to fight against hunger organize and self-organize!
For independent unions to defend workers against the new rich, the transnationals and the corrupt officials and parasites of the CP!
Legality to all workers and socialist parties! The Church and the Meliá hotels have theirs already. The militant committees of workers, exploited, and students must be the ones defining which parties are in favor of the workers' and socialist revolution.
For armed self-defense committees made up of workers, militant youth, rank and file soldiers, in every city, region, to defend themselves and face the repression of the state and the gangs of the Canel-Castro CCP, who are beating workers who take to the streets for bread and a decent life!
The Cuban working class is one of the most exploited, starved and cracked down of the continent. But these conditions do not come from "socialism", but from the capitalist restoration imposed by that new Castro bourgeoisie. They starve the people while living in luxury countries, doing lucrative deals and fleeing millions of dollars to the Bahamas.
To conquer decent living conditions and housing, to recover health and education, it is necessary to expropriate transnationals again, as well as the new bourgeoisie of the CP. May the Castros, Díaz Canel, their officials and the business generals give back everything they have stolen from the people!
The land must be recovered to produce cheap food.
Out with the government of the new Castro bourgeoisie! For a Soviet and revolutionary Cuba, which becomes a powerful bastion of the international socialist revolution.
The liberation of the prisoners of 11J, imprisoned and condemned by the infamous government of the CP, is a task of the entire proletariat of the continent. The militant worker and peasant organizations of the continent, those that defend the revolution of '59, have to take the defense of the Cuban working class into their hands. The CONLUTAS of Brazil; the militant trade unionism of Argentina; the unions opposed to the charra bureaucracy in Mexico; and mainly the labor organizations and the black movement of the United States have to put all your forces into promoting immediate actions for the freedom of the 11J prisoners.
The mothers and relatives of the political prisoners, of the persecuted, of the assassinated by the states in the continent, who are struggling tirelessly for justice and unconditional freedom for their children, must make the struggle of the mothers of 11J in Cuba as their own…
If the working class of the continent stands up, the only force capable of defeating the US blockade will be set in motion. It will not be the Communist Party of Díaz Canel. They are the greatest enemies of socialism in Cuba and throughout Latin America. The "new left" and its petitions to Biden to lift the embargo will not do it either. The US proletariat and the Black Movement have the key to break the US blockade and stop the crackdown of the Bonapartist regime of Canel-Castro.
Those are the allies of the exploited Cubans to prevent the capitalist restoration from settling!
