Yesterday it was a day of huge political activity, political discussion and action in the streets. The day got warmed up due to work stoppages, blockade of streets and resistance actions. March 15 surpassed the expectations of the union leaderships. Tens of thousands of workers went into the streets to protest against the outsourcing labour and social security reform that would destroy pensions and impose workers to work till 75 years old.
The bourgeois plan commanded by the imperialist TNCs is up to the situation, an attack at the level of the terrible crisis blowing Brazil and they are putting the costs of the crisis on workers fiercely. Such “social security reform” means a terrible attack on workers ´historical gains like pensions as well as destroys the labour agreement and prepares the conditions for outsourcing and a total flexibility at work, develops a policy for labour dismissals, suspensions and closure of factories and spending budget´s cuts.
The street actions showed a huge disposition to fight on the part of the Brazilian workers, youth and exploited. All across the country street protests were held. Bridges and highways kept blockade. Transport services were paralized. Those without housing went into the streets. Youth participated in the assembly of professors who voted to organize the strike. Some states like Sergipe are already in strike. In Campo Grande there is an ongoing strike for undetermined time against the Social Security Reform.
Despite it was not developed big actions in the industry sector, some auto-part industry such as Volkswagen, Mercedes and GM went into strike and delayed the production. Besides there was transport stoppage that affected a lot the normal working order of that sector. Even the mood among workers was not to insult or feel themselves “affected” by the transport stoppage; just the contrary, the spirit was total dissatisfaction and great disposition to fight.
In the capital of Sao Pablo more than 200.000 protesters gathered together. The leaderships of workers, the union” leaders” insisted on separated everything. Every trade union in the capital had his own truck to carry out his public meeting. In the truck of CUT where the leaders of PT, PCdoB and PCO spoke, Dilma and Lula were defended and the policy was reduced to “put pressure on parliamentary men for them to vote against the Reform law”.
In CSP-Conlutas while the leaders of PSTU, MAIS and sectors of PSOL were speaking, it was heard “general strike” but in general. It was not said how to conquer the general strike, they did not call on workers to break with the agreements signed with bosses that sold out collective agreements and opened the road to labour flexibility. This is the main point for which the industrial sector cannot openly intervene in the political scene. Despite this, anyone could feel the euphoria in the streets, the disposition to fight is latent. In Sao Pablo, the demo in the capital took the centre of the economic city almost all along the day. The means of transport stoppage paralyzed the common flow in the Paulist capital while the Metro was semi-paralyzed even at night offering a partial service and they did not reach the station of integration. All of these guaranteed that the fighting day could be developed till the end of the day.
In the cities like Rio de Janeiro the transport did not go into strike but thousands of protesters took to the inner city´s streets as well as in other cities. In Fortaleza around 20.000 protesters gathered together. Transport went into strike, bus drivers were in charge of the pickets in the parking lots, deflating the tires and even removed them from the busses preventing strike-breakers from acting. In Paraná, in the cities Curitiba, Londrina and Maringá transports, health workers, bank workers, teachers and metal workers participated in the fighting day. In Cuiabá (Mato Grosso)tens of thousands marched and the same happened in the outskirt and cities in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. The metal workers of Mercedes Benz de Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais) and the oil workers of Paraná paralyzed all the activities. The metal workers from the Southern region in Sao Pablo adhered to the fighting day and stoppage. The metallurgic workers from San José dos Campos also protested.
Workers made their presence felt in the streets all along the country. All we need is to unified and centralized those huge forces. It is only necessary that from the unions and fighting organizations they launch a firm call on workers to centralized workers in struggle, the unemployed, militant students and exploited from countryside and cities to set up an Emergency Congress. This will not be proposed by any union bureaucrat. This will not be achieved by putting pressure on any PM ; that´s not the way to prevent government from approving the evil Social security Reform.
Today more than ever it is necessary to stop from playing hide and seek with the General Strike. Workers are ready to fight, it is a need to unify their ranks.
Set up a true worker movement together with the poor peasants. It is a need to make a true Brazil to stand up: a Brazil of exploited from countryside and city. Nothing will be achieved through that Congress of thieves who defrauded the people and filled their pockets with money taken from our work. They don’t represent us!
To topple down the slavery plan of the TNCs…
Organize immediately a National Congress of employed and unemployed workers, poor peasants and militant students to defeat the government attack commanded by the TNCs and Wall Street LET´S BREAK WITH THE SOCIAL PEACE! LET´S ORGANIZE AN EMERGENCY CONGRESS AND LET´S SET A DATE FOR THE GENERAL STRIKE! FROM CUT, CTB, CSP-CONLUTAS, INTERSINDICAL AND ALL THE TRADE UNIONS AND WORKER ORGANIZATIONS LET´S CALL FOR IT WITHOUT DELAY!
ASSEMBLIES IN ALL THE FACTORIES, WORKER PLACES, SCHOOLS, NEIGHBOURHOODS AND COUNTRYSIDE TO VOTE RANK AND FILE DELEGATES WITH MANDATE TO LAUNCH A BATTLE AGAINST THE SLAVERY BOSSES AND ILLIGITIMATE TEMER GOVERNMENT AND TO CONFRONT THE IMPERIALISM!

ONLY IN THAT WAY WE WILL DEFEAT THE SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM, AND GAIN OUR DEMNADS AND DECENT LIFE AND WORK CONDITIONS!
