Answer from the FLTI to the JRCL-RMF
Comrades of the JRCL-RMF,
We have received with great enthusiasm your note of solidarity for May 1st. We are publishing it on the cover of our website along with all the interventions and combats that we are waging from the FLTI at this time.
We are approaching May 1 in the midst of what is already a semi-insurrectionary general strike in Colombia. There the masses have won the streets for 3 days, with barricade fights, factory strikes, self-defense pickets. A true revolutionary general strike has started against a sharp increase in the salary tax, the increase in VAT and in all the prices of the family basket. A new revolutionary struggle is hitting Latin America, as yesterday in Ecuador and Chile, with this general strike in Colombia that has been transformed into an open political mass struggle.
The Duque government has unleashed a brutal repression. They have set up a soccer stadium to lock up the imprisoned fighters, in the same way as Pinochet in Chile in 1973.
In Chile, today the Stalinist trade union bureaucracy of the CUT has also called for a general strike. It is trying to get ahead in order to control and divert the fighting that is taking place in the heart of the Chilean proletariat, both in dock workers and the mineworkers movement. At the same time it tries to regain it's old prestige after having boycotted the entire revolutionary struggle of the Chilean masses. Their objective is not to be passed over again by the hatred of the exploited, as is happening today in Colombia. This question is open. The working class and the rebellious masses of Chile are fighting to defeat the Piñera government and the Pinochetista regime, which is supported by all the treacherous leaderships with a call for voting candidates for the “Constituent Convention” that tries to reform the civic-military regime.
In relation to the latter, there is a statement from the comrades of Chile giving an account of our position on the struggle of the dock workers and this general strike.
Again about the Colombian question, we have already sent you the statement of our comrades from Colombia regarding the strike on 4/28. Here we attach the statements of yesterday and today, along with videos and photos of the mass struggle in that country, which is under the control of 9 US military bases and has an openly counterrevolutionary government, sustained in a pact with Castroism in Havana that disarmed all the resistance of the peasant movement.
We are facing a huge blow by the left wing of the masses from Colombia and the Caribbean against the capitalist restoration in Cuba.
In Colombia, embryos of factory and workplace committees, assemblies in popular neighborhoods, committees of health workers and students have emerged, which are coordinated by city and are the ones that organize the huge mobilizations and battles in the streets.
We are facing what would seem to be revolutionary action days, as Lenin said. The evolution of the situation depends on whether the indefinite general strike that is already underway, while bypassing the treacherous leaderships, advances to disarm the police and overthrow the government.
The class struggle is already entering the army rank-and-file, as it happened at the beginning of the revolutionary uprising in Chile in 2019.
In Colombia a new situation is opening up that will be defined by the masses with their combats in the streets.
The struggle for a revolutionary leadership becomes decisive. In Colombia there are 3 revolutionary nuclei in Cali, Pereira, Villavicencio and Bogotá that adhere to the FLTI. We have turned all our strength to collaborate with them. From now on, it becomes an essential task to do it in common with all revolutionary Marxists in the world.
In the photos you will be able to see the flags of the comrades in the mobilizations and the solidarity with the Syrian and Chilean masses that they have raised in the actions in the streets. We will keep you up to date with the developments.
Furthermore, comrades, as you may know, the Palestinian masses have risen up, which is an enormous fact since, surpassing their leadership, they have once again won the streets in Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank. The defensive Intifada is placed in an offensive position, breaking the limits imposed by the Stalinist and bourgeois collaborationist leaderships with the infamous policy of the “two states” supported by the UN, imperialism and Zionism. It only serves to put the oppressed and martyred Palestinian masses in batustans and ghettos.
From Idlib, Syria, they are winning the streets in support of the Palestinian masses. In Jerusalem the flag is flying of the Syrian revolution. In Jordan and throughout the diaspora there are mobilizations of the Palestinian people.
This is how this May 1st. meets us. The immediate future of the international working class largely depends on the development of these battles.
For the masses to live, imperialism must die!
We must fight together across borders!
Long live the international unity of the working class!
A hug,
Carlos Munzer
