On the “international meeting” in Buenos Aires…
Again on the Ukrainian question
Reformism and war…
Witch doctors and druids debating over medicine
In this meeting war was one of the most debated topics. It is impossible to hide or avoid mentioning the Ukrainian war. So everyone got dressed as “war theorists”. But clothes doesn’t make the man. Their reformist policy was shown in each intervention, which unveiled what they truly are: pacifists playing war irresponsibly.
One great thing all participants to the meeting share is their thesis of class struggle suspension during war when in fact, class struggle deepens. Because of this, no matter their positions, none of those currents watch on working class interests during war but insist on placing the proletariat on the wrong side of the trenches to submit it to their class enemy.
Such was the case in Syria, where most if these leaderships got into the imperialist “anti-terror front”. They have supported fascist al-Assad and murderous Putin who, commanded by the US imperialism, have massacred the Syrian revolutionary masses, while others submitted to the FSA and the Turkish bourgeois generals who have handed over the revolution from within. The condemnation to this brutal massacre that let the current Zionist counterrevolutionary offensive against the Palestinian people was outstandingly absent in the dozens of lectures held throughout the meeting.
In Palestine, there are currents that have condemned Hamas “terrorist methods” and offered condolences to Zionism, as PTS has done. There are also those that submit the heroic Palestinian resistance and the huge international solidarity against Netanyahu and Biden genocide, to the Iranian theocracy that has fenced in Gaza and wants to surrender the heroic Palestinian people.
War in Ukraine has been a topic that crossed the whole meeting. Pro NATO currents, such as UIT-CI, LIT, Bodart’s LIS affirm Ukraine can win the war without breaking away from Zelensky government, NATO and imperialist Maastricht. These groups demand weapons from NATO, making imperialism look as “a liberation force for the oppressed nations”.
On the other side there are the currents that support Putin more or les openly or covertly. Among the most shameless ones is Savvas Matsas from Greece, who holds a political block with Stalinist Darya Mitina, a true Putin informal minister, leader of the Russian Unified Communist party, an appendix of the official communist party that supports the criminal invasion of Ukraine (and the massacre in Syria, of course). They even claim Putin is anti-imperialist, while he is a hit man ever ready to massacre revolting peoples on behalf of different imperialist powers. He is a gendarme of imperialist and capitalist businessed on all ex-soviet republics in Eurasia, where Russia keeps dozens of military bases to maintain order and preventa them from evading imperialist control.
The “new international” meeting is looking for “progessist bourgeoisies” and to support the lesser evil so as to submit the proletariat to its executioner
Ukrain: an example that exposes them.
During the meeting, he majority position over Ukraine was the one of currents such as PO, Politica Obrera, PTS, SWP and Castrist Garcia Hernandez. They affirm that in Ukraine there is a war between NATO and Russia. What are they talking about? It is the Ukrainian nation that has been invaded by Putin’s troops for two and a half years now. Ukrainian workers are the ones who have left thousands dead and 10 million refugees.
NATO is not combating in Ukraine. It only gives weapons so that Russia does not move forward beyond the Donbass and Crimea, the already stipulated borders in war. This is what everyone is hiding: after two and a half years of invasion Ukraine has been parted and occupied in a 20% of its land by the “Great Russia” that has stolen all the companies of the controlled area. The Ukrainian working class files are torn, between the Kiev workers and those in zones occupied by Moscow. Meanwhile, Ukraine keeps being subjugated by IMF, and the pro-imperialist government of Zelensky has handed over the gas and all the wealth to the USA and the imperialist transnationals.
Ukraine: either soviet and independent or a colony occupied, parted and guarded
At war, reformism conceals the struggle for revolution.
Beyond their differences and different trenches, all participants at that meeting agree on silencing the one thing that can solve the question of war which is the victory of the revolution.
All of them deny the Trotskyist theory-program of Permanent Revolution, which in Ukraine means that only the working class together with the rank and file soldiers, taking over the war leadership can defeat the Russian invasion and free the oppressed nation. The unity of the Ukrainian working class from Donbass to Kiev, taking over the political, economic and military control of the war to defeat Putin’s invasion, getting rid of Zelensky, expropriating the oligarchy, transnationals and bankers without compensation and breaking away from IMF so that the people can eat and get the best weapons is the only way to win the war. Only a soviet and independent Ukraine held on the unity of the Ukrainian proletariat with the Russian workers and those of the entire Europe to confront NATO and imperialist Maastricht can liberate the nation, expulse invader troops, break away from imperialism to set Ukraine as bastion of the European socialist revolution and as a fundamental link to restore the proletariat dictatorship under revolutionary forms in all the ex USSR territories.
It is either that or marching on Putin’s tanks or clinging from NATO’s clothes, turning your back on the combats for the return of Lenin and Trotsky’s revolutionary USSR. |
