The murderous theocratic regime of the Iranian Ayatollahs has just hanged two other protesters

Iran's bloodthirsty theocratic regime hanged two men this Saturday morning, January 7, for allegedly killing a Basij agent during anti-government protests near the capital Tehran in October. They were accused of "moharebeh", which means "war against God"; this charge applies to protesters who have clashed with security forces during protests.

Mohammad Mehdi Karami, 22, and Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, 39, were hanged this morning. Karami and Hosseini were tried without being given the right to have a lawyer, like almost all other dissidents and protesters detained during the demonstrations.

"I met Seyed-Mohammad Hosseini in Karaj prison. He cried as he recounted the torture inflicted on him: beatings with his hands and legs tied and blindfolded, kicks to the head that made him lose consciousness, beatings on feet with an iron bar and electric shocks to different parts of the body," Ali Sharifzadeh Ardakani, who says he was recently allowed to represent Hosseini, tweeted on December 18.
The government has so far executed four protesters and eleven others have been sentenced to death, while at least 100 protesters face charges that could lead to death sentences.

Activists had called protests in Iran and abroad on Sunday, January 8, the third anniversary of the downing of a Ukrainian plane over Tehran by the Revolutionary Guards, killing all 176 people on board. The executions on Saturday will add fuel to the fire of popular anger, and large protests may break out today.
At the same time, dozens of prisoners and imprisoned women are on hunger strike in various prisons in Iran, against the abuses they suffer, torture, beatings, rapes, etc. Others suffer from life-threatening illnesses and are denied adequate treatment by prison authorities, or deprived of vital medication.
The Iranian revolution cannot be isolated. To stop the murderous regime of the Ayatollahs, the streets must be won all over the world! We must march on the embassies together with the workers' organizations!
Death to the dictator!
The executions must be stopped! Down with the death penalty!
Immediate freedom for all political prisoners and detainees for fighting!
