PICKET, HUNGER STRIKE AND FIGHTING BY 12,000 REFUGEES IN GREEK BORDER WITH MACEDONIA
A cry and a call by thousands of refugees cutting Greek routes in demand to entering Europe:
"Open the borders! We want our family! We are not going to eat until they open the borders!”
"We did not come to be given a piece of bread in a concentration camp! We are being enclosed in a country! We need you help us get to Europe!”
Refugees in tents and in concentration camps:
This is the European Union!”
Today a picket of refugees in tents in the rain and cold in Idomeini has cut the Greek road linking Thessaloniki with Idomeini and Macedonia. In Greece's borders with Macedonia there are more than 12,000 refugees.
While NGOs increasingly retire over the place and leave them isolated, after bringing them some water and a piece of bread, their cry is "No water, no bread! Open the borders, we want to enter Europe ". That is the demand of thousands of refugees who are under humiliating conditions. Today, hundreds of them are on hunger strike.
The European Union puts them in real concentration camps, leaves them in the open in tents in the rain or cold, or deports them to Turkey or Syria.
Yesterday a refugee set himself on fire. EU wants to forward them all to their countries of origin where it knows perfectly well that they and their families will be directly killed or stay as living dead.
The methods of desperate struggle take a step forward now: refugees organize themselves, put in place coordinators of the camps; they pass to the hunger strike, the denial of entry of food to the camps to achieve open borders; then, from hunger strike they pass to pickets that have stopped all transit of goods from Greece to Macedonia. It is the working class of the Maghreb and the Middle East struggling with the methods of the working class, with the strike and picket! They do not want alms; they want to open the borders to get into Europe!
Open the way to the refugees!
Everyone to Idomeini, to Policastro! All with volunteers who will look for their brothers refugees in Greece so that they can enter Macedonia!
From Aleppo to Greece and Europe: one class, one struggle!
Greek labor organizations and unions cannot continue looking the other way. The leaders of the PC and the Social Democrats make the martyred Greek working class show the cold shoulder to their brothers in the Maghreb and the Middle East who are struggling to enter Europe; the same do all social-imperialist parties and trade union bureaucracies, servants of the imperialist bourgeoisie, who live as miserable traitors of the world working class with coins that fall from the table of exploitation and looting of the semi colonial world.
Despite them, the workers, including the unemployed, lodge refugees in their homes. Humble women and even children carry them meals in the squares. The bourgeoisie and imperialism attack, confine them to concentration camps. The treacherous leaderships of the working class are who divide workers in each country, in Europe and keep the tormented masses of the Maghreb and the Middle East separated from their class brothers and sisters in the "old continent".
Greek rebellious youth, even from prisons and their self-organized collective struggle for refugees, calls for solidarity, takes over properties so that they are housed. Hundreds and hundreds of volunteers from solidarity committees and collectives from Germany, Spain, etc. are here helping the refugees.
We come from the Editorial Rudolph Klement and as correspondents of "The International Worker Organizer". Here we are putting ourselves at the disposal of the heroic struggle of refugees in Europe as we do with the masses of Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Palestine. Today we are here, following our brothers, the martyrs of Syria exploited. We did it in rebel Aleppo, in Homs... in Misratah and Tripoli in Libya, fighting against all tyrants and starvers to the people. Here, from the barricades and pickets of refugees we are writing the second part of our book "Syria under Fire". It is that here too, on the borders of Europe, rebel Syria is tortured and isolated. Revolutionary Syria, massacred by the dog Bashar and Putin under the command of Obama and NATO.
The refugees call all organizations to support them so they can come to Europe. Let's send right now delegates from all unions and labor organizations to support our brothers in Idomeini!
We have to break the siege imposed by German imperialism and Maastricht in Macedonia against refugees!
As they treat refugees, so imperialist Europe treats its workers, i.e., by attacking their conquests, through hunger, layoffs, etc. One class, one struggle!
