April 2019
Towards May Day 2019
Let the workers of Zimbabwe rise!
For a May Day Internationalist and to the struggle for the socialist Revolution!
Mnangagwa and all the imperialist bandits out of Zimbabwe and the entire tormented Africa!
Workers International League (WIL-ZIM) salutes all workers, unemployed workers, the oppressed poor, students and all various groups who are fighting for workers justice, for freedom and for equal pay for equal work.
Workers in Zimbabwe there are nothing to celebrate for this day. Today estimate of Zimbabwean workers in the formal and informal has seen over 80% of the generality of people living below the living wage. Harassment of workers in the informal economy by the police and local authorities remains the order of the day. Formal workers suffer from repressive and capitalistic laws that deter them from fully exercising their rights. Zimbabweans has been hit by a new wave of prices increases trigged by the plunging RTGS dollar rate on the parallel market against the United States dollar amid high inflation, effectively eroding the marginal cost of living.
The International Workers’ Day in Zimbabwe must be a day of struggle at the service of fighting against the unprecedented misery conditions that the workers are suffering. We need to organize the forces to overthrow the government of the military dictatorship in Zimbabwe! Instead, the trade union bureaucracy of ZCTU lead us to join the MDC, lead us to the feet of the boss parties. Unfortunately, this bureaucracy doesn’t represent the interest of the workers but of that the MDC an anti-worker of the bosses and western imperialism. In last year’s Zimbabwean elections, the leaders of the ZCTU called to vote for the MDC. So did ISO, which has renegaded from socialism long time ago.
ISO supported the MDC on the elections, and now they say MDC don't give internal democracy to discuss. Have they realized about this just now, when that bourgeois party, agent of imperialism, has supported ZANU-PF and the IMF-servant generals for decades, by providing a “democratic” varnish to them?
However, the traps of the MDC and the trade union bureaucracy are unmasked day by day before the eyes of the workers’ vanguard in Zimbabwe.
This May Day we declare that there’s no chance of taking a single step in building a socialist revolutionary workers party if we don’t break with the bourgeoisie and struggle to conquer the most absolute independence of the working class from its executioners. We cannot even think about building a socialist revolutionary party in any country by standing in solidarity with the enemies of the working class worldwide.
Our brothers from South Africa that built up the “Socialist Revolutionary Workers’ Party” (SRWP) have this danger, as that party is being tried to be subjected to the Stalinist parties of China and Cuba, which have sold out the socialist conquests to world imperialism and restored capitalism. This is the danger in which they are, as that party is attempted to be brought to supporting the “Bolivarian Revolution” scam, which expropriated the anti-imperialist struggle of the Latin American masses. In that sub-continent, Trump and the US step on their “backyard”. The native bourgeoisies have surrendered long time ago. Lula, blessed by the church, turned himself into the bourgeois justice in Brazil, when the workers wanted to defend him. Maduro pays to the IMF and imperialism until the last penny of the foreign debt rip-off, when imperialism besieges, attacks and blocks Venezuela.
On this May Day, we affirm that nobody can fight on behalf of the socialist revolution in any country of the world if they support the counterrevolutionary fascist forces, such as Al Assad or Putin, which massacre the heroic Syrian revolution. At the recently held SRWP congress, a scandalous silence was kept on this, as their leadership supports Al Assad, as all the Stalinist Communist Parties of the world do.
For the workers of Zimbabwe it is clear that in the entire Africa the coward native bourgeoisies only seek a partnership with imperialism. They can’t carry out a struggle for national and social liberation of the working class in the subjugated countries at all. The workers of Africa are witnesses of such sellout of the national struggle made by the millionaire black bourgeoisies that subjugate a sea of black slaves, which they are able to do as they have the collaboration of the trade union bureaucracies and that of those who speak on behalf of “socialism” and support them.
On this May Day, we call to put all the forces of the workers’ organizations in Zimbabwe to fight for coordinating the workers’ struggles and to set up strong fighting organizations of the working class, capable of leading the poor peasants and all the exploited masses of the nation, over the basis of fighting for a revolutionary workers’ and peasants’ government. This government would be the only one capable of solving the most pressing problems of the exploited and to break with imperialism that plunders all our wealth.
The task of the moment is no other than preparing and organizing a national struggle plan on the streets, until defeating this infamous military dictatorship, until no trace is left of it, to break with the IMF.
On May Day 2019, we need to stand up to fight for our job, our bread and life of our families.
We want Jobs for all and a living wage! Reduce the working hours so all the available workers can produce in the farms and the cities! Equal pay for equal work!
Expropriation of the capitalists, bankers and transnational companies without compensation and under workers’ control! Break with the IMF! Recover the land for the people to eat! Public works plan to get electricity, housing, health and education for all, based on progressive taxes on the big fortunes and wealth!
Workers of Zimbabwe! It is time to confront determinedly the imperialism that plunders our nations and with their governments kill, repress, and stave workers in the entire tormented Africa and world.
The working class needs to set up struggle organization to unite its ranks, to break with the bourgeoisie, its governments and parties which just lie to us when they speak on behalf of our struggle and claim to defend our interests.
The time is now to set up a true National Congress of employed, unemployed workers, militant youth and poor peasants to fight together against the military dictatorship. Let’s unite our forces against the democracy for the rich, we need the democracy of those below to win! Let’s unite, regroup and have a powerful working movement to defeat the government of Mnangagwa and his minions, the transnational companies and the slaver bosses!
Open the road for the revolutionary general strike, for Mnangagwa to fall and put an end to this infamous military dictatorship and all its accomplices, even the “pseudo-democratic” ones which deceive the people to support that dictatorship!
In this fight we cannot continue fighting divided country by country. Capitalists are organized internationally in their attacks and offensives against the oppressed ones. We need the international unity of the working class throughout Southern Africa, Africa and worldwide. Only the working class of Zimbabwe, united to the working class of all Southern Africa, is the one that can guarantee the bread, the land, the national independence and even the struggle for the broadest democratic liberties.
Only by joining our worker brothers in Europe and USA we will be able to free the black workers, which are exploited as slaves, as it happens here in the tormented Africa.
On this May Day, we are the revolted Sudan and Algeria in Northern Africa; we are slaves, as our bothers that are taken to the imperialist Europe, and we want to remove our shackles once again; we are the Syrian resistance; we are Palestinian from Gaza; we are the Yellow Vests; we are the world working class.
To be able to eat and have a decent life, it is necessary to fight for the victory of the socialist revolution!
Out with the military dictatorship!
For a revolutionary provisional government of workers and poor peasants, supported in the revolutionary mobilization of the masses, their self-defense committees and soldier committees!
For the oppressed to live, imperialism must die!
For the United Socialist States of the Black Republics in central and southern Africa!
