Speech by Walter Montoya of the LOI-CI Democracia Obrera in the rally in support of the struggle of the workers of Peru in front of the Sheraton hotel, where the CELAC summit was held
... where the servants of imperialism in all Latin American countries are gathered.
We have had a month of massacre by Boluarte and his coup-born government, commanded by the US imperialists through the Southern Command (SouthCom), whose General Richardson has gone out in all the media to announce that she wants the lithium from the triangle of Argentina, Bolivia and Peru, that she wants all the food, that she wants the gas and oil reserves of the continent, in what constitutes a real attack, a real neo-colonizing attack of US American imperialism over the whole continent.
Comrades, it has been a month since the masses took to the streets, set up their organisms of self-organization and direct democracy and marched on Lima. This is what must be generalized and collectivized throughout the country.
Because what it is about is to defeat imperialism, which is the real culprit as it leads both the "progressives" of America and the Bolsonarists, and now si commanding this kind of massacre in Peru. The "progressives" ensured that the hands of the masses would be tied so that imperialism could launch this attack.
So comrades, one question that remains on the table today is that the CGTP has to break with the bourgeoisie. We have to impose workers' and popular unity and fight openly, as the masses say, for the national insurgency, which means for the insurrection, to bring down Boluarte, to impose a revolutionary workers' government of the workers' and peasants' organizations of Peru.
That is what the masses need and all of us on the continent have an obligation, which is to prevent the massacre. That obligation means setting up a Latin American and continental congress of all the workers' and militant organizations of the continent to guarantee the unity of all the exploited in order to sweep away imperialism, which is the real responsible for everything we are living through and to which all these bourgeoisies gathered here in this filthy Sheraton are subordinated.
Comrades, long live the workers' and peasants' revolution of Peru! Until victory!
