In Buenos Aires - Argentina, it was held the rally against the massacre in Ghouta
Called for the Committee for Syria from Argentina the protest against the massacre in Ghouta was held in the very center of the city.
Democracia Obrera, Izquierda Socialista, Comuna Socialista, Convergencia Socialista de Combate, all of them took part in the demonstration.
They all took the word to denounce the massacre and calling to multiply these actions in solidarity with Syrian people against the massacre of Al Assad and Putin commanded by Trump.
March 15 marks the seventh anniversary of the Syrian revolution and it is a new opportunity. It is an obligation for all of those who were there today in Callao and Corrientes Street to organize a great demonstration to the Embassy of the killer Al Assad calling all the workers from Argentina, the social organizations and human right organizations to join us and to be hundreds of us fighting to stop the massacre in Ghouta, Idlib and in all Syria.
Rally in Buenos Aires, Argentina: ¡Let´s stop the massacre in Ghouta!
Leandro (Arabic paper The Truth of the Oppressed) speech
Good afternoon comrades. We are here, as the comrades said, as part of the international actions that are fighting to stop the massacre in Ghouta, in Idlib, and to all the Syrian masses that are being massacred by Bashar and Putin. It is a counterrevolutionary massacre that seeks to crush the last trenches of the revolution, such as Ghouta, Idlib, the areas that are still liberated from the province of Aleppo...
Comrades, there are hundreds and hundreds of death every day. There are missiles, barrel bombs, chemical weapons, white phosphorus, napalm... Ghouta is besieged and this prevents the entrance of all kinds of food, water and medicines. They also shoot their most powerful missile which is the hunger and misery with which they are also killing children due to starvation and women and men who could have been saved, for lack of medical attention; everything organized from a sinister counterrevolutionary conference in Geneva and concealed under a cloak of the UN, which has called to a "ceasefire" which is a trap, since all it does is to cover up this massacre that does not stop, does not stop, and every day costs hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dead.
If this is possible it is because Bashar Al Assad had his hands free to do so. Because parties speaking in the name of the anti-imperialist struggle of the masses said that Bashar was "anti-imperialist" and called for his support throughout the world. They supported that genocidal fascist and his counterrevolutionary massacres.
There are currents that called for not taking any action and dedicating themselves to ask for the US to send weapons, because they said that the United States was democratic and opposed to Bashar. The USA, ruling imperialism in the world, the greatest terrorist and genocidal in the world, all they did was to clear the skies so that Bashar and Russia bomb and massacre at large scale; and they also sent all their other agents of the Sunni generals of the Free Syrian Army the democratic ones, the supposedly Muslims of Al Nusra, to contain and sell out every rebel city as we saw it in Aleppo, Homs and many others.
All together from these parties said that the enemy was terrorism; that the enemy was ISIS and not Al Assad. They made the workers of the world believe that what was being massacred, that the children and women who are now dying in Ghouta "are all Muslims and terrorists" and thus imperialism and all its agents have green light to make such a massacre.
Against this massacre, the masses of Idlib have risen. They are the oppressed masses, those who made the revolution. They marched to the war cry of "we open the fronts, for the unity of all the combats, for the fall of the regime; march to Ghouta to save Ghouta, to break the siege."
But the leaders of all the bourgeois parties, the Free Syrian Army, Jabhat al Nusra -now called Hayat Tahrir al Sham- are not doing it. What is being massacred in Ghouta is the Syrian working class. Yes, Ghouta, the outskirts of Damascus, is a center of worker concentration. Working neighborhoods of Damascus where Bashar Al Assad does not control also demonstrated, because they are working-class neighborhoods. It is the working class making the revolution, and they are being massacred. And all the parties that claim to speak on behalf of anti-imperialism are turning a blind eye.
We are here today precisely supporting all of them; all those who are marching and all those who are standing all those leaders, who are guised as revolutionaries, Jabhat al Nusra, Ahrar al Sham, Nuridin Al Zenki, and do not do it. That’s because they are bourgeois who prefer to commit suicide before seeing these workers liberated.
Today, what they are doing is disputing a piece of power from some villages in Idlib. Yes, the Islamic wings of the Free Syrian Army such as Ahrar al Sham and Nuridin Al Zenkimerged together and began attacking cities controlled by Al Nusra. In moments when Idlib is falling and they are massacring the last trenches of the revolution, the only thing that is in their interest is a bit of power. The only thing that is in their interest is business. They have not fired a single bullet against the regime. They are doing the opposite of what the masses are asking in their demonstrations when they take to the streets.
Therefore, what the masses say is true. The revolution belongs to the people, not to the brigades. Then, the weapons have to return to the people. Disarm the generals who are in Geneva, who are carrying the counterrevolution in Syria with all! Open the fronts! March to free Ghouta, to break the siege!
There are enough forces to do it. There are 15 million workers displaced from their homes by the massacre of Al Assad, by the demolition because of the aerial bombardment of all their cities and houses, which are in tents in the middle of nowhere. The refugees, internally displaced, fifteen million people, wish to return to fight. Comrades, they are looking to get their houses back.
To recover their houses, to get bread, March to Damascus! In that city, there is the central bank, where Bashar and his cousin Rami Makhlouf stole the wealth of the Syrian people for years. Expropriating it without compensation we will have wealth for the Syrian people to lead their revolution to victory.
March to Damascus for bread and houses!
The people want the downfall of the regime!
Out with Al Assad! Out with all the invading troops of Syria!
Down with the Geneva conference!
In the eyes of the world, we are facing the biggest genocide or one of the biggest genocides in the 21st century. It is a genocide, as many comrades have said, to crush a revolution, which is not Syrian and was not Syrian, but in the entire Maghreb and the Middle East. That revolution left imperialism, all the governments and regimes of the region, broken up; and today they are trying to crush their last revolutionary trenches in Syria.
But all this is being done -and that is why we denounce-by the Geneva conference. The Geneva conference and the UN, for 7 years let Al Assad continue massacring. It worked as a table of operations and coordination where each of those who are intervening in the counter-revolution in Syria are playing their role of seeing where each one crushes and betrays the revolution.
In 7 years of civil war, comrades, there were almost no mistakes between them. There were two or three cases where such or such a plane went down, where such or that drone or tank was destroyed. For 7 years, from Geneva, with the irruption of US imperialism, Putin, Erdogan, Iran and all those in Geneva were coordinating this massacre. They are all responsible for this genocide.
They have always voted for Al Assad to continue. Al Assad has his hands dirty and the one who has to go to every city and province that was taken by the masses and set up their dual power structures, to destroy them and reconstitute the bourgeois Syrian state again, imposing fascism. That is the role of Al Assad. That's why Geneva is there. And this is the role Al Assad is playing.
This is what is happening in Syria today, also in Afrin. In Afrin, comrades, Turkish imperialism threatened to invade to impose what we see today; to impose that Al Assad with the Syrian army enter and disarm all the Kurdish people.
The Kurdish people, comrades, was led, by the policy of the PKK and the Kurdish bourgeoisie-who do not want the self-determination of the Kurdish people, who are there to negotiate and see what part of the bloody Syria they can bite, as they are doing in Iraq-to break away from the revolutionary front to the Kurdish people they had with the Syrian revolted masses. Today they are paying the consequences. Today we see how they are imposing on the Kurdish people to submit and discipline Al Assad and US imperialism, as they are doing in Afrin.
If they want self-determination, it is necessary to do as the Syrian masses in Idlib: to open a front against Al Assad in Afrin, join the resistance in Idlib, march to Ghouta to break the siege, march to Damascus where the power of Al Assad is.
Comrades, by the hand of US imperialism and Al Assad, the self-determination of the Kurdish people is not gained, as the Kurdish bourgeoisie and the PKK want to make us believe.
Comrades, it is necessary for these actions to be repeated throughout the world. The only way to stop the massacre, and the key to stop the massacre is the world working class; the American working class has the key to prevent the genocidal Trump from continuing supporting Al Assad and the massacre.
The working class of the European countries has the key; the working class of the countries of the world has the key. That is why it is necessary to open the fronts not only in Syria but to open the fronts against imperialism to stop the war machine all over the world. That is why we call to reproduce these actions, and all of us here have next appointment on March 15th. We have to call the working class all over the world, the working class of Argentina, to march to the Syrian embassy, to impose and continue issuing this message. This is for many of the comrades that are here. Because the only thing that can prevent the massacre today is to march all over the world. And the only way, comrades, as it is demonstrated, is the revolution. It is the socialist revolution in Syria and throughout the region.
Because if Al Assad is imposed, fascism is imposed in Syria, fascism is imposed throughout the region. They are preparing and fully arming Zionism back so that it can recover firepower throughout the region. And if not, what does it mean Trump already hurrying to declare Jerusalem capital of Zionism?
They are preparing and they are trying to massacre until the last of the trenches, for Zionism to regain firepower to massacre and be the agent of US imperialism in the region. So nothing more comrades.
Once again, we have an appointment of honor on March 15th, to surround the Syrian embassy, on the seventh anniversary of the Syrian revolution.
We have to go to discuss against all those who are telling the working class that Al Assad is the anti-imperialist. We have to go to discuss against all those who are saying that those who are fighting in Ghouta and Idlib are Islamic Muslims. We have to defend that it is the people who fight for bread. We have to go to that discussion against all the friends of the capitalist regimes that are on Al Assad's side. Because they are not neutral. They end up on the side of Al Assad, supporting Corbyn, supporting the British Labour, the anti-capitalists and supporting all the regimes that are massacring in the region.
We must go and give this discussion in Argentina and in the world. Nothing more, thank you very much.
