9th Anniversary of the assassination of Abu al-Bara Syria
- November 1, 2025

Tribute to comrade Abu Al Baraa from the Liga Socialista de los Trabajadores Internacionalista de Bolivia (LSTI), a member of the FLTI

“Masses do not have the leadership they deserve, because they know the outer enemy but not the enemy that attacks them from within; the task at hand is to fight for a leadership that fights for the international socialist revolution and leads it to victory”

Revolutionary greetings from the Liga Socialista de los Trabajadores Internacionalista de Bolivia (Internationalist Socialist Workers' League of Bolivia) to our comrades in Syria, to the heroic struggle and resistance of the people and the Palestinian resistance, and to all comrades present. We pay tribute to Abu Al Baraa , our Trotskyist leader, revolutionary socialist, founder of Syrian Trotskyism, and to all those who fought for the triumph of the revolution in Syria, as part of a chain of revolutions for bread in the Middle East, which was covered in betrayals, besiege, and slander.

The counter-revolution in Syria would not have been possible without the siege and isolation imposed by all the treacherous leaderships of the world proletariat, particularly the World Social Forum meeting in Tunisia in mid-2013. Stalinist groups, Islamophobic currents, and servants of imperialism participated in this meeting, forming the so-called "anti-terrorist front," along with Bolivarian figures like Evo Morales, Kirchner, and Lula. As part of this siege to the Syrian masses, the Bolivarian movement played a fundamental role; as part of that policy, after expropriating the Latin American revolution of the early 21st century, they declared at that meeting that the Syrian masses were all terrorists. Thus, they separated them from the Latin American and international proletariat and their support for the Syrian revolution. This was their central role to besiege the revolution and allowing al-Assad, on behalf of imperialism, free rein to massacre the revolution.

That is to say, not only did they disrupt the revolutionary offensives of the working class in Latin America but they also separated it from the struggle of the working class in Syria.
That was the role of the Bolivarians, who, after imperialism used them to contain the masses, when the fascist coup came in Bolivia and the offensive in Latin America under the command of the US started, ran away, leaving the masses alone, while the masses in the streets were treated as terrorists, just like the Syria, while the poor workers and peasants in Bolivia took to the streets shouting "Rifle, Shrapnel, Bolivia won't shut up” and “Now yes, civil war!" and confronted the fascist coup of Añez, the Armed Forces and the police.

Likewise in Bolivia, there were organizations like the Partido Obrero Revolucionario (Revolutionary Workers' Party POR), which claims to be Trotskyist and to fight for socialism, that were part of the siege and openly supported the murderer al-Assad. They pursued the nefarious policy of forming a Anti-Imperialist Revolutionary Front (RAF) with the murderers of the Syrian masses. Through this policy, they orchestrated votes at the national congresses of the Miners' Federation in 2011 and 2013 to support the murderer Gaddafi first and then al-Assad. They had disguised the murderers of the exploited in Libya and Syria as "anti-imperialists." This was their policy, as part of the international siege of the Syrian revolution.
Other groups, like the PTS/LOR-CI, claimed in their newspaper Left Voice that a Russian helicopter flying over Aleppo was carrying “humanitarian aid” and “medicine” to the Syrian people; actually, bombs were falling! Frankly, this policy doesn't come up as a surprise to us, given that in Libya they claimed the masses were NATO troops. All these groups need to explain their role in the Syrian revolution to the vanguard.

The masses do not have the leadership they deserve, because they know the outer enemy but not the enemy that attacks them from within; that is why the task at hand is to fight for a leadership that fights for the international socialist revolution and leads it to victory.
There will be neither forgetting nor forgiving such betrayal!

Abu Al Baraa, until Socialism, always! For the victory of the international socialist revolution! We pay tribute to our comrade Mustafa Abu Jumaa, to the more than 15 fallen comrades who fought raising the banners of the Fourth International. To the thousands of martyrs: Your death and your struggle will not be in vain! We will avenge it in the battles of the Syrian and Palestinian resistance and in the uprisings of the exploited in Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, and the working class of USA, which is already fighting in the heart of the imperialist beast against the Palestinian genocide. One class, one enemy, one struggle on an international level!
