WITH THE FRENCH WORKERS IN THEIR FAIR STRUGGLE
France Embassy
To the attention of Jean-Michel Casa, Ambassador of France in Spain.
The undersigned want with this letter to record our full solidarity with the French men and women workers as well as our rejection of the policies of the Macron-Borne Government.
We feel solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of workers who on the 18th held a day of general strike with demonstrations, to demand wage and pension increases as well as to denounce the attacks on the right to strike. Your government cannot ignore that sectors such as transportation, energy, public services, health, and education were at the forefront of this just fight and several hundred miles of active workers and pensioners filled the streets of the French cities.
We agree with the French trade union organizations when they point out that the magnitude of this protest is explained by "social rage over the scandalous salary differences, the increase in prices, and the rise in inflation."
As is happening throughout Europe and the world, the working class and the popular sectors see their salaries, their pensions, public services and their living conditions deteriorate in the midst of galloping inflation, pushing entire sectors of the population into the misery and increasing social inequality while giant companies in the energy sector, transportation or banking continue to accumulate enormous fortunes.
We fully understand this struggle, its causes and its fair claims, unfortunately is the same drama we active or pensioners workers are suffering in the Spanish State.
Decidedly all Governments called "progressive" or "liberal" are in favor of the bosses throughout the world.
The French trade union centers have announced "the continuity of the struggle in the energy and transport sectors, in particular the SNCF, in the universities and in education". We want it to be so and this fight will have our full support and the firm desire that the struggle of the French working class spread to all of Europe.
For the rise in wages and pensions! For the price freeze!
In defense of public services and the real right to strike! Because we want to live, not survive
Long live the struggle of the working class in France!
