Tributes to Abu Al Baraa on this 5th anniversary of his assassination
Tribute from Avanzada Obrera
Abu al Baraa
Hero and Martyr of the World Socialist Revolution
Leader of the International Trotskyist Leninist Fraction - FLTI (Collective for the re-founding of the Fourth International)
Until the victory of the International Proletarian Revolution!
This coming October 24 a new year marks the fall in combat against the murderous regime of Bashar al-Asaad in the Syrian revolution of our comrade Abu Al Baraa. He was a fighter of the Leon Sedov Internationalist Brigade and Trotskyist leader of the FLTI- CI.
"Under the bullets of the fascist al-Assad and the assassin Putin supported by Obama and NATO. Defending the southern front of Aleppo, the capital of the resistance. Abu al Baraa, the socialist leader of the Syrian rebel militias, has fallen ”.
By those words, a few days after that mournful October 24, 2016, the world, the working class and its revolutionary faction, learned of the death of our comrade, to whom thousands of anonymous heroes of the resistance to the jackal paid homage and honored his name.
"I have in my hands the book of a dead man," wrote the Argentine playwright Rafael Spregelburd in the tribute he made to our comrade from the newspaper Perfil from Argentina. But Abu al Baraa was more than a writer, than a journalist "without a visa”.
As our FLTI-CI comrades hold, Abu al Baraa “was the organizer of the forces of the Fourth International throughout the Maghreb and the Middle East. He fell fighting in the southern suburbs of Aleppo ... he was a leader of the Committee for the Refoundation of the Fourth International ... attacked in the most advanced outposts of the combat of the Syrian revolution and the world revolution ”, a bloody revolution, betrayed, tainted and slandered along with its heroic combatants, by the whole of the union bureaucracies of the planet, the Stalinist and populist parties, the reformist left and the renegades of Trotskyism, true agents of the bourgeois states, fifth columnists and dissolving elements in the ranks of the international labor movement.
“Abu al Baraa was a revolutionary…. He was the most insightful and courageous revolutionary socialist that our international current had” (the FLTI-CI).
From Avanzada Obrera in the FLTI, we make our own, with revolutionary pride and honor, these concepts that fully define a leader of the stature and worth of our comrade who fell in combat. We do it at a time when we are witnessing how the fundamental premise of the Founding Program of our world party, the Fourth International, which says that "the historical crisis of humanity is reduced to its crisis of revolutionary leadership" is made every day that passes stronger and more current.
We vindicate the revolutionary combat trajectory of the Trotskyist leader, and along with it the legacy for the generations that come out to fight, when we see how a powerful and new device of the world counterrevolution has been put in place, which means integration and the constitution of a "single party" of Stalinists and renegades of Trotskyism, centralized by the imperialist powers and that are politically and programmatically coordinated from Havana; that together or separately they betrayed, isolated and slandered this heroic revolution of the first decades of the 21st century that shook the foundations of the bourgeois order, putting the struggle for the international socialist revolution on both sides of the Mediterranean on the order of the day.
It was this chain of revolutions, preceded by the heroic uprisings in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and the Maghreb that brought the counterrevolutionary response of the bourgeoisie and its states together with their lackeys from the treacherous leaderships. That is why it aroused so much hatred, so much bourgeois revenge, so much viciousness and so much betrayal of this attempt by the exploited, plundered and oppressed masses to liquidate a system that every day pushes us more towards barbarism.
We do not want to end this brief statement, from Avanzada Obrera in the FLTI, without rescuing some fragments of the last writing of Abu Al Baraa, so that unlike the Left Oppositionists of the 1930s locked in Stalin's prisons they speak for almost a century later, this time we do it with the words of our comrade responding to the amalgam, slander and lies of the traitors, words that leave us great lessons about his legacy.
Who stood up in the revolution that began in 2011 as a link in the same chain of revolutions throughout the Maghreb and the Middle East?
“We are the ones who raise our voices and our fists for bread and freedom; those of us who knew how to see that to succeed we had to defeat Bashar al-Assad in Damascus to march on Jerusalem; those of us who saw that it was the same struggle with that of our class siblings within the great imperialist powers... We are the protagonists of these revolutions, which have been slandered, sullied and isolated from our class siblings, the workers of the European countries, America and around the world. Because they told us that we were barbarians, religious sectarians, fundamentalists, terrorists ... everything except what we truly are: workers fighting for what is ours, class twins of the workers of the West and of the whole world ”.
“We are workers, people who earn a living working from sunrise to sunset, who are tired of being oppressed by a system that robs us and leaves us in misery. Pushed by our conditions of suffering, we find ourselves in the obligation to be revolutionaries to be able to change this system for another, and internationalists because regardless of nation, religion or language we see that those who exploit us are the same, and those who suffer are always us" .
This was the flesh and the ideology of the revolution in 2011, and will be in the future revolutions that cross the planet. Comrade Abu al Baraa, the enemy's murderous bullets would have silenced your heartbeat, but they will never be able to silence your voice, your legacy, your sacrifice, and the lessons for generations of future combatants.
Our commitment and our revolutionary task is to keep them alive with your flags raised.
Abu al Baraa until the victory of the world socialist revolution!
Long live the Syrian revolution!
Death to imperialism and its lackeys!
Long live the struggle to re-found the Fourth International!
