Tribute in the 5th anniversary of Abu Al Baraa's death
Abu Mustafa, Abu Al Baraa's brother:
“Abu Al Baraa was part of a group of young revolutionaries who denounced that those generals who" put themselves at the head "of the revolution to betray it were all from al-Assad”
Greetings to all. Very proud to be part of this huge gathering in commemoration of the hero Abu Al Baraa. I thank everyone for being here.
Abu Al Baraa, at the end of 2011 and early 2012, was an active participant in the mobilizations that took place throughout the Aleppo region, in addition to the mobilizations that had previously existed throughout Syria. It was not long before those of us who were there were forced to go out armed to defend ourselves against the attacks of the regime. Thus we were involved in the battle of Aleppo. There, one of the counterrevolutionary leaderships, Ahrar al Sham, was present, at that time part of the Free Syrian Army.
We were part of the coordination committees and we began to realize that in addition to Ahrar al Sham there was other of these leaderships that were beginning to arrive in the city of Aleppo wanting to monopolize all the weapons we possessed. They came saying that they were from the army that was going to liberate us, and in fact they opened hundreds of fronts against the regime, in which several thousand of our comrades fell.
At first we didn’t understand why we were going to the front line and there was no one in the rear. But it was not long until we realized that all those who came to say that they were the army that was going to liberate us simply wanted to see us defeated. Abu Al Baraa was part of a group of young revolutionaries who denounced that those generals who “took the lead” of the revolution to betray it were all shabiha (Bashar's men).
There were many fights in which we were side by side. Even with my father, who was one of the leaders of the Leon Sedov Brigade. We tried to convince as many comrades as we could that the battle was not only against Bashar but also that the leaderships that had imposed themselves on the front to betray had to be faced, and it was a long and hard fight for this program.
Then came that fateful day when, in one of the fiercest combats ever, in Rashdin, the regime forces brought in a Russian sniper, and Abu Al Baraa, who was always in the forefront to defeat Assad, was killed.
Behind Abu Al Baraa were his family, a wife, children, his mother without a husband. But that didn't stop him from going to the front.
I want to thank everyone who is present at this meeting for having listened to my words. Greetings to all; greetings to the Argentine people; greetings to the Colombian people. God willing we will be one fist. And we will succeed! Thank you very much and greetings to all. |
