With betrayal and fence to the Syrian revolution held by left and union bureaucracies lackeys of imperialism
Homs has fallen, Syrian revolution’s capital
A harsh blow to the world working class |
SEE MORE ON THE SYRIAN QUESTION |
15 days ago Holms fell down in hands of dog Al-Assad. One of the bastions of the Syrian revolution was defeated by counterrevolutionary forces commanded by imperialism. It is hard blow for the Syrian insurgency and world proletariat.
Assad took control of Homs. His army occupies the city. Most of the population had been forced to live in refugee camps. Today they are coming back to Homs to recover their houses and belongings, but they did not find anything. Masses cried while they were returning to the old Homs. Whit broken voices they said: “there is nothing left; no walls, no bathroom, not even what I had inside the house”… “I came back and I saw the broken wall of my house. I went in and there was nothing inside, only the damaged walls and nothing else”. There was nothing left: This is the Homs “freed” by bloody Bashar!
Today, houses do not have walls or roofs. There is nothing inside them. Public buildings, shops, cafes, mosques, churches were demolished and ruined. The city was destroyed. Under the rubble there are thousands and thousands of martyrs of the revolution slaughtered by dog Bashar.
As part of the revolution for bread, jobs and dignity against imperialism and exploiters opened in 2011 n Northern Africa and Middle East, Homs was one of the cities where Syrian masses reached the further in their revolutionary combat. It was the center of the Syrian revolution, opened as a chain of local insurrections who divided Bashar Al-Assad’s army horizontally, set up coordination committees (which were real workers, peasants and soldiers councils) and with the methods of civil war they expel Syrian army’s troops and free the surrounding cities like Deraa, Hama, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Idlib and later Raqa. The exploited people of Syria tend to follow Libya’s path; i.e. the armed masses moving towards Damascus and demolishing the bourgeois state.
Masses of Homs conquered dual power. They set up there, as we said, Local Coordination Committees, which were the armed self-organization organisms of workers and soldiers. Homs is where rank and file soldiers took their weapons and moved to the trench of revolution. And from that moment Bashar troops could not any longer enter to the city and all it could do was bombing from outside the city or the skies, otherwise the army would break in two. This is why Al-Assad killing, on behalf of imperialism, focused there; as it did in Qsair in mid 2013.
In order to destroy armed coordination committees, a sector of Bashar officials –who so far were repressing the rebel exploited people- dressed as “democratic” and “broke with” the army and “changed” to the side of the fight against Assad. This is how the Free Syrian Army (FSA) was born, protected by Turkey and imperialism. They were generals of Bashar’s army who “changed” to the masses’ side to control them, take control of dual power organisms and destroy them from within. FSA appeared with the aim of controlling the masses in the free zones. The speeches of “democracy” were only words. In fact it imposed a strong control of party-army to end the tendency of the exploited self-organizations.
When a vanguard escape from the control of the “democracy” proposed by FSA an “Islamist wing” appeared from it to containing the masses. Lather over that sector a fraction of the Sunnite “radical Muslim” took control which was first called “Jabhat al-Nusra” and it divided in two: one with the same name and other called “Islamic State of Iraq and Sham”, in order to contain and manipulate the masses to use them as cannon fodder and dispute their business.
In the streets of Homs when the masses expelled Bashar al-Assad’s army none of the Free Syrian Army generals fought, nor the commaders of Jabhat al-Nusra. There were only the exploited people fighting for bread, who were facing the murderous army who was killing them.
Homs was one of the capitals in Northern Africa and Middle East revolution; which was, for its class character, the beginning of the worker socialist revolution, which bourgeois tried to expropriate, control or massacre at all costs. Syria was the starting point of a chain of revolutions of Maghreb and Middle East for bread, and in order to get it, bourgeoisie should had been expropriated and power taken.
Homs, Benghazi and Tharir Square (El Cairo) showed the way forward for the world working class to eat: governments and regimes must be overthrown and move forward to seize power. This is why Homs was not just a rebel city, but it posed the question of fight of the entire world working class. It was seen for the entire insurgency and exploited people of Syria as the bastion of their revolution.
The revolution of Maghreb and Middle East had its revolutionary devices. It set up its capitals, where the most heroic and advanced layers of the revolutionary working class.
In Benghazi, where Kaddafy (lackey of ENI and Britirsh Petroleum) smashed it teeth there is a hard resistance to counterrevolutionary blows of the Kaddafist generals and politicians disguised as “democrats”, all of them supported by imperialism and NATO, French invader troops of Mali and US Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
Today, Tharir Square (El Cairo) is irrigated with blood. Imperialist counteroffensive, through all its counterrevolutionary agents, is fierce. Imperialism must set up its counterrevolutionary devices to control again oil roads and so the revolution started in 2011 does not erase its gendarme, the Zionist State of Israel.
In Syria the forces of imperialism and its agents were concentrated to give the masses a hard lesson about what will happen to them if they dare to stand up for their demands and their aspirations for justice and freedom. In Syria and in Homs as its key point, it is at stake in large measure whether imperialism achieves decisive wins to settle its counter-revolutionary offensive in the region and around the world.
In Syria, imperialism came to give a lesson with its Hound Dog Bashar, its new counter-revolutionaries guardians, the Iranian Ayatollahs and Jackal Putin. There are 10 million refugees living in tents in the desert, 400,000 dead and cities devastated by the aviation of the Dog.
Imperialists made believe that they "supported the rebels in their fight for democracy", when they actually supported the massacre of Al - Assad, who was doing their "dirty work"... And they supported either the "Islamic" or "democratic" generals, who only entered the fight of the resistance to disarm the masses and prevent these from expropriating the bourgeoisie.
From this point of view, we could say that Homs is the Catalonia of the Spanish revolution of the 1930s. That city was the main bastion of the Spanish revolution. The Catalonian working class set up their bodies of worker power. It armed itself and called into question the private property of the "Republican" middle-class, which was the major obstacle to defeat Franco.
The insurrection in Catalonia showed that the Spanish working class, to defeat Francoism, should expropriate the bourgeoisie, reach out to the poor peasant and put an end to the imperialist Spain’s oppressing to Morocco. That was the only military policy able to defeat Franco. The cowardice of anarchism and renegades to Marxism, who entered the Government with the bourgeoisie, prevented this perspective from being achieved. Catalonia could not be transformed into the decisive point of the Spanish revolution. Its fall meant a qualitative advance of Franco towards his victory.
Catalonia was not only the bastion of the Spanish Revolution, but rather there was also concentrated the struggle of the world proletariat, and that of the counter-revolution to crush it. For this reason, in the 1930s, from all labor organizations brigades were sent to Spain for fighting against Franco. The exploited of the world continued their struggle.
Though Stalinism, with its KGB also went to Catalonia and Spain with their fifth column for slaughtering from the back the most combative and revolutionary of the Spanish working class, the rank and file of the POUM and the CNT. Andrés Nin sadly fell into the hands of the KGB and Stalinist scum and was assassinated.
Tragically, Syria of today was 100% isolated from the world working class. All leaderships of trade unions, the left social imperialists, spoils of Stalinism, social democracy and the Renegades of Trotskyism put on its feet a "Holy Alliance", from the World Social Forum (WSF), to impose an encirclement of silence, concealment and insulation to the revolution of Syria, and slandering the masses who stoodup for their bread, saying that these were "NATO ground troops", the revolutions were "armed by the CIA" and the masses would be "agents of imperialism".
The "friends of the Syrian cause"-Social Democrat currents- called to directly support the generals of the FSA, the "democratic" guardians of private property. They cried for "mercy" and “US weapons for the rebels”. One more shame! Instead, Bashar’s barrel bombs -under the protective mantle of the U.S. Navy in the Mediterranean, and the blessing of the counter-revolutionary Covenant called Geneva II, among Bashar The Dog, Obama, Putin, and the generals of the FSA and Jabhat al-Nusra – arrived at Homs.
All of them were put together by the horror of what the heroic victorious insurrection of Homs in 2011 had placed as the order of the day. The army of Jackal Assad was destroyed, the masses put on foot coordinating councils of workers and soldiers; and the expropriation of imperialism, the bourgeoisie and their banks emerged clearly as the immediate task, as well as the fall of Damascus and the throwing down of Jackal Bashar al - Assad.
Amidst an appalling silence, with dozens of thousands of martyrs buried in the streets, after the swift flight of bourgeois generals-without-a-battle of FSA and Jabhat al - Nusra, after a tough resistance of the masses; isolated and surrounded by the reformists, left servants of Obama... Homs, the capital of the Syrian revolution has fallen.
There is still a combat - because the masses still resist - in Aleppo and in key cities that surround it. The last word has not been said.
We must speak out. Dog Bashar had held earlier in Damascus, besieging with hunger and slaughtering all the focuses of insurrection that were there. No more the lie of Putin and the Iranian Ayatollahs that "are partners in the struggle of the masses against imperialism". Putin the murderer, a true agent of Citibank and German BASF, is who has armed Dog Bashar to the teeth.
As we see today in Ukraine, the cynicism of this butcher on account of imperialism has no limits. From the entrails of the new bourgeoisie and their business, yesterday it was Janukovic - the IMF agent – who was giving down Ukraine to imperialism. Today he has put in charge another of his tycoons and oligarchs of industry as President, under the orders of Merkel. Meanwhile, Putin is using the workers from the East of Ukraine (as for example in Donetsk) who staged an uprising revolting against the plans of the IMF that will leave them without a job, so that officers of the Ukrainian army sold-out to imperialism massacre them, and over their bones gas and business deals are arranged in Europe and the IMF.
The Zionist State applauds this Dog Bashar’s counteroffensive. It feels its borders again more secure. All organizations that speak on behalf of the labor movement have another stigma on their forehead. They encircled and isolated the Syrian revolution and Homs. They held the sables of the murderers. They have become, lately, spokesmen of the 'Great Russian' bourgeoisie, junior partner of BASF and Citibank, heiress of the treacherous Stalinist bureaucracy, which delivered the conquests of the USSR to imperialism. The cynicism of reformism, in their deception and lies, has no limits either.
Though, the trenches and battlefield of the international class struggle are now becoming clearer. Worker and peasant masses have been massacred in Syria. It is not the Syrian bourgeoisie and oligarchy, nor their families that are now in the refugee camps or buried in the streets of Homs.
The sinister siege imposed on the Syrian masses by the World Social Forum
The World Social Forum (WSF), since the first day of the revolution, imposed the siege against the Syrian masses. They were under the command of Al Assad or FSA Generals, interchangeably. They silenced the combats of Homs and the entire region.
They constantly refused to put all the forces of the world working class alongside the Syrian exploited. They prevented the revolutionary combat of the Maghreb and Middle East to be coordinated and centralized with the struggle of the working class and the exploited of the imperialist metropolises, as it was near to happen during 2011.
Imperialism and treacherous leaderships aimed to prevent Syria from being a new Libya and that the head of Dog Bashar roll in Damascus, as Kaddafi’s had rolled, leaving armed masses and the bourgeois Libyan State in shatters. Syria as a new Libya along the borders with the Zionist-fascist State of Israel would have put in the order of the day the revolutionary uprising of the Palestinian and Lebanese masses.
Still today in Libya, the old Kaddafist generals and their politicians who are in the "democratic" Government of GNC are trying to disarm the armed masses with counterrevolutionary military coups and reactionary actions of the rich middle classes in the streets,.
The servants of the Castro brothers and of Stalinism said that in Libya, "NATO ground troops" had fought against "Socialist" Kaddafi. This they did while the Bolivarians (as the Chavezites) apply the worst plans of hunger and misery against the Latin American masses. They did it while they gave down Cuba to imperialism, laying-off 500,000 workers, restoring the right to inheritance and private property, and voting the Foreign Investment Act.
The lackeys of the Castroite, Bolivarian, Iranian bourgeoisie, as well as Bashar the Dog -as yesterday Kaddafi-are the real agents of imperialism, which today have concentrated their forces to support Al-Assad, who is hanging to the coattails of USA and murderous Putin.
With these shots in the back by the world reformist left-wing currents, the fence to the revolutionary masses from Syria began. Obama’s left-wing left Al-Assad his hands free to slaughter the Syrian masses as he pleased. The imperialism had learnt the lesson in Libya, where it still can’t finish disarming the rebel militias and establishing a stable dominion to loot the nation. The working class throughout the world was confused. Their leaderships had them believe that their ally was the murderer Al-Assad and Putin, and not the martyred working classed and poor peasants from Syria.
In March 2013 the WSF gathered in Tunisia. Leaders of thousands of organizations got together and made a tribute to Chávez, the biggest supporter of Al-Assad, the one who dressed the Iranian Ayatollahs as “anti-imperialist”… when these, after slaughtering the Iranian working class, sent their troops to support Assad’s army on Syria together with Hezbollah from Lebanon to consummate their slaughter against the masses that were beginning to revolt in the capital city of Damascus and the surroundings.
In this WSF a wing, composed mainly by Stalinist and pro-Castroist currents, openly supported Assad, holding his slaughter against the exploited Syrian masses. Another wing posed as “defender of the Syrian masses”, when actually, as we already saw, supported the FSA. Representatives of these currents, such as the NPA and the LIT, with the excuse that “Syria divided”, hid the Syrian issue.
In this way they closed ranks, all together in Tunisia in 2013, to finish fencing the Syrian revolution. They agreed to “support the Palestinian prisoners”. But the massacre of Al-Assad only strengthened Zionism and its advance of ferocious suppression against the most combative of the Palestinian masses.
In the WSF meeting the European working class was separated from their true allies from the Maghreb and Middle East. It put the American working class to Obama’s feet. This couldn’t even move his military forces as Bush had done with Iraq and Afghanistan to crush the Syrian masses. Neither could he do so to directly crush the masses that in Benghazi sent their ambassador “to a better life”.
Today, Obama uses his agents to do his “dirty work” for him. Which is the role of the reformist left-wing? To support and legitimize them so they can crush, slaughter and starve the masses.
Thus the WSF supported the dog Bashar and left his hands free so that he could land his bloodthirsty genocide with impunity, at the service of Obama and imperialism. The WSF took every working class struggle there was to the feet of the bourgeoisie.
In Syria they were either with Assad or with the FSA. In the imperialist Europe they were at the feet of Maastricht, requesting it to be a little “more social” and to “moderate the adjustment”. In USA they posed “all against the Tea Party”, which meant “everybody with Obama”. In this way the leaderships of the world proletariat imposed it a program which was enemy of their demands and at the feet of their executioners, and left it subjugated to the attack of the bosses. They divided the workers’ ranks internationally and desynchronized the combats of the colonial world with the imperialist powers.
At the same time that the masses were isolated, Assad was supplied with weapons by Russia and China, later with troops of the Iranian Republican Guard and Hizbollah, while Chávez provided him with oil. Obama declared an “embargo” against Syria, and looked the other way to let Assad to be reinforced. The imperialist powers painted themselves as “democratic” claiming to be against Assad, but let him carry out a huge genocide with impunity. Obama supported the massacre of Assad in Syria, since he needed to punish the working class that had revolted for bread.
In Syria, then, imperialism concentrated its forces. But the proletariat couldn’t do so, for the treason of its leadership. Because of the fence imposed on the Syrian masses, Assad had his hands free to massacre, demolish and devastate the Syrian exploited and their houses. The martyrs of the revolution are already 400,000. There are 10 million of Syrians that had to leave their houses, to live in refugee camps in the borders and the exile.
From Geneva 2, the counter-revolution is imposed in Homs
To finish imposing the counter-revolution and erase every vestige of the revolutionary uprisings, the conference of Geneva 2 was gathered. This was the pact of Obama with the imperialist pirates, together with the generals of the genocide Al-Assad, of the FSA, the bourgeoisie of Qatar and the jackal Putin, under the command of the UN, to finish settling their counter-revolutionary victory in Syria and the entire region, and share out the businesses on the base of the bloodshed inflicted on the masses.
Geneva 2 is a real counter-revolutionary pact that creates the conditions for this imperialist counter-offensive, which seeks to finish crushing and liquidating the revolutionary combat of the masses, recreating a counter-revolutionary chain against the chain of revolutions that shook the Maghreb and Middle East since 2011. The come for the “capitals of the revolution”. That’s why Geneva 2 started crushing Homs. Now they seek to reach Aleppo and the entire Syria; and even Benghazi against the workers’ and popular militias from Libya that refuse to disarm and subdue. This Geneva 2 pact –that just yesterday created the conditions for the victory of the military dictatorship in Egypt– has a main goal, which is to finish subjugating the Palestinian people with the pact between Hamas and Al Fatah so as to impose the Palestinian masses the plan of the “two states”, so that they all end up recognizing the Zionist-fascist state of Israel.
From Geneva 2, with Obama, the dog Bashar, Putin, the coward bourgeoisie from Qatar and their generals of the FSA and Jabhat al-Nusra, they finally set upt the trap against the exploited from Homs. The city was sieged, fenced and left without supplies.
On this basis, the Bashar’s and FSA’s generals, servants of imperialism, agreed on the entry of the UN “humanitarian aid” to Homs. What did this mean? The arrival of UN buses that offered the exploited that were in unbearable conditions of hunger and slaughter to take them away from the “hell” in Homs to take them to refugee camps. That’s how they wanted to finish subjugating the masses to the UN and prevent them from continue resisting.
This agreement also included that Assad’s troops could check every bus that left town. In this way they imprisoned dozens and dozens of exploited that had been involved in the uprisings of 2001 and also the resistance against the massacre of the genocidal troops of Bashar.
The counter-revolutionary pact of Geneva 2 meant that, when the pirates of the UN entered Homs, the troops of Al-Assad would stop bombing, while the FSA, that controlled what came in and out of the city with their “checkpoints”, would leave the gates open. When the buses didn’t come, the massacre and the siege continued. The masses were presented with a fake choice: either they give up or end up without supplies, surviving in the middle of rubbles, praying not to be victims of the constant and abundant bombing. This was happening over and over again until they achieved the surrender of the city.
This plan is the one that the UN and the dog Bashar applied in Damascus, that is to say, to impose a siege by famine, let the UN bring bread and thus impose the surrender to the masses slaughtered daily by the missiles and explosive barrels of Al-Assad.
Controlled by the parties-armies, as the FSA and Jabhat al-Nusra, the worker and peasant masses in the liberated areas remained subdued to the bourgeoisie, fenced and under the relentless bombing of Al-Assad
To defeat the indomitable exploited from Homs, the bombing of Assad, which was held continuously for 3 years, wasn’t enough. The masses kept resisting.
In all those cities in which the troops of Al-Assad were defeated, the Free Syrian Army and Jabhat al-Nusra (and all the variants of both) turned to expropriate the revolution from within. They mounted on the combats of the masses to dissolve and destroy their armed organisms of self-organization that they had set up, and in this way liquidate from inside the insurrectional civil war of the masses and transform it in a war of bourgeois fields where the businesses are disputed.
The ones that defended Homs weren’t the coordination committees of armed workers and soldiers, but the checkpoints to enter and leave the city, set by the FSA and Jabhat al-Nusra. Its goal was to disarm the masses, to prevent them to expropriate the bourgeoisie to eat and be able to win the war. Thus they debilitated the defenses…
These generals were making businesses with the bourgeois generals of Al-Assad to bring in goods and sell them at a very high price in Homs, as they keep doing in all the liberated areas. The demoralized the masses. They starved them the same or worse than the dog Bashar. They inflicted the exploited the first defeats, from within, expropriating the revolution.
That is to say, as bourgeois currents, what mattered and matters to them are the property and their businesses. This is what they went to look after in the liberated areas. For that it was necessary that the masses wouldn’t continue independently organized, since this would lead to the expropriation of the large bourgeois property to solve the demands of the masses. This moved the victory of the exploited masses over Bashar away, since the only way to do so was with the methods of the proletarian revolution.
In this regard, about how the victory of the masses would be, Trotsky posed in “The verification of the ideas and the individuals through the experience of the Spanish revolution” in 1937: “If the Catalan proletariat had seized power in May 1937 they would have found support throughout all of Spain. The bourgeois-Stalinist reaction would not even have found two regiments with which to crush the Catalan workers. In the territory occupied by Franco not only the workers but also the peasants would have turned toward the Catalan proletariat, would have isolated the fascist army and brought about its irresistible disintegration. It is doubtful whether under these conditions any foreign government would have risked throwing its regiments onto the burning soil of Spain.”
The generals of Jabhat al-Nusra and the FSA also had their hands free to act as a fifth column in the liberated areas. The FSA generals were shown as “saviors of the people” and “fighters for the democracy”. The reformist leaderships tied the hands of the international proletariat to go in defense of Homs, since they are also guardians, but from the left-wing, of the capitalist property and the MNCs, with their class-collaboration policy and open betrayals leading the workers’ organizations.
The best program to win the war and sabe Homs and the entire Syria from Al-Assad’s massacre laid precisely in the expropriation of the capitalists so that the workers and peasants could solve the issues of bread, housing, land, etc., and, in this way, count with all the resources to win the war against the dog Bashar that comes to slaughter us. This was the way to reach Damascus.
The masses weren’t the problem, it was the leaderships that betrayed them, that called them to trust in the FSA, in the UN, as well as those who directly supported the dog Bashar and Putin.
The defeat in Homs has laid bare that the world reformist left-wing and its social-imperialist parties are enemies of expropriating the bourgeoisie and defeat Wall Street. They’re the ones coming to paint in pink and sweeten out a nauseating capitalist system.
On Bashar’s side there isn’t a powerful army, which on the other hand broke its teeth a thousand times in Homs. This city had been named “the hydra of seven heads”, in which, as they used to say, “every time they cut one head, it grew two”. This was this way because the masses went out to the borders returned to fight for what was theirs, for their homes, against the murderous Bashar.
It was the counter-revolutionary pacts, the fence of the world reformist left-wing, the fifth column and no the powerful army of Al-Assad what allowed the fall of Homs.
We the Trotskyists of the Fourth International denounce as enemies of the fight for socialism and the proletarian revolution all those who supported the murderer Bashar, such as Obama’s left-wing, and those who presented the generals without battles of the FSA as “revolutionary commanders”. They are responsible for the slaughter of the Syrian masses and the fall of Homs, and not the masses, who left thousands of martyrs in their combats.
As Marx said, we have to unveil to the proletariat the secrets of the international policy, so that they can clearly distinguish who their allies are and who their enemies. Homs has fallen. The UN allowed it. Or did it send troops and missiles to defend the city to prevent it from falling? Al Assad’s friends have unmasked what they are: international accomplices of the slaughter of the exploited from Homs and Syria. The NATO and the UN were one of the swords to defeat the hydra that frightened the bourgeois generals of Al-Assad.
The other side of the same coin –which is the NPA, the LIT, the UIT and the English SWP, mainly– can’t pretend not to notice and look the other way around. They demanded the US imperialism to send arms to the resistance. What will they say now? Will they still wait the fall of Aleppo, Raqqa, waiting for the US bombs to start the war? They are Obama’s servants. We have to say the truth.
Enough! The most powerful missile of the masses is to expropriate the capitalists in the liberated areas and the bankers. The expropriation of the bourgeoisie in the rebel zones would quickly disintegrate the base of the army that Al-Assad has in Damascus. In the civil war, the masses give away even their last drop of blood if they fight for what is theirs, and not for the businesses of the capitalists.
No more lying. In honor of the massacred masses from Syria, we have to tell the truth to the working class. That’s the condition to prevent new defeats and the fall of Aleppo and all the liberated areas.
To be able to defeat the dog Bashar and the imperialist counter-revolutionary counter-offensive, it is a must to break with the WSF and the reformist left managed by Obama
The reformist left, the social imperialist parties, the renegades to Trotskyism, which have revived the Stalinist beast, today must be held accountable to the masses. Drawing quick conclusions from the fall of Homs is crucial so the Syrian resistance does not fall across and the masses do not suffer a hard defeat in the region.
This happening, Zionism will return to counter-revolutionary actions of great magnitude. The murderous military junta in Egypt, continuation of Mubarak's regime, will recompose Camp David Deal to support Zionism. The Syrian counterrevolution will arrive at Benghazi and Tripoli. Ben Ali's regime would impose itself in Tunisia, despite today's "Government of national salvation" siren song, which only serves as a cover for the Tunisian generals’ preparing to sink the workers knee-high in their own blood, like yesterday Enahda and its Salafist counter-revolutionary bands did. The defeat of the Syrian revolution will be a severe blow to the world working class.
Today, the leaderships that speak on behalf of the working class play the distracted and look the other way, keeping a typical silence of those who have betrayed the proletariat and its revolution.
When what they called "Arab spring" arose they traveled to taking photos with the "barbarian peoples" (according to them) that were "fighting for democracy". But, after so many betrayals and trickery, what has become is hell against the masses who fought for dignity, for bread, against hunger, against the surrender of their Nations.
The exploited were actually starting working-class and socialist revolutions. The reformist left first denied them. It spoke of "springs of the people" and "democratic revolutions". Thus it concealed all semi-parliamentarian cheating and the fraud of constituent assemblies. And now that the sabers of the generals are talking loud, there is an accomplice and miserable silence.
The world working class must mark this to fire. These traitors will not have our silence. The world left has betrayed the proletariat. Traitors are called traitors.
Aleppo defines another big battle of the Syrian revolution. Though whether it succeeds or not, is something that will depend on the combat of the world working class, as it will also depend on the fate of the working class of the Maghreb and the rest of the Middle East.
In Turkey, China and Brazil, the working-class masses have been raised and rebelled against all the strikebreaker Union bureaucracies, either left or nationalist ones. Masses of exploited, to fight against the massacres of workers - as in Turkey, for decent wages, education, housing for all - as in China or Brazil - must openly confront all treacherous leaderships that have sustained murderous Al - Assad or the generals-without-a-battle of FSA.
In Turkey, the road to the general strike was despite and against the traitors of the trade union bureaucracy that supports the Government of Erdogan. In China, the masses face the counter-revolutionary party of "red Mandarin" of the Chinese CP and their infamy of "market socialism", which is a mantle for concealing the worst looting and overexploitation of the Chinese working class. In Brazil, they are confronting the left honchos of the PT and the renegades to Trotskyism, who in the negotiation boards surrender the wage and the jobs of the Brazilian working class.
The prospects of a bloody revolution betrayed, as in Syria, today will be defined in the arena of the international class struggle. This boils down to what extent the international working class can defeat the leaderships that betray it a thousand and one times, so as to be able to confront capitalist imperialism and its Governments, and go to the aid of the martyred masses of the Maghreb and the Middle East.
The Libyan masses have dug in and resist hard a counterrevolutionary coup as that of CIA-linked general Heftar’s, and every counter-revolutionary onslaught of Kaddafist Government of the GNC against the revolutionary masses. Lebanese and Palestinian masses have decided not to retire from the battlefield. In Fallujah, the insurrected masses that took the city, still continue to resist despite the siege and massacre of the lackey Iraqi army sold to US.
The masses have not surrendered, no doubt, all over Syria. The areas liberated in Aleppo, Raqa'i, Deir ez-Zor, Deraa, remain a territorial dual power where even Al-Assad troops cannot enter.
The task of the moment is to conquer the widespread arming of the masses, removal of all the generals of the FSA and Jabhat al - Nusra, and to build again coordinating committees of soldiers, militiamen, workers, refugees, peasants and students.
The task of the moment is to put to work all enterprises and fields to give food and decent wages to the workers and guide the entire production for the war effort against the Dog. The masses must expropriate the bourgeoisie and put in function all the factories for the refugees to return to fight for their homes and their families. If they come back in the hands of UN and Al - Assad generals, it would mean hunger, misery, loss of housing and what little the exploited have or remains on foot.
Let's expropriate quickly without compensation the banks and all available industry and place them to operate under the control of the workers!
Let's break the international siege against the Syrian revolution and with the infamous politics of the WSF! Without this active and decisive international solidarity of the proletariat, you cannot stop the massacre by Al - Assad, and the world working-class will pay expensively that defeat to their class brothers and sisters in Syria.
As ever, the Syrian resistance lives and fights alongside the Palestinian masses and the resistance of rebel militias and workers in Libya. It is an urgent need the rupture of the Tunisian working class with the "Government of national salvation".
The oil workers from Libya cannot keep fighting alone against the sacking of the ENI, Total and all the imperialist oil companies, encircled - as they are - by the US Navy in the Mediterranean and French troops in Mali.
An uprising of the workers in France, Italy and throughout Europe in support of their brethren of the Maghreb and Middle East, the oil workers’ struggle in Libya, the Palestinian prisoners, would topple quickly in favor of the Syrian resistance the balance of the relationship of forces.
Today the Turkish working class has stood up against the massacre and labor slavery imposed by murderous bosses in Turkey. They are the best ally that exploited Syrians have, because with their fight against the Turkish Government of Erdogan, they can knock down one of the agents of NATO which is part of the military siege on the Syrian revolution chasing anyone who crosses over there to go to combat. Allowing a free passage, Aleppo - that is situated across the border- can be strengthened with the help of the international working class -to resist against Assad.
Homs should be retaken. And that will be done by a "thousand-headed-Hydra" which is the world working class.
The most immediate, urgent and decisive task for the Syrian masses, across North Africa and the Middle East, and around the world is to break with all the leaderships of the World Social Forum, which with class-collaboration fronts, counter-revolutionary deals, songs of sirens and parliamentarian deceptions, disorganize the offensives and the struggle of the working class, so then come the sabers of the generals and the baton of fascism for disciplining the masses.
Fighting against this treacherous politics of the parties of the worker autocracies and bureaucracies, hung at the aprons of the bourgeoisie is the task of the moment for the healthy forces that acknowledge themselves as fighters for the International Socialist Revolution.
There is no other way, in order to put up a Revolutionary Party of the working class of the Maghreb and Middle East, than setting up a Committee for the Re-foundation of the Fourth International, which beat the treacherous leaderships that have already waged a battle from the back against the world working class.
Let's retrieve Homs! Let's crush Al - Assad! Let's defend the Palestinian masses and rebel militias of Libya!
Let’s stand up alongside the Chinese, Brazilian, and Turkish masses which are an outpost in the fight against the leaderships that have strangled at every step and continue strangling the struggle of the world working class!
