Las Heras, Argentina - October 24th, 2021
Tribute in the 5th anniversary of Abu Al Baraa's death
Tribute by Claudia Pafundi, from the International Network for the Liberation of the World Political Prisoners
Comrades,
From Las Heras in Patagonia we could not miss this date of honor in tribute to Abu al Baraa on the fifth anniversary of his assassination in Syria for fighting for the triumph of the revolution.
We as part of the Commission of Convicted Workers, Relatives and Friends of Las Heras made a call in 2013 to all the workers' organizations of the world to fight against the court that sentenced us to life imprisonment and jail for fighting. Comrade Abu al Baraa unhesitatingly stood in solidarity with us together with the Syrian revolutionary youth and workers who were rising up against the fascist Al Assad.
From that day on we never separated. We unite to fight for the freedom of the thousands of political prisoners in the prisons of the regime who are tortured and humiliated for standing up for bread and freedom.
We know that we are facing the same enemy, which are the oil companies that have sent their judges and the government to condemn us in order to punish us. Those are the same oil companies and transnationals that called on Al Assad and Putin to bathe the oppressed of Syria in blood and show the world what they are capable of doing to the workers who stand up for their rights.
Despite the fact that our comrades went through prison and persecution, despite having been sentenced to life imprisonment, today they continue and we continue to stand united in the struggle for the freedom of all political prisoners in the world and justice for our martyrs.
The struggle of the working class across borders is the road to win the acquittal of our comrades. And we are convinced that this is the same road for the revolution in Syria to triumph, joining forces with our working class brothers in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, the United States and Europe.
We workers have to rely on our own forces and strike as one fist. The Syrian revolution has been slandered and betrayed, but we know that the only way to resolve our demands is to unite in a single struggle against the regimes and governments and also against the traitors.
The comrade Abu al Baraa fell fighting in Aleppo and we will not forget him, his struggle is still present in the hearts of all of us who are fighting today in every corner of the planet. Abu al Baraa is a revolutionary who cannot be replaced by anyone, but thousands will follow his path.
From Patagonia we will be the spokesmen of his revolution, of the indomitable resistance that moves all workers. That is why from the International Network for the Freedom of Political Prisoners and Justice for Our Martyrs we want to carry the voices of the prisoners, of the persecuted, of their wives and children to all the workers of the world.
Together with Abu al Baraa, his family and his comrades, we set up this Network and, until justice is done, until our prisoners are released and our demands are won, we will not stop fighting.
Abu al Baraa is always present in the hearts of the workers of Patagonia.
In Las Heras we have not given up, because we don’t forget, we don’t forgive and we don’t reconcile with the murderers of our martyrs, with the exploiters and with those who do business with our blood.
That is why, as we did together with Abu al Baraa on the anniversary of our conviction on December 12, 2015, today we have to do the same for our comrades in Syria and all over the world.
For the prisoners of the resistance in Bashar's prisons. For the prisoners in Colombia and Chile, for our Palestinian comrades who don’t surrender against the Israeli occupier. For the uprising workers of South Africa and the martyrs of Marikana. For the political prisoners and persecuted of Iran.
For all our martyrs and prisoners.
One single class, one single enemy, one single struggle at international level!
