International Event on the 13th anniversary of the Syrian revolution |
FROM THE SYRIAN RESISTANCE,
at the heart of the huge mobilizations in Idlib against HTS and al-Assad and for Palestine
Abu Yazan al Homsi, member of the Trotskyist revolutionary nucleus in Syria
“From Syria, it is not our intention to compare our revolution with Palestine, but to state that it is one and the same combat”
Greetings to all attendees. First of all, we recall the 13 years of the Syrian revolution, which were also years of counter-revolution, oppression, massacre, hunger, destruction and fire.
In this latter period there has been an economic debacle in what were the liberated areas. There was no bread for the entire population. This led to huge mobilizations, like the ones in 2011 against Bashar al-Assad, now against the oppressive regime of HTS.
As soon as we found out that this regime was allied with other bourgeois factions, we began to take to the streets in the hundreds of thousands. We could not tolerate any more prisoners in their dungeons. We went out ignoring those pacts, their laws, and proposing to impose our own coordination committees. We were able to free thousands of political prisoners who had been in Jolani’s jails for 10 years.
As for our Palestinian brothers and sisters, we never forget them. They are present in our minds and hearts. We see how they are massacred. And it is not only Zionism, but also all the Arab bourgeoisies of the area, who collaborate with this massacre. When the Arab bourgeoisies send "humanitarian aid", this seems to be a red dot that marks the coordinates for Zionism to launch the worst of the attacks there.
The same happens to us here. What the comrades in Palestine are suffering is what we have suffered for 13 years from Putin, Iran and Hezbollah. That is why our revolutions are siblings and part of the same thing.
We helped the Palestinian people and went out to march without imposing any conditions. And we are ready to do it now too, despite and against the oppressive regime we have from Jolani.
From Syria, it is not our intention to compare our revolution with Palestine, but to state that it is one and the same fight.
Here the majority of the population cannot eat every day. That is because we are not only facing an oppressive regime but also a starving one. The mobilizations have always been for the revolution, for the liberation of our people and the freedom of all the oppressed people.
I also want to salute those who have been with us constantly for 13 years, making our voice reach the world, fighting side by side with us, demonstrating that today we are one people. Today more than ever, let us fight together and strike together against the dictators and oppressors who oppress our peoples!
While I am with you in this meeting, I have to inform you that they are massacring our siblings who have come out to march in Salqeen. They are shooting at them with live bullets. But we will not stop and we will not be chastised by them as we weren’t by Bashar!
I send greetings and a big hug to all those who are fighting for the victory of the Syrian and world revolution.
