The clamor of El Alto exploited:
Justice for our martyrs and unconditional freedom to the political prisoners!
We neither forget nor forgive! No reconciliation!
As part of civic acts in commemoration at 35 years of El Alto creation and based on lies the Senators summoned a session to be carried out in the city of El Alto (March 5 in the morning) at the July 25 headquarters of the Federation of Neighborhood Boards of Senkata (Senkata), where they allegedly would decree laws in favor of El Alto and the victims of the Senkata massacre. Actually, what the coup Government and the bosses' parties are seeking is to take political benefit by taking advantage of the pain and mourning of the people suffering from a true military dictatorship. Great was their surprise when they met the wrath of a town that for hundreds self-covened to repudiate them.
This commemorative day of March 5 began with a Mass for Senkata's Fallen at the San Francisco parish of Assisi; relatives of the victims of the Senkata massacre, neighbors were attending. Also Senators of all the bosses' parties, who arrived at Senkata in luxury cars and well made up for the bourgeois media cameras that also were there, sheltered by police officers and state intelligence agents in plainclothes who recorded the attendees straightforwardly. The family members expressed their most felt demands in humble posters as follows:
“Unconditional freedom for all political prisoners in El Alto”, “Justice for our dead, wounded and tortured”, “Justice for my son”, “Justice for our fallen, I want justice for my husband”, “I am injured with eight bullets coming from the police on November 11, South Zone”, “Justice for the victims of the Senkata - Sacaba massacres”, “Trial and punishment for those responsible for the Senkata massacre”, “I am not a terrorist, I am a worker injured by a bullet of the murderous police”, “The MAS agreed and left Senkata alone, while the government of Añez sent (the police) to massacre us”, among many other slogans.
Mothers, daughters and sons of victims dressed in black for mourning and with a sea of tears cried in unison the cry of "JUSTICE" in the church. They could not hide the hatred towards those who came to take political advantage of the sadness, so when senators addressed their session at the July 25 Social Headquarters of the Federation of Neighborhood Boards of Senkata (a few meters from the church), the neighbors, unions, workers, students, parents told them “Where were you when they massacred us?”, “Assassins”, “Pedro traitor, Pedro useless (referring to former miner Pedro Montes, current senator for the MAS and former COB leader)”, “Ortiz is a murderer (senator for Democrat Unity for the department of Santa Cruz)”. They also denounced the bourgeois media that, with lies and slander, echo the positions of the coup government against the exploited of El Alto. The situation was very heated due to the impudence, cynicism and shamelessness of all the senators who tried to wash their blood-stained hands.
Meanwhile the Association of Relatives of Victims of the Senkata Massacre was firm in their positions and was publishing for this day a six-point statement, which basically denounces the MAS that agreed with the coup government of Añez, clarifying strongly that “our dead are not negotiated ”. They demand jail for the massacrers and the torturers of the political prisoners. They denounce the parliamentarians who make the session one day before the meeting of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) to be carried out in Haiti, where the coup government and the State want to erase that there was a "massacre" in Bolivia and that relatives could not participate in that event due to lack of financial resources. They demand full freedom for political prisoners and state that the Association of Relatives of the Victims of the Senkata Massacre is independent of all the bosses' parties that met in Senkata and ignore any person who nominates on behalf of the Association to the general elections of May 3. They denounced the leaderships of the workers' organizations such as the COB, the FEJUVE, the CSUTCB, the CONAMAQ, the Bartolinas, among others, that left them alone and appealed to the base of these organizations to fight together for justice for all our martyrs and freedom for all political prisoners. Long live the firm struggle for political independence of the family victims of the Senkata massacre! Down with the "pacification deal" of the MAS, the bureaucracy of the COB and the coup government of Áñez under the tutelage of the UN and the OAS!
Open the way to the solidarity of the base of the Bolivian proletariat with the relatives of Senkata with a single statement of demands and for the freedom of political prisoners and justice for our martyrs! The example of the Association of Relatives of the Victims of the Senkata Massacre fighting for political independence in each worker organization must be followed and extended!
The courage of the Association in these almost four months has not lowered their guard before the onslaught of the State and different bourgeois parties like the MAS that sought to corrupt the fight. That vigor that remained in resistance has been the axis so that the neighbors of Senkata, workers, young people, self-convened students appeared in the civic day of yesterday in support of the demand of “justice and freedom”, crowded at the doors of the Headquarters where the Senators were reunited, and together with the relatives and victims of the November massacre all of them shouted aloud "Murderers!".
Those screams of rage prevented them from continuing the session. Suddenly, hundreds of well-armed policemen appeared, on motorcycles, vans, even an Armed Forces truck that surrounded the Social Headquarters ready to repress to ensure the senators leave. A brutal repression occurred, this action by the murderous police brought to mind the scenes of the Senkata massacre on November 19.
Not caring for children from the 25 de Julio school that were attending the ceremonies, dozens of tear gas canisters were shot to help Ortiz, who was a prisoner of the hatred and rage of people that were slaughtered. Really, you cannot salute the murderers of the people with flowers. The police also helped all the senators of the National Congress. The shouts, rage, expressions of helplessness and cries again took the scene in the situation, while the Senate session moved to the City Hall of El Alto, well guarded by the repressive forces of the State.
The media again began with their lies and to name El Alto exploited as "shock groups", "Massista", among other typical abuses of agents of the transnationals. Other voices, related to Áñez, did not fall behind and argued that there were "infiltrated", with the aim of distorting the support and solidarity of workers, students, neighbors, poor peasants, for the struggle of family members of and victims of the Senkata massacre. Meanwhile the relatives clarified that the protest is in repudiation of the authorities that ordered the massacre and the MAS (Evo Morales' party) that abandoned them.
The spark that burst yesterday in Senkata ran and extended the fire as a powder fuse in the following hours when people learnt that Áñez was to come to the Honor Session of the Municipal Council of El Alto for the civic date, with government authorities and mayor Soledad Chapetón of El Alto. Consequently, hundreds of Altenios spontaneously repudiated the people murderers from outside of the City Hall, with booing and the cry of "MURDERERS, MURDERERS", "OUT OF EL ALTO", "AÑEZ DICTATOR", while snipers in the roofs of the buildings and a battallion of hundreds of policemen reinforced by the La Paz city police began to arrest the fighters and to exert again a brutal repression, with a balance of eight detainees, including a journalist.
Hate could not be suppressed anymore, the fury was unleashed until late at night when in hard fighting with the police people burned the box they were preparing for the civic parade where the fascist Añez would show herself next to mayor Chapeton.
Unconditional and unrestricted freedom to the political prisoners of El Alto, Bolivia, and the world! Justice for all our fallen martyrs in the Senkata, Ovejuyo, Sacaba massacres! We are not "terrorists", the only terrorists are the state, the chaste of army officers, the murderous police and the transnational looters! For labor and popular courts to judge and punish the murderers of the people!
Enough of torture, repressiom, imprisoning and massacre against the workers, students and poor peasants!
