TOWARDS DECEMBER 12: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE PERSECUTED WORKER

Letter from the Leon Sedov Brigade to anarchist fighters fighting in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine

Dear Comrades,

From the Leon Sedov Brigade that fights in Syria we are sending you a big solidarity hug to all of you that confront the Putin regime in Russia, Lukashenko regime in Belarus and the bloody occupation to the Ukrainian nation. We feel part of a same struggle against that war criminal that here in the bloody Syria has imposed a true genocide against the fascist al-Assad, on behalf of imperialism with massacre.

During these 11 years of struggle against the murderous regime in Syria we connected with the anarchist comrade Giannis Michailidis that keeps on suffering huge hardships and tortures in the Greek jails. With him and his comrades of the Anarchist Initiative from Koridallos Prison, we fought together for the victory of the Syrian revolution, against all those who plotted to make us look as terrorists and against the same enemy we fight today in Syria, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. With them, we organize the struggle to open the borders of the imperialist Europe in moments in which tens of thousands of refugees were escaping from the massacre of al-Assad and Putin were imprisoned in concentration camps. We fought together against the Greek imperialist regime that also sentenced this brave youth to tens of years of prison, the same regime that today keeps on massacring youth like yesterday Alexis Grigoropulos.

The Ukrainian people, occupied by Putin and his army, heroically resists and their brothers and sisters from Russia and Belarus that start to rise against the war are brutally suppressed by the Moscow government and also by Lukashenko. Many were imprisoned, tortured, condemned and killed. Here in Syria, more than 500 thousand prisoners suffer the worst atrocities in the jails of the genocidal al-Assad, friend of Putin.
Today, together with you, we cry Free all the political prisoners of Russia, Belarus and the whole world! And we fight for this clamor to be expanded above the borders.

For this reason we wanted to send you a call for struggle of the International Network for the Freedom of the World Political Prisoners and Justice for Our Martyrs, which is December 12, the International Day of the Persecuted Worker. It calls to a unified struggle in the whole world of the workers and the oppressed against the governments and regimes of imperialism and its lackeys that repress, persecute, kill all those who rise for our rights. It is said as a main demand the struggle for the freedom of all the prisoners of Russia and Belarus.

As you can see, almost 9 years ago, on December 12, oil workers of Patagonia Argentina (Las Heras) were convicted to years in prison and even with a death sentence, for “daring” to rise with their demands of wages and against labour outsourcing. But thanks to the fire of the huge struggle and international solidarity promoted from Japan, from the tormented Palestine, from the jails of Greece, from Middle East in flames and from different corners of the world, even today the workers of Las Heras, even if convicted, couldn’t be imprisoned.
We call you, comrades, to fight together for this because we confront the same governments and regimes that chase us, imprison us and torture us in the whole world.
We are at your full disposition to be your spokesperson here in Syria and the whole Middle East.

We send you revolutionary fighting salute to all the comrades. Long live the struggle of the working class of Ukraine with their class brothers and sisters of Russia and Belarus! Immediate freedom to all the political prisoners! Let’s be one fist striking in Syria, Greece and the whole Eastern Europe!
