The workers and the poor people rebel in Viña del Mar against the hated government of Piñera and the Pinochetista regime
At the debut of the annual “song festival” of Viña del Mar, which means a millionaire expenditure by the municipality whose mayor is Pinochetista Virginia Reginato and the television channels, hundreds of young people and workers from the hills, tired of suffering the worst living conditions for decades, displayed all their fury, leading a revolutionary fight against this festival. Without drinking water or sewage system and living in camps, this is the reality for the exploited of Viña del Mar, while year after year corrupt politicians and the bourgeois media are dedicated to highlighting the “glamor” of this city, host of this festival to which they allocate millions of pesos at the expense of the oppressed masses. One of the slogans most felt by those below is: "Viña has a festival but no hospital" alluding to the deplorable infrastructure of Gustavo Fricke Hospital where most of the poor people are served.
Against this, the workers and the exploited said “enough is enough!” and lashed out with their just class hatred against the luxurious Hotel O’Higgins where the artists who perform at the festival are staying. They burned luxury cars that were outside it, while concentrations were developing in the main streets that lead to the Quinta Vergara (place where the festival is held), barricades were erected and hard confrontations with the murderous pacos developed, where 23 of them ended up injured. It was not long before the villagers from the camps located on the hills descended into the city to join the battle. It lasted until late at night. The barricades were spreading, the Town Hall of the Pinochetista mayor was attacked and even the facilities of car sales companies also succumbed to the hatred of the exploited.
In the streets the people in struggle came together showing that the Chile that woke up is far from having fallen asleep, no matter how many traps the government and its lackeys of the traitorous leaderships want to impose.
Even against the television channels that sought to show that the festival was developing “normally”, within the Quinta Vergara they did not stop chanting “Killer Piñera just like Pinochet” or “Guilty Piñera, your hands have blood on” (because we don't forget all the comrades fallen at the hands of the repressive forces of this murderous government.)
The bourgeoisie wanted to make their frivolous festival in a "calm" way, seeking to hide our martyrs, wounded and imprisoned under their red carpet ... They did not count on those below to continue fighting for dignity and that we will not stop until we see the ruins of this regime of misery, oppression and looting that we have been suffering for more than 30 years.
