9th Anniversary of the assassination of Abu al-Bara Syria
- November 1, 2025
From Russia, Andrey Sedov, correspondent for “The International Workers’ Organizer”
“Nine years ago, representatives of the young generation of revolutionaries defied the worst butchers and criminals of the modern era (…) They did not yield to bullets, barrel bombs, or slander (…)
They proved that the victory of the oppressed over the oppressors is possible!”
On the Ninth Anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Abu al-Baraa, we can affirm that his struggle and sacrifice were not in vain. The fascist regime of Assad was overthrown before our very eyes less than a year ago. As Abu al-Baraa’s younger brother rightly said, this victory also belongs to Mahmoud and his father, Mustafa Abu Juma’a. This family of heroes fought to return to their home, even though it was devastated and ravaged by the criminal regime and its sectarian Shia and Nusayri gangs.
But only one battle has ended; many more are yet to come. The foreign occupation of Syria, with the complicity of Sharaa-Julani's treacherous "technocratic" (kleptocratic) government, continues: the bases housing Putin's soldiers, the murderers of the Syrian people, remain in Khmeimim and Tartus. The Kurdish bourgeoisie, represented by the YPG, is abandoning its territory to the occupiers: Russians and the US. Moreover, the new Syria faces Zionist invasion, occupation, and bombing. The blood of Syrian martyrs has been spilled once again in the Daraa province. The Zionist enemy relies on the surviving Assadist bands in Sweida, who now fight under the banners of the Nazi state of Israel.
Hundreds of thousands of poor and exploited Syrians have still not returned from the refugee camps. The grim backdrop to Julani's handshakes with Putin the Butcher is the ruins of Syrian cities, destroyed by the latter. But Julani and his masters will not be able to deprive the Syrian masses of their weapons or their valuable historical experience. The Sunni bourgeoisie's government is incapable of controlling the Syrian masses, who spontaneously attack the foreign occupiers, hold rallies in support of the Palestinian people, and spontaneously mobilize against the Zionist and separatist puppet gangs.
Nine years ago, representatives of the young generation of revolutionaries defied the worst butchers and criminals of the modern era, fighting against them in the front lines near Aleppo. They did not yield to bullets, barrel bombs, or slander hurled at them by the Stalinists and other lackeys of the now bankrupt criminal regimes of Assad and Putin. They proved that the victory of the oppressed over the oppressors is possible! |
