Algeria - May 6, 2019
Bouteflika has already fallen ... Belaiz has fallen ... Sidi Said has fallen ... Let everyone go, let not one of them be left!
"Down with the regime!"
A cry that continues to thunder on the streets of the entire Algeri
Since February the Algerian masses have not left the streets in their fight against the infamous regime of the FLN (National Liberation Front, the Bouteflika party that has been in government for decades), servant of imperialism. After they managed to get Bouteflika not to run for a 5th term and forced him to leave the government, they did not leave the streets, because they identify the entire regime as responsible for their misery.
That is why the workers, students and the poor people of Algeria continue their struggle, with massive mobilizations, with strikes in workplaces, universities and schools. The masses demand that the "4 Bs" leave, that is to say the representatives of the regime that assumed the government after the fall of Bouteflika. They are Abdelkader Bensalah the interim president, Noureddine Bedoui the prime minister, Mouad Bouchareb the head of the FLN and Tayeb Belaiz the head of the Constitutional Council.
The latter, Belaiz, fell on Tuesday April 16, when the streets of Algiers were filled with tens of thousands of combative secondary and college students, and workers, who have paralyzed schools and universities and have gone out on the streets singing "revolution", "the people want the fall of the regime", "out with the 4 Bs" . In front of this huge mobilization a gigantic police apparatus was assembled; it closed the main streets and the point of concentration in this capital, the Post Office (la Grande Poste) that is close to the government house.
The demonstration pushed back the police and opened the way for the demonstrators. The previous Saturday, April 13, huge demonstrations across the country had openly clashed with the police that were trying to disperse, brutally repressing, arresting the demonstrators, making raids on universities looking for alleged "radical activists." The repression, far from pushing back the masses, radicalized all the Algerian people who have been fighting against the infamous regime. And throughout the weekend, the rebellious people have not left the streets, raising slogans against THE ENTIRE regime and also against imperialism.
The Algerian working class have been intervening in this mass political struggle with their methods, taking to the streets, with strikes and walkouts, confronting the police. They also fight to the inside of the French imperialist Fifth Republic, where they are one of the most exploited sectors of the French working class, treated as true pariahs.
In Algeria, and with their revolutionary struggles, the masses have managed to overthrow the agents of the regime in which imperialism is based to plunder and oppress the working class and the exploited.
On Thursday, April 18 in the morning, the Secretary General of the UGTA, Sidi Said, resigned from his post. The fact is that the masses do not retreat in their combat and the working class in particular has clearly identified that the union bureaucracy is a fundamental support of the regime; so that in order to confront and defeat it, they know it is necessary to advance against its supporters. Sidi Said has fallen ... now all the union bureaucracy must fall and thus the workers be able to recover the UGTA for themselves!
Another pillar of the regime that falls for the revolutionary actions of the masses! Let this fight not stop! Workers are performing strikes and walkouts in education and industrial sectors ... now we must go one step further.
We must conquer the Revolutionary General Strike!
This strike will show who is the true owner of the country, who creates all the riches stolen by imperialism and its lackeys from the FLN and the entire regime, guaranteed by its agents in the workers' movement, the rotten union bureaucracy.
In the current revolutionary situation of Algeria, a General Revolutionary Strike supported by the factory committees, the strike committees, committees of militant students, poor peasants and guaranteed with the strike picket and self-defense bodies of the fighting masses, quickly it would change the balance of forces against the regime and imperialism.
To conquer the General Strike it is a matter of life and death to set up the self-determination bodies of the masses in struggle, the Workers' Militia, the only ones that can guarantee that the struggle of the working class and the exploited Algerians goes one step further.
We have to finish sweeping the whole union bureaucracy that sustains the regime.
The time has come when the exploited people of Algeria forge the Workers' and Popular Alliance, as they have been doing every day of combat, taking to the streets. But this time, with the working class leading all the oppressed of the country, the combative students, the poor peasants and the ruined sectors of the urban middle class, in the path of the General Revolutionary Strike, to strike like a single fist and finish overthrowing the whole regime.
In this struggle of the Algerian workers, the French working class has a central task ... they are fighting against the same enemy on both sides of the Mediterranean: The French imperialist Fifth Republic and its agents, as well as those of the infamous FLN regime ...
And from Algeria to France, the combat of the rebellious masses, of the yellow vests, cannot succeed without first defeating the union bureaucracy.
Sidi Said of the UGTA has already fallen ... the Algerian masses show the way! Now we must throw Martinez out of the CGT and recover this organization so that it is at the service of the struggle of the French working class and its class sisters and brothers in the semicolonial world.
From Paris to Algiers ... The people want the fall of the regime!
Let the combat not stop!
General Revolutionary Strike until the whole regime falls down!
For the revolutionary unity of the Algerian and French working class, against the French imperialist Fifth Republic, against its governments and oppressive regimes in the semi-colonial world and against its supporters of the union bureaucracies!
