From Arequipa, Open Letter of the United Front of Lluta, Huancarqui, Camaná, Majes addressed to the general secretary of the CGTP

We reproduce the letter that the Defense Fronts of 4 districts of the Arequipa region, in the south of rebellious Peru, issued on January 10. This letter is addressed to the general secretary of the CGTP since "more than a month after the fascist coup and seven days after the strike decreed by the Southern Regional Macro Coordinator, the CGTP has not said or done anything."
Against the leaderships that affirm that the CGTP bureaucracy is weak, the organizations of the workers, peasants and youth reveal that they are not weak, but traitors, because they have divided the workers of Lima from the revolutionary uprising of the exploited in deep Peru.
But despite this, today there is fighting in Lima and the rebellious youth together with the delegations of the regions are taking to the streets shouting "Out with Boluarte, the people repudiate you!".

OPEN LETTER TO THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE CGTP
MR. GERÓNIMO LÓPEZ SEVILLANO

Comrade:

All across the country, the workers and the people have been fighting with courage and heroism, against the civil-military dictatorship, which by order of the power of foreign and national capitalists, have taken over the government of Peru. This struggle is already turning into a civil war. The casualties on the side of the people are around fifty, including children, housewives, students, workers and peasants. Just yesterday, January 9th, in the massacre of Juliaca, the working people was massacred, killed at close range. Glory to the martyrs of the people!

What is strange comrade is that more than a month after the fascist coup and seven days after the strike decreed by the Coordinadora Macro-regional del Sur (Southern Macro-Regional Coordinating Committee), the CGTP has not said or done anything, except for a statement, which is a mere formality, in which no date is set for an assembly of delegates. It talks about preparing the conditions “for a strong strike”; as if the current socio-political situation were not enough.

We demand the immediate call to an assembly of delegates of the CGTP with the participation of the representatives of the Regional Defense Fronts, in which to approve the beginning of the INDEFINITE GENERAL STRIKE NOW as well as the formation of the UNITARY NATIONAL COMMAND OF STRUGGLE. The struggles are spontaneous, dispersed, and without direction. We need to centralize them under the same leadership.

The masses demand for all of them to leave. SHUT DOWN THE CONGRESS. BOLUARTE AND HER CABINET MUST GO. CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY. DOWN WITH THE CIVIL-MILITARY DICTATORSHIP!

The ruling class can no longer rule. It has lost legitimacy and authority. Degenerated by the crisis of its economic system and corroded by corruption, it can only do so by the force of weapons of an equally degenerated and corrupt army.
We demand the formation of a FREE AND SOVEREIGN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY where the most enlightened representatives of the national majorities, workers, peasants, housewives, native communities, professional associations, etc. decide on what government, what democracy and what republic we want to build.

If the ruling class can only offer the workers and the population in general misery, hunger, unemployment, disease, and ignorance, i.e. barbarism, then it has no reason to exist. History is putting the government of the workers and the people on the order of the day. And what is the concrete form that this slogan takes in the present economic, political, social, and moral conditions? Undoubtedly: GOVERNMENT OF THE CGTP AND OF THE DEFENSE FRONTS. Is the CGTP ready to take up this struggle? If not, the only place left for them is the dustbin of history.
