Statement of the Association of Relatives of Victims of the Senkata Massacre:
BEFORE THE EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF PARLIAMENT IN SENKATA,
WE STATE:
1. We repudiate the fact that for more than 3 months the parliamentarians have been pretending to remember Senkata and come to wash their hands of it: the MAS made a pact and left the Senkata victims alone, while the Añez government was the one who ordered the massacres. Each of them has made promises to us that they have not kept them. We say to all parliamentarians: With our dead, there is no negotiation!
2. We demand prison for all those politically and materially responsible for the massacres, those who brutally repressed us as well as those who tortured political prisoners. Justice for our dead wounded and tortured ones!
3. We denounce that the parliamentarians are holding this session one day away from the meeting of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) in Haiti, in which the Bolivian state and government want to go and lie about there were no massacres in Bolivia in the months of October and November 2019. We would like to make it known that due to lack of economic resources we have not been able to attend this hearing to denounce in first person what happened and what we lived through.
4. We demand full freedom for political prisoners, victims of persecution in the political crisis that began last year.
5. We declare that the Association is independent of all the political parties that came to the meeting and we do not know any person who will run in the name of the Association for the elections of May 3rd. Enough of using the pain of the families for electoral purposes!
6. We denounce that the leaderships that should have supported us left us alone: the COB, the FEJUVE, the CSUTCB, the CONAMAQ, and the Bartolinas among others. We call on the bases to fight for justice for the martyrs and freedom for the prisoners!
