THE WIVES OF THE MINERS OF HWANGE-ZIMBABWE AND PAITITI-BOLIVIA IN THE FIRST LINE OF THE STRUGGLE WITH HERS
HUSBANDS AGAINST THE IMPERIALIST TRANSNATIONALS AND THE SERVENT GOVERNMENTS!
OPEN THE ROAD TO WORKING WOMEN WORLDWIDE!
The Paititi Mineworkers' Housewives Committee (Santa Cruz-Bolivia), which is the association of wives of the workers of the Paititi Metalworkers Union, since February 2 took the offices of the Paititi Mining Company (EMIPA) together to their children on a hunger strike in support of their husbands who demand decent health insurance.
Similarly, on the other side of the continent, hundreds of wives of the miners of HwangeCollieryCompanyLimited (Zimbabwe) have been organizing a sit-in on the premises of this company since last week, demanding the payment of their outstanding salaries.
They sing: "The 200 dollars promised by the manager are little"! Open the road for the working woman! Enough of union bureaucracy that surrenders the struggle of the minersfamilies! Expropriation of the mining transnationals companies without compensation and under workers control to guarantee all the demands of the exploited, like education, health and decent and quality homes!
It is the best time for the miners of Huanuni, Escondida, Cerro Verde, among others stand up to face as a single fist the mining transnationals companies that amass juicy profits at the expense of the bones, muscles and lungs of the miners all over the world. From the sinkholes of Zimbabwe to Bolivia, from Río Turbio to the Orinoco-Venezuela Mining Arc! One single class, one single fight against the transnational mining companies and their servant governments!
