Stand by the uprising of the masses of Kazakhstan!
The uprising in Kazakhstan has a pronounced class character and was caused by the very difficult situation of the working class, which was robbed by the ruling Stalinist-capitalist mafia Nazarbayev: an increase in the retirement age, an explosive rise in prices, low salaries and a very brutal police regime. Kazakhstani workers, however, are more militant in character than in neighboring states of the former Stalinist "union" and have experience of fighting against the regime (Zhanaozen 2011).
Putin and his henchmen in the CSTO are most afraid of such outbursts of spontaneous anger of the oppressed, so the intervention followed immediately. The White Terror, and possibly the annexation of certain parts of Kazakhstan, are now the main threats to the masses there.
Of course, many pseudo-left and Stalinist-Black-Hundred donkeys like Zyuganov (the official "commy" party of the Russian Federation) are talking nonsense, calling the uprising a "conspiracy" of the imperialists; this is complete nonsense, since it is Nazarbayev's regime that is one of the most pro-imperialist in Central Asia. Some leftists organizations, as cliffists, grantists, anarchists, supported the uprising and carried out individual solidarity actions, which meant that they were all arrested.
Nevertheless, I think there has been a qualitative leap in the class struggle in the space of the former USSR. The collapse of the 30-year-old mafia regime in Kazakhstan is a hint of what the future holds for all similar regimes.
