"... We are from the Shop Steward Commission of Paty. We bring the greetings from the comrades to the comrades of Las Heras. We always were, we are and we will be (supporting fighting workers) because we know that we need unity to fight, the unity of all the workers, and need to coordinate the struggles. How could we not be in this act that was done here? Because we want to set up a National Coordination of Struggle. This May 1st we wanted to celebrate it here ...
We hope other currents, factory commissions, unions and sections will join. Why? Because on this date, coincidentally 120 years ago, the “Chicago Martyrs” began to fight, who became martyrs but first fought for 12 hours a day of work; when they got them, they went for 10; when they went to fight for the 8 working hours a day, they were framed in a provocation for which they ended up condemned and went to the gallows. The same provocation that the exploiters mounted here against the oil workers in 2006 and the sentence is already here. Because what they are seeking is to retrench, and intimidate the working class so it accepts the conditions bowing their heads: labour flexibility, income tax.
That is why this internationalist act is very important here. You know that today May 1, despite the fact that they want to bribe us with a holiday, it was an International Day of Struggle, it was an international day of coordination, so the workers won conquests ... when they gave us the holiday, they wanted to divide us (...)
We want to set up a National Coordinator of Struggle so that we go out to fight for a plan of struggle and the General Strike so that there are no more prosecuted workers and to set free those who are imprisoned, the oil workers, and the 7000 prosecuted here in the country. Notice that they are already discussing how to impose an "Anti-Picket Law", then they will go for the right to strike. We know very well that this government is the twin of the one of Maduro in Venezuela. In Venezuela there are prisoners for fighting since two years ago, they are imprisoned for going on strike. How curious that here they are copying the same thing? That is why it is very important to set up the International Solidarity Network for the freedom of (political) prisoners, because an injury to one of us, is an injury to all. We ask for the freedom of the prisoners of Las Heras, the oil workers prisoners of today, the prisoners of Guantánamo, the Palestinian prisoners, the Basque prisoners, the prisoners of Huanuni ... that is the reason for the unity.
Long live May 1st!
Long live the unity of the entire working class! ”
