Brutal offensive of Al Assad and Putin over Idlib
The resistence wages battle
For weeks, the fascists Al Assad and Putin launched a brutal offensive on the last trenches of the revolution. The bombings are brutal, focused mainly in the cities of the south-west of that area, which is southern Idlib countryside and northern Hama countryside. There are hundreds of new martyrs, wounded and mostly hundreds of thousands of displaced seeking for shelter from the bombings. Those are hundreds of thousands of families living in tents, outside the cities, even living under the trees. Al Assad has attacked Idlib, which is under the siege not only by his and allies’ armies, but also by US imperialism (which is occupying the Syrian northwest, together with their Gurkha, the YPG, and have taken over Syrian oil) and by Turkey, which keeps its borders shut.
Thus Assad and Putin’s armies launched an attack last Friday. They managed to enter and occupy the cities of Qalaat al Mudiq, Tal Otma and Kafr Nabuda. By doing so, the Turkish forces that were in outposts surrounding Idlib folded back and returned to their borders, opening the way for such an attack, showing the counterrevolutionary pact that Erdogan has with Putin and Al Assad, under the US command, from the conferences of Geneva, Sochi and Astana.
The resistance responded. It grouped together; a joint operation table was set up and fights unified in the front of southwestern Idlib. They had managed to retake cities which were taken by Al Assad, but then this dog was able to advance over other cities, such as Sahel and Ghab. Thousands of young fighters enlist themselves to fight at the front. They take the weapons that the FSA or HTS (former Al Nusra) kept away. Once again, there are demonstrations in the cities of Idlib, headed by women, against Al Assad and in support of the resistance at the front, at the war cry “Open the fronts!” In these demonstrations, they also burnt a Turkish flag denouncing Erdogan as a traitor.
There are fierce clashes, with all types of weaponry. There are decisive battles of the Syrian revolution underway. Al Assad bombs ruthlessly, targeting hospitals, schools, houses… he wants to massacre until the last of the exploited who “dared” to rise for bread and dignity in 2011.
This massacre, as the brutal massive bombing campaign over Idlib that has been ongoing for several days, comes alter the masses were taken off the streets. In September 2018 they marched every Friday, by hundreds of thousands, against the regime claiming they will defend Idlib until the last breath, denouncing the counterrevolutionary pacts such as Sochi and also they denounced those who wanted to sell them out. They said, “Open the fronts and let the brigades unite,” to confront Al Assad. But the opposite happened. In January last year not only the fronts against Al Assad were not opened, but also there were military clashes against HTS and the FSA for Idlib’s control, which ended with these mass actions. They were taken off the streets. HTS ended up imposing its control and entering the business over the basis of the Syrian genocide. Al Assad, seeing the masses under control, launched an attack not only to massacre them but also to displace the bourgeois sector of HTS from the business of running an entire governorate such as Idlib.
The masses responded and waged battle. They went back to the streets and to open the fronts fighting against Al Assad, even going to recover the heavy weaponry that the bourgeois generals of HTS and the FSA had kept hidden away.
In this situation, all the parties that claim to be left and the leaderships of the workers organizations in the world keep a scandalous accomplice silence about this massacre and attack of Al Assad. They are the ones that turn the lights off and cover everything with silence for the murderer to finish his job, in this case, for the dog Bashar to complete the Syrian genocide and drown in blood the glorious revolution that started in 2011.
They laid a siege on the Syrian masses. They openly supported Al Assad and Putin, saying they were “anti-imperialist” and “anti-Zionist”, affirming that in Syria there was no working class but “jihadists” and “terrorists”.
This was said from the capital cities of the imperialist countries and they refused to raise the war cry, “The enemy is at home,” covering up for their own imperialist governments and telling the workers the enemies were the “terrorists” of Syria… which led to a green light for Putin and Al Assad to do the “dirty work” of all the imperialist powers massacring the masses, while the refugees are stockpiled in tents in the borders, or in concentration camps in Maastricht Europe.
Some of them claimed to be on the side of the Syrian revolution and they only supported FSA generals, which under Turkey’s command, from the Geneva counterrevolutionary pact, have only sold out the rebel cities one by one, as happened in Daraa, Homs, Ghouta. One way or the other, they supported Geneva conference, from where the attacks to the Syrian masses are being coordinated, such as that in southern Idlib.
These Stalinist and renegades of Trotskyism parties are also responsible for reaching this situation, with more than 600,000 massacred and 15 million refugees. They supported the attacks on the rebel masses.
We present in this site some reports and articles published by our paper “The Truth of the Oppressed” of the socialists of Syria and Middle East, accounting the current combats, the massacre of Al Assad and Putin and stating a program for the last trenches of the revolution not to fall and move onto the counter-offensive to defeat the dog Bashar.
The last focuses of the Syrian revolution are being massacred. We cannot let this happen! Let’s take to the streets of the imperialist capital cities and march to the Syrian and Russian embassies around the world to stop the massacre of Al Assad and in support to the Syrian resistance!
Break the siege on the Syrian masses and on Gaza masses, which are fighting to recover their territory and are slaughtered by Zionism!
Long live the mass uprising in Algeria and Sudan!
In the entire Maghreb and Middle East, one single struggle!
