Amid the gaps opened within the bourgeoisie of the ANC-CP due to the arrest of former president Zuma
With looting and actions in the streets, the exploited masses of South Africa follow the path of their siblings in Swaziland
We must impose the break of the workers' organizations with the bourgeoisie, and resume the path of the general strike against the government of the ANC-CP, administrators and partners of the white bourgeoisie and imperialism
Last week the South African high court called on former president Zuma to testify for corruption cases during his terms (2009-2018). For disobeying the court order and failing to appear to testify, he was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
The former president had warned already that the Zulus (referring to a faction of the ANC), would resist this ruling and, after his arrest in KwaZulu-Natal, blockades, riots, looting, and clashes with the police would start. But due to the economic crisis, hunger, unemployment, the demands for lost gains and labor agreements, and generalized layoffs during the economic crisis aggravated by the COVID, the masses stormed into cities such as Soweto, Katlehong and entire areas of Johannesburg sneaking through these gaps in the heights. The exploited went to look for food where they'd surely find it: to the markets. Thus looting began and also the clashes with the ANC-CP police.
President Ramaphosa has declared after days of clashes that he would take the army to the streets, to restore order and avoid an ethnic struggle, hiding his terror that the fight against the reconciliation regime could return, as when he and Zuma were confronted with general strikes after the Marikana massacre.
Ramaphosa and Zuma want to hide that they were business partners in the plunder of South Africa by imperialism. Both were part of the pact of reconciliation with the white murderers and became the black bourgeoisie, slavers and murderers of their own people. Ramaphosa, as manager and mastermind of Marikana massacre and today administrator of Anglo American businesses as Zuma was yesterday, implicated in 800 cases of corruption due to state business with transnational corporations. The latter was expelled by the COSATU workers in a ceremony on May 1 and later hacked with general strikes.
From Malema, a bourgeois politician (former leader of the Communist Party Youth), who calls for a campaign to be launched in his defense, as if there were a progressive bourgeois sector, to the Saftu which called through the Transport Workers Union (DETAWU) for the national defense force to intervene to crush the masses, everyone is afraid that the fury of the exploited South Africans against the ANC-CP regime could return and resume revolutionary actions in the streets with the method of the general strike.
Thus, in this outbreak of hungry workers treated as slaves by transnational corporations, the revolutionary struggle of the people of Swaziland is beginning to express itself, while the workers' organizations subordinate the working class to the bourgeoisie and the government that prepares the officer caste of the Pretoria army for, when the masses resume the fight against the black bourgeoisie and the transnationals, attacking and plunging the working class into a bloodbath.
Enough of subordinating the organizations of the working class to the bourgeoisie! We must deepen the rupture process of the working class with the ANC, sweep away the leadership of Cosatu and unite the ranks of the working class.
The working class and the exploited must take the resolution of all their problems into their own hands. Committees of the unemployed, factory committees and committees of the millions of immigrant workers must be organized and centralized together with the combative student movement and tenant committees. We must unite this struggle with that of the workers of the Swazi nation, and the rest of the region. The self-defense committees of the workers' organizations must be set up in each neighborhood and locality to defend themselves from the murderous police and xenophobic groups that attack immigrants.
