Monday, September 22, 2025, is a day that will long be remembered as the day when workers, students, retirees, young people, the unemployed—in short, the exploited, the oppressed, the proletarians—went on strike and filled the squares of Italy, not for economic reasons, not against precariousness and unemployment, not against the high cost of living, but directly against the genocide of the Palestinian people, the most cruel, violent, cynical, and senseless expression of the barbarity of this rotten capitalist-imperialist system.

On Monday, September 22, 2025, there were more than eighty local demonstrations, marches of tens of thousands of people, with a total turnout in the hundreds of thousands. Blockades of train stations and streets effectively held off attacks by the repressive apparatus.
In Milan, a massive demonstration occupied the Central Station, which became a battleground with the police; in Venice, twenty thousand people paralyzed access to Porto Marghera for hours, defying charges and water cannons; in Bologna, more than fifty thousand people blocked the ring road; in Rome, one hundred thousand protesters paralyzed the city, blocking Termini Station and the eastern ring road. The ports of Genoa, Livorno, Palermo, Trieste, and Civitavecchia were also blocked.

The largest union, the CGIL, after attempting to tame and defuse the mobilization by calling a last-minute strike for Friday the 19th, only succeeded in galvanizing the streets on the 22nd and certifying that its leaders are nothing more than agents of the bourgeoisie within the labor movement.

Representatives of the right-wing government, complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people, have become furious, blaming the "violent" while calling Netanyahu a "mischievous boy" and continuing to sell him the weapons with which he carries out the genocide, and are partners with him, through Eni, in the theft of hydrocarbon reserves off the coast of Gaza.
The strike on Monday, September 22, 2025, can and must provide impetus for a general mobilization that, through the international assembly of dockworkers in Genoa on September 26 and 27 and the demonstration against the genocide of the Palestinian people and in support of their resistance on October 4, will connect with the ongoing mobilizations in various European countries to place on the agenda the construction of a European general strike against the genocide of the Palestinian people and in support of their legitimate resistance.

A European and international general strike, a day's wage for every worker to provide food and medical care to the population exhausted by the siege of the fascist-Zionist army, weapons for the Palestinian resistance, for the widespread arming of the Palestinian proletariat!

Recognition of Palestinian resistance organizations as a belligerent army and the formation of international volunteer brigades, as in the Spanish Revolution of 1936.
Open all fronts of struggle against the traitorous Arab bourgeoisies, and resume the path of the 2011 revolutions in North Africa and the Middle East!
Against the imperialist Europe of Maastricht and the arms race paid for with starvation wages, cuts to schools and healthcare, and privatization of public services and social security!
Against the complicity of European imperialisms in the genocide of the Palestinian people!
