Epilogue The Syrian genocide will not be left in the oblivion! The Obama left must explain the fence they imposed on the heroic Syrian revolution The Syrian tragedy, as many others the international working class has suffered, poses again the updated historical alternative: either the victory of the socialist revolution or fascism and wars The last battles of the Syrian revolution as well as Maghreb and Middle East are still ahead. The latest chapter of the process of revolution and counterrevolution, as we have said in this book’s introduction, has not been written yet. In the Syrian revolution they were confronted: two theories, two programs and two strategies of the currents that belong to the international worker movement On one side, the continuers of the stalinism’s theory and program and socialdemocracy; those who tried at every step to submit the working class to the different bourgeois factions to whom they considered “progressive”. They are the continuity of the Stalinist theory of “staged revolution”. Here on this side they are placed: all the currents of the World Social Forum composed by the remains of Stalinism, social-democracy and the miserable native bourgeoisies, those lackeys of Obama that pose as “anti-imperialist”…all of them legitimized by the renegades of Trotskyism. On the other side, the internationalist revolutionary movement stood up and confronted them, even having small forces; the internationalist revolutionary movement that affirms that the conditions for the socialist are not only more than ripen –and much more ripened conditions in the Maghreb and Middle East- but also are getting rotten and decomposed.
Life itself in the Maghreb and Middle East has proved the fully validity of the Theory-Program of the Permanent Revolution of the founders of the 1938 Fourth International. It states that the only thing “unripe” masses have at their head is the treacherous leadership. That is the “immaturity” of exploited masses: the labor bureaucracy and aristocracy bought by the big capital to fulfill the role of internal police and fifth column within the revolutionary masses…the “immaturity” reformists speak about, in fact, is the overabundance of treacherous leaderships that sell out every exploited’s combat. As the Transitional Program of the IV International of 1938 says: “The economic prerequisite for the proletarian revolution has already in general achieved the highest point of fruition that can be reached under capitalism. Mankind’s productive forces stagnate (…) Conjunctural crises under the conditions of the social crisis of the whole capitalist system inflict ever heavier deprivations and sufferings upon the masses. Growing unemployment, in its turn, deepens the financial crisis of the state and undermines the unstable monetary systems. Democratic regimes, as well as fascist, stagger on from one bankruptcy to another (…) All talk to the effect that historical conditions have not yet “ripened” for socialism is the product of ignorance or conscious deception. The objective prerequisites for the proletarian revolution have not only “ripened”; they have begun to get somewhat rotten. Without a socialist revolution, in the next historical period at that, a catastrophe threatens the whole culture of mankind. The turn is now to the proletariat, i.e., chiefly to its revolutionary vanguard. The historical crisis of mankind is reduced to the crisis of the revolutionary leadership. Facing the revolutionary uprising that began in Tunis in 2011, we saw the imperialism to gather all his forces and set up a centralized general staff under the command of Obama. It disciplined all the bourgeois faction of the region and all the treacherous leaderships of the proletariat for them to save the ruling classes. The international working class didn’t have his general staff to break with the fence against the Syrian revolution to keep unified the links of the chain of the ongoing revolutions in the Maghreb and Middle East and be able to combine them with the mass upheavals of workers in Europe and USA. The world working class lacked a leadership able to make easy to surpass the current leaderships that, like those in the World Social Forum, have submitted them to their enemies at every step. It is about that our fight, of those who fight to set up and re-founding the IV International of 1938, the World Party of the Socialist Revolution. This will be done by re-building the militant internationalism in the world working class that has set milestones of internationalism in the streets in every decisive fight given, as we have already showed all through this book.
The Obama left regrets today the “growth of ISIS” and “the radical Islamic movement”. And we, the revolutionaries wonder why would masses go to the English SWP (Socialist Worker Party) , the French NPA (New Anticapitalist Party), to LIT (Liga Internacional de los Trabajadores), to Syriza (Coalition of the Radical Left) of Greece, to FIT (Left and Worker Front) of Argentina, etc., if they tell them to be content with voting since democracy would resolve all their problems? Why would they go with the English WRP (Worker Revolutionary Party) or with the Bolivian POR (Worker Revolutionary Party) that said that Al Assad and Khadafy-the biggest millionaires and lackeys of the imperialism and repressors of their people- were their allies? Why would masses follow these “socialists” if they are by the hand of the Castros and Chavez that called for voting for Obama in USA saying he was “the salvation against Bush and Tea Party”? The Islamic movement, and ISIS in particular, presents themselves before masses having the banner saying “they have fought US imperialism in Iraq” usurping the anti-imperialist fight of the working class and exploited. This fact allowed them to be at the head of their struggle to strangle the revolution. ISIS says to use their weapons “to confront the imperialism”, hen in reality, they only confront masses…but how many medicine, brigades have sent the world worker organizations led by the reformist currents of the Obama left to support the millions of Syrian exploited in the refugee camps and to fight side by side them against the murderous Bashar, so that they can recover their houses?
Precisely the reformism’s role was to fence the Syrian revolution, submit masses to the different bourgeois factions who strangled it. They are for that role. They are the Obama’s left. The pro-imperialist character and as sustainers of Obama the world reformist left have free hands the native bourgeoisie to expropriate the revolutionary fight from the masses or to massacre them. Reformism only gets away exploited from the revolution. That is his role as well as regret and blame masses for his treasons. These leaderships are not more intelligent or more capable than the working class’ revolutionary movement. Reformists are sustained by the bourgeoisie and his states. They are not clever. They are guards of the capitalists’ properties within the worker ranks. But such reformism without reforms is a “club of squeezed lemons”. Millions of workers that will participate in decisive fights in the next period will have no expectations of them. The working class can’t stand them anymore.
Life has given a verdict in the combats of Syria and the whole Middle East. The working class has not taken power during the thousands of opportunities they had. The working class was not able to centralize, coordinate and develop the dual power organs that from Tahrir square to Tunis, from the rebel Libyan militias to the Coordination Committees in Syria they set up. There, when states, governments and regimes got disjoined for the falling down of Mubarak, Khadafy and Ben Ali the power was at hand. But the working class, as an exploited class (since it isn’t owner) cannot take power spontaneously on his own. Workers need a leadership, a general Staff selected from “the best of the best” of their ranks. By drawing lessons of the revolutionary processes all around the planet and organizing internationally, a scientific socialist movement can be able to fight the general staff of the imperialism and native bourgeoisies that centralize all over the world the treacherous leaderships for them to save them from the mass revolutionary upheavals. Life again gave a verdict, this time a tragedy for masses. The working class did not take power and there was no triumph of the democracy or liberty, there was not bread or conquests for the exploited. Governments more fascist, counterrevolutionary and bloody than those that masses had defeated came to power. Masses had defeated them by their revolutionary upheaval that shook the whole Maghreb and Middle East and the entire world from 2011 on. The organizations that speak in the name of the working class ‘interests and socialism must give an explanation about the fence they imposed on the Syrian masses that left dog Bashar with his hands free to massacre them. The reformism without reforms must explain the submission they impose on the working class of Maghreb and Middle East, the fraud of the “Arab springs” and “democratic revolutions” they spread when a blood´s river ran from the Tunis street to the tormented Palestine. So much treason will not be left unpunished. The world working class will do justice. They will group their ranks and advance to set up a leadership up to the combat masses carry out and that opens the prerequisites to the victory of the exploited masses of Maghreb and Middle East and all around the world. The martyrs of the Syrian revolution will never ever be left in the oblivion. Our young and anti-imperialist socialists and militants who died in the battlefield -while reformism was riding on the coattails of the bourgeoisie- will be fighting banners for the next generations of the international proletariat. Our revolutionary socialist movement, the IV International of 1938 that deserves to be re-founding, is grouping his cadres before the huge historical events, that is, of great offensives on the part of the proletariat and huge defeats of the working class like the genocide in Syria.
THE OBAMA’S LEFT MUST GIVE AN EXPLANATION! They must explain why they sustained murders like Al Assad-armed to the teeth by the butcher Putin- and like the Iranian Ayatollahs that only received orders gave by the imperialism to massacre the Syrian masses doing the “dirty work” for all the imperialist powers. They must explain why the paid homage to the bourgeois generals of the FSA that under the command of Turkey went with Jabhat Al Nusra to contain and disarm masses in the free zones and why they sustain the pro-yanquee Kurdish bourgeoisie that is the biggest enemy of the self-determination of the Kurdish people and biggest ally of Al Assad and USA. They must explain why they have submitted the working class to the different bourgeois factions that today are in dispute for the spoils of the Syria stained in blood. They must explain the infamy and lie that the imperialism advances in the world by “expanding democracy” when under the imperialist domination what is generalized are occupation wars lie in Iraq and Afghanistan, genocides like in Syria, counterrevolutionary coups lie in Egypt, bonapartist governments like the one of Putin and military dictatorships like the one of the “red entrepreneurs” party of China. They must explain to the world working class how they can resolve their needs without taking power, without the returning of the socialist revolution victory in the planet. In this new phase of the open period in 2008, it is the reformism who must give an explanation to the world working class. Every serious fight will be against and despite them. The current combats already anticipate it. The speed race between reformism and the Trotskyism’s program as well as revolution to see who leads masses has not finished yet. This speed race is in his beginning. The opportunism and reformism speak the language of the past, of treasons, of selling out of the former worker states, with that language made masses believe that capitalism will survive “giving gains” and “expanding democracy” when it only gives genocide, misery and barbarian.
They speak the language of the past, that “another world is possible” without expropriating neither bankers nor the imperialism. They speak the language of the reactionary utopia, of “socialism of market” that justify the plunder and super exploitation of the Chinese working class. We are facing a reformism without reforms that makes promises of victory and has only given milestones of defeats to the world proletariat. We affirm that if the socialist revolution does not win in the period open for the 2008 crac, the catastrophe of humanity is assured. Nobody will silence us, the revolutionary marxists. Our war cry facing the massacre in Syria is the same, today more than ever: The Syrian genocide will not be left in the oblivion!
From 2008 to 2011, the capitalism had his “1989”. Huge mass struggles went over the planet. In his counter-back, the counterrevolutionary forces responded with fascist strikes, sables of generals and even with governments “more democratic”, jailed the best worker and anti-imperialist fighters. They are worker hostages in the hands of the bourgeois regimes. Either in “democracy” or “dictatorship”, the best fighters of the working class are put in jails under the most despicable accusations and lies. The other face of such infamy is the release of the dictator Mubarak, murder of Egyptian masses, who was toppled down by revolution. The exploited go jail while their executioners are free. The imperialism, the biggest terrorist in the planet, accuse of terrorist to everyone who confronts him. But those rising up against him are the masses that can`t stand anymore living as they have done till now. For that reason, we say they have the right to upraise and make insurrections and fight for what belongs to them. That right is sacred. The uprising of slaves is not a crime, it is justice!
