Tribute in the 5th anniversary of Abu Al Baraa's death
Cheo, former member of the Simón Bolivar Brigade, and leader of the Núcleo Obrero Internacionalista, adherent to the FLTI
It is a special honor to share with all of you this tribute to Comrade Abu al-Baraa.
It was the Syrian revolution that led me to learn about the existence of the Leon Sedov Brigade (BLS). In it I felt the continuity of militant internationalism, which was believed to have ended after the surrender of Stalinism in 1989 and the fall of the already bureaucratically degenerate workers states.
From that internationalist character of our class, we converged with the comrade as in the past, it was May Day, as was the Spanish revolution in the 1930s and the Cuban revolution in Latin America, and the Nicaraguan revolution in 1979, in which it enlisted me as internationalist fighter in the Simón Bolívar brigades and we went to fight for the victory of the Central American revolution as part of the Latin American and world revolution.
That is why today we pay our tribute to Comrade Abu Al Baraa, who fought that fight in Syria, rescuing and collecting the best traditions of militant internationalism.
The participation of our young comrade Abu al-Baraa as a fighter, strategist, writer and journalist in the revolutionary process that the Syrian people have been carrying out since 2011, was a great contribution to the world proletariat.
The revolutionary Abu al-Baraa, was a principled revolutionary who did not allow his BLS combat team to be compared to mercenaries. In his struggle, as in the Syrian people's struggle, he was a very important component. He raised the signs of solidarity with the world revolution and showed a true example of this struggle through militant internationalism. Comrade Abu al-Baraa, along with his BLS comrades and other comrades in struggle, knew that it was not only his people who would fight against imperialism and capitalist oppression, but that this fight must be part of the fight that we should be promoting until the victory of the socialist revolution around the world.
So we must follow his example of continuous struggle, his courage in battle, his call for militant internationalism on every street, in every district, in every city and town, under the banners of the Fourth International of 1938, our world Party of the socialist revolution.
Today we see that in the Middle East and Latin America the working class has risen up against the regimes of the capitalists and imperialism in hard battles such as the uprisings and revolutionary processes here (Colombia), in Ecuador, Chile and the same American working class that led Trump to hide like a rat down under 14 stories in the basements of the White House. New revolutionary foci, a product of the same conditions in politics and the world economy, are set up on both continents.
In this same way, we are united by the fight against big capital that has centralized its attack against the exploited all over the world with labor flexibility, taxes, high cost of living and therefore more hunger on the semi-colonial world.
The working class and the Colombian people have just starred in a huge betrayed revolution, for which, like the Syrian revolution, we were treated as vandals and terrorists, being isolated and fenced from within, by all the reformism and the pseudo-left that allowed the Duque's counterrevolutionary offensive as fascist and murderous as Syrian Assad.
Abu al-Baraa and all the revolutionary socialists who fought and fell with hundreds of thousands of workers and young rebels in the Syrian revolution, will always be an example to follow in the international struggle of the world working class, until the victory of socialism.
There will be neither forgetting nor forgiveness for those who forced to silence, slander and sell the Syrian revolution, who were complicit of its executioners. The imperial-socialist left-wingers and Stalinist who supported Assad and imperialism have their hands stained with the blood of the millions of workers and peasants killed during the greatest genocide of this century.
Today we must confidently say:
Comrade Abu al-Baraa, you are present and fighting in our hearts !!!
Thank you comrades.
