War in Ukraine - October 2023
The workers continue to leave their dead on the battlefield, while the bourgeoisie is doing business
The Ukrainian working class must take the direction of the war to defeat the jackal Putin and break with the IMF!
More than a year and a half has passed since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine..
Thousands dead, cities devastated. And the exploited organising both resistance and supply.
And in the midst of the war, the Zelensky government imposed a brutal flexibilization of labor on the masses, while continuing to do business with imperialism, with grain sales, gas pipelines and above all the war. Because in the imperialist epoch, war is a big business. Even Russia, one of the main producers of conventional weapons, had to go out and buy armaments.
The deal is so big that the United States has already invoiced Ukraine for more than 70 billion euros in bonds and weapons, while the EU and Great Britain invoiced 156 billion euros. Because let us remember that all this "aid" that imperialism gives to Ukraine, which is nothing more than defensive weapons to barely prevent Russia's advance but not to defeat it, is to be paid back. The bourgeoisie and imperialism expect to make the masses pay for it in spades. Not to mention the billion-dollar reconstruction business, for which the transnationals are already rubbing their hands.
And while Putin Is massacring in Ukraine, he continues to repress and imprison the youth and workers in Russia who oppose this fratricidal war.
Only the proletarian revolution can resolve the crisis of this war in favour of the working class, liberating the Ukrainian nation from any oppression and the working class of Russia and the whole of Europe from exploitation, hunger and misery

The following is a letter from anarchist fighters in Ukraine against the Russian invasion
Solidarity with anarchists at war
Anarchists fighting in the ranks of the Ukrainian army or helping the Ukrainian army and civilians as volunteers need not only material but also informational support. In the Ukrainian media, this war is presented as a war for state interests, the Ukrainian right wing talks about the interests of the Ukrainian nation and declares the Russian people as the enemy of the Ukrainian people. But the people of Ukraine defend, first and foremost, their freedom, the opportunity to build a life on more equal principles in the future. The ideas of self-government are popular among the people, and before the war the anarchists enjoyed the sympathy of many ordinary people in Ukraine. Now Ukrainian anarchists, together with anarchists who came from other countries, are fighting not for the interests of Ukrainian or Western corporations or Ukrainian or Western officials, but to free the country from imperial invaders and give it a chance for free development. The defeat of the Russian empire will mean a chance of free development for the peoples of Russia and Belarus and the release from the torture prisons of fellow anarchists and all those who were imprisoned for protesting against Russian aggression.
In Ukraine there is no possibility to form separate anarchist units. Anarchists are scattered all over the front, they fight in common and sometimes give their lives in this war. The anarchists who did not go to the front are participating in the volunteer movement. Ukrainian volunteers play a key role in providing the fighters with everything they need, evacuating civilians, assisting the wounded, helping those in danger and protecting the interests of the workers. Without grassroots popular self-organization, in which anarchists take an active part, resistance to the aggressor would be impossible.
Anarchists communicate with their comrades-in-arms and through voluntary work, and it is in that communication that horizontal connections are established that can become the basis of the future post-war society. But they do not have the resources to counter right-wing propaganda. This is a task for anti-authoritarian forces all over the world.
On September 23, Latvian anarchists held a demonstration in support of their Ukrainian comrades. They marched with a black banner through the centre of Riga and held a small demonstration in front of the monument to the workers, heroes of the 1905 revolution. A Ukrainian anarchist who spoke at the rally told how the Russian authorities are turning his own country into a concentration camp and how important it is to counteract the expansion of the Russian dictatorship. The procession was followed by an open-air concert at which donations were collected for military equipment for Ukrainian anarchist fighters.
We call on comrades all over the world to join in the informational support to the anarchists defending Ukraine!
