The Parliament of the parties of the bankers, the bosses and imperialism passes a skimped law decriminalizing abortion

Though, in years of fighting in the streets, we had already gained the strength to make our unique and non-negotiable claim of legal, safe, free, free and quality abortion a reality.

State and the Church hands off our bodies once and for all!

Together with the working class' struggle, our fight has not ended!

For years, women on the streets have been developing an enormous struggle to conquer our right to decide about our bodies. Our position was always clear: we want legal, safe, free, freely decided and quality abortion! But around our just claim for abortion, two other positions were also expressed: on the one hand, that of the reaction and the Church that oppose our demand and, on the other, that of the Fernandezes government with its law agreed with the Pope and the anti-worker politicians of the PRO, which is not the claim for which we are mobilizing.

This was finally the law that was passed in the bandit den of Parliament. Thus, on 12/30, (together with the "1,000 days" Act) the law to legalize abortion agreed by the UIA (Industrial bosses chamber) government and the Church was voted on.

We wrested this partial concession from the bourgeoisie with years of struggle in the streets, carrying out massive mobilizations and international strikes on March 8. For this reason, the same bosses' politicians from the PJ, the PRO, etc., who for decades forced us to die in hiding and who in 2018 stole our conquest of legal abortion in the Senate, had to vote on this law.

We had within hands reach conquering the whole of our demand and not a trimmed law as the one Congress voted. But the more they submitted us to Parliament thanks to the betrayal of the union bureaucracy and the policy of the leadership of the feminist movement, the more they imposed on us the deception that the bosses' politicians have "legislated for us" and the more the bourgeoisie had a free hand to cut back our demand and impose this trap.
They are using our struggle to give back some prestige to this Parliament, which is a mere rubber stamp office of Wall Street, which today is painted "green" (the pro-abortion movement has green headkerchiefs as their symbol, NT), although they are the ones who are passing the IMF plans that impose brutal sufferings on working women and the exploited as a whole, such as is shown by the fact that the same day they voted on Fernándezes' abortion law, they approved the fierce looting of retirees funds and the trimming of AUH ("universal allotment for each child"), which are mostly received by working women. And all this, sustained by those traitors of the union bureaucracy that were, as part of the infamous Social Pact with the UIA government, the bankers and the oligarchy, the guarantors that all the latter snatched all our demands previously conquested, because they separated and divided our struggle for the demands from the whole labor movement.

The law agreed by the UIA government with the PRO and the Church cuts our demand

The law that Fernández agreed with the PRO and the Pope admits conscientious objectors and legalizes abortion only until week 14, allowing the judges to continue judicializing our right to decide. As part of this same law, the "1,000-day law" was approved, presenting it as a “comprehensive plan for the accompaniment and protection of women and children”. Cheers! With this law of promises of petty subsidies or miserable bags of merchandise, pregnant women will be surrounded by doctors, psychologists, social workers, specialists, etc. to convince them to go ahead with their pregnancy, that is, not to have abortions and to continue producing "mother girls" as Bergoglio, the pedophile priests and the Church like.

The conscientious objectors, the judges who will persecute us if we want to have an abortion after the 14th week and the entire state apparatus will function as a true mechanism of coercion against our right to freely decide on our bodies, which they talk so much about. The State and the Church will continue to meddle against our right to freely decided abortion! Cynics!
But if, despite this coercion, we decided to abort anyway, we would be at the mercy of the utterly destituted state hospitals, devoid of supplies or well kept infrastructure, since 70% of women have no health insurance, while the government continues to apply IMF plans for the repayment of fraudulent debt. Thus, with starvation budgets coming from that same Parliament, the budget for health and public education is maintained in the downside, so the right to abortion will not be free or safe for working women.

This law will not then apply equally to all women, as the bourgeoisie would have us believe. The bourgeois women will have the legality to abort in the best clinic in the country without having to give explanations to any judge, social worker or psychologist. And they, too, will be able to do fabulous business with the new law because they own private clinics and laboratories that make abortion pills.

Under these conditions, the law approved in Parliament will ultimately allow us not to go to jail for having an abortion… but the government and the bosses' politicians very well know that for a long time they have not been in a position to imprison any more female comrades for having an abortion, as was demonstrated with teenage Belen, whom they had to free and absolve thanks to our struggle in the streets.

If the bosses' parties had to approve this law, it was not because they wanted to give us a concession but because they know that we were in a position to conquer everything! If we could not wrest our whole demand from them, it was because the leaderships of the feminist movement, in the hands of the Kirchnerites and the PCR, submitted us to Parliament and to a front of the bosses' politicians where our rights were lowered, mutilated and undermined. In no organization of women or of the combative working class did we vote that our law was the shortened law of Fernández!

The FIT-U voted the trimmed law of the Fernandezes government, agreed with the Church, downsizing the demand of women in the streets

Unfortunately, the FIT-U voted in favor of the IVE (Voluntary interruption of gestation) Law and the "1,000 days Act" in Congress. Its deputies supported a law with conscientious objectors and that continues to guarantee the interference of the Church and the State on our bodies.
Thus, in an open policy of class collaboration, the FIT-U gave political support to the government of the Fernandezes, a servant of the IMF, voting its law agreed with the Vatican and the PRO reactionary and antilabor politicians, who agreed to cut and maim our demand. This is consistent with the policy that the FIT-U leadership has been carrying out of supporting government measures that they consider "progressive" (such as this law) and criticizing the "negative" or "reactionary" measures (such as the attack on the retirements), with which they only beautify this anti-worker and repressive government.

The approval of this law in Congress was presented by the FIT-U and the entire reformist left as a “historic triumph”.
This is a scam because what was voted on is not what we have been fighting for on the streets. Working women not only want legal abortion, but also free, freely decided and quality abortion. And to achieve this, the capitalists and the bosses have to put the money for public health and it is necessary to stop repaying the debt to the IMF. This would never be voted by any government of the capitalists, nor by any bosses politician or any bourgeois "feminist", because it would go against their own class interests. That is why the demand for "legal, free, safe, freely decided and quality abortion" can only be effectively conquered with the feminist movement fighting alongside the working class, with its methods of fighting, i.e., hands-down strikes, picket lines and the general strike, because only then can we touch the interests of the capitalists and their property to make all our claims come true.
But the FIT-U downgraded the program of working women in order to support the law that the Fernandezes anti-labor government agreed with the Pope, forging a “transversal front” with the Frente de Todos, the PRO and other bosses' parties in Parliament . Thus they legitimized the trap that was carried out in Congress.

The parliamentary left was the enemy of calling for the setting up of a worker front of struggle of all the combative workers' organizations, together with the oil mill workers who were fighting for a decent monthly wage of $ 93 thousand (about usd 700), which would be headed by working women, to face the trap of the Congress of the Nation, fighting for legal, freely decided, safe and free abortion as part of the demands of the entire labor movement for wages, work, etc. and defeating the looting of pensions. That is, a front together with the working class to break with the infamous Social Pact of the union bureaucracy with the Fernandezes and the capitalists and resume the path of the revolutionary general strike of December 18 and 19, 2017, when we workers surrounded Parliament with tons of hand whirled stones. There were conditions to make this a reality.
At 180 ° from this, the FIT-U led our fight to the dead end of the bourgeois Parliament and gave support to a law that the Fernandezes government agreed with the PRO reactionary anti-labor politicians and with the Catholic Church! And the more they subjected us to Parliament, calling to surround it to “pressure” the Senate and “convince its indecisive legislators”, the more they kept us from winning our demand. In this way they allowed the bourgeoisie to manipulate the struggle of millions of working women and go on opening up illusions, not only in Argentina but among millions of working women in Latin America and the world, that laws favoring the masses can be conquered at the hands of the bosses' politicians in the bourgeois Parliament.

These same currents hold that the Fernandezes' law "is a blow to the clergy" and that next "we are going for the separation of the Church from the State" ... as if this could be done through a law in Parliament. The Church that blessed the sabers of the genocidal military dictatorship of Videla, is not only a religious institution, but it is one of the strongest capitalist forces in Argentina, owner as it is (from the Vatican) of Banco Ambrosiano, all FIAT and Techint plants, and partner of the oligarchy of the Rural Society. It is part of the state. For this reason, contrary to what the FIT-U leadership affirms, their separation is impossible without touching their private property and that of the capitalists, a question that no bourgeois Parliament will ever vote on.

Working women want it all! For abortion to be legal, freely decided, safe, free and quality: let the capitalists put up the money!

As part of our fight to effectively conquer our rights, we will not hesitate to use this ultra-partial concession that we wrested from the capitalists and the bosses' politicians, but if we do not deepen our fight and fight for everything, we will lose even this. For example, in the province of Salta, 95% of the doctors at the main hospital in the province, the Maternal and Child Hospital, have declared themselves "conscientious objectors", while we continue to have comrades prosecuted and persecuted for having an abortion. This is a sample button of how they even want to deny us access to what the mean law of Parliament stipulates.

For this, our struggle cannot be left in the hands of the politicians and bosses' parties. Out with the bosses from our struggle!

The women's movement's demands in the streets will succeed alongside the working class and its fighting organizations. We call on all the comrades who have been fighting for their just rights to set up a committee for women workers fight to make this perspective a reality. We must deepen our combat by resuming the path of December 18 and 19, 2017 and internationally as we did on March 8, fighting against the imperialist pirates.

To make our demand come true, we must expropriate the capitalists.

To make abortion safe and free: Triple the budget for Health and Education based on progressive taxes on the capitalists and the break with the IMF! Expropriation of all private clinics and laboratories!

For abortion to be freely decided: Get the hands of all the institutions of the State and the Church off our bodies! Separation of the Church from the State! Expropriation of all Church assets, without compensation and under workers' control! For a secular, free, scientific and quality education, which includes comprehensive sexual education provided by professionals!

Down with the union bureaucracy! We must break the social pact and strike with the method of the working class: the take-over or hands-down strike, the picket line and the general strike! We must ignore the anti-labor collective bargains signed by the union bureaucracy and raise the same demand of oil mill eorkerd of 93 thousand pesos of monthly minimum wage for all workers!

Enough of submitting our demands to the bourgeois government and politicians! For a feminist movement independent of the State, the Church and the bosses' politicians! Open the way for working woman!
