Chile - November 3rd, 2020 The "Constitutional Convention" emanating from the plebiscite is... Neither free, nor democratic or sovereign... It's an appendage of the Pinochetista regime, protected by the genocidal militiamen and imperialism On Sunday 10/25 the trap of the "constituent plebiscite" was finally consummated. The murderer Piñera, plus the former Concertacion, the capitalists, imperialism and all the bosses' politicians celebrate their result, the triumph of the Approve, because they are the true winners of this plebiscite. Both with the victory of the Approval and the Rejection, Piñera is who continues in the government, the Pinochetist caste of officers that remains intact, all the corrupt politicians of the former Concertación and the Right who remain in Parliament, and the capitalists, the bankers and the transnationals that maintain their juicy businesses and their plunder of the wealth of our nation. This is what happened. That is why this undemocratic plebiscite is a true fraud. But in addition, in the plebiscite the option "Constitutional Convention" has won as the body to draft a new Constitution, just as the "pacos de rojo" of the PC, the Broad Front and the union bureaucracies of the Social Unity Table wanted. These leaderships affirm that there we will be able to advance in achieving our just demands, when this Convention is a totally undemocratic and rigged scam. The “Constitutional Convention”, which arose from the deal sealed hurriedly and sneakily behind the people´s backs between Piñera, the former Concertación and the FrenteAmplio, will be totally controlled by the Pinochetista regime and will not have the power to define anything. Actually it is regulated by and will work based on the disastrous law 21,200 of "constitutional reform" that was promulgated by that den of bandits of the rubber stamp parliament, Wall Street lackey. Said law 21,200 establishes that the "Constitutional Convention" will be made up of only 155 parliamentarians and, furthermore, making it a requirement to obtain thousands of signatures so that independent candidates can present themselves, thus facilitating that the parties of the Pinochet regime that we are fighting to defeat are the ones get the most seats. It will be a "constituent" composed of an absolute majority of the same parties that for 30 years have administered the regime of the 1980 Constitution! In addition, each article of the “new” Constitution must be approved with a minimum quorum of 2/3, which means that the former Concertación and the Pinochetista Right a priori have full veto power to reject everything that does not conform to the interests of the capitalists. Along with this, the “Constitutional Convention” cannot review any firm judicial sentence decreed by the Pinochetist-concertationist judges such as the hell sentences of more than 25 years that they are passing against political prisoners to keep them hostage in the dungeons of the regime and thus chastising all the fighters of the working class and the rebellious youth. But the main point is that this "Constitutional Convention" cannot intervene or exercise any executive, legislative or judicial function... It cannot remove Piñera or the other bosses' politicians who have their hands stained with the blood of our martyrs. That is, they guarantee that they all keep staying! Actually, while the "constituent process" lasts, which will be until May-June 2022, not only does the '80 Constitution continue to govern, but they also ensure that Piñera can finish his presidenmtial term in March 2022 and from La Moneda continue to apply the worst plans of hunger, misery and repression at the service of imperialism. The same goes for Parliament, where the parties serving imperialism will be able to continue sitting and voting all kinds of laws at the service of the capitalists and Wall Street against the workers and the people. This "Constitutional Convention" cannot ignore or eliminate any political, economic or military treaty with imperialism, guaranteeing that the latter continues to plunder the nation. How could it be otherwise, these servants of Wall Street have agreed in advance that not a single interest would be touched to the imperialist transnationals! Obviously, to ensure this, there are the genocidal generals of the armed forces who, with their bayonets, are the ones who ultimately have guaranteed and will go on guaranteeing the safeguard of the private property of the capitalists and the imperialist plunder of our wealth. Furthermore, this "Constitutional Convention" will respect all the electoral processes that will take place next year under the 1980 Constitution and all the mandates of the future mayors, deputies, senators who will be elected... and even the president. The bourgeoisie thus ensures that the same parties of the regime that have been ruling Chile for decades are the ones that remain in power against the masses. What “constituent in favor of the people” are they talking about? We are facing a "constituent" that will not befree, democratic, or sovereign, but an appendage of the Pinochet regime, protected by the genocidal military and imperialism. The truth of this rigged "constituent" is that the same politicians and employer parties of the regime, servants of imperialism, will deliberate for 1 year around what cosmetic and minimal self-reforms they can introduce in a new Constitution that will guarantee to maintain the fundamentals of the Constitution of the '80 against the exploited and that their institutions of domination come out strengthened, changing something so that everything remains the same. They will do this by portraying themselves as "democratic", while those of us below are still in worse conditions: without bread, without work, with hunger pensions from the AFPs, without access to quality education and health, without land for the peasants of Mapuche ethnic origin, battered by the coronavirus pandemic and the health crisis, with our political prisoners in prison and our martyrs still crying out for justice. Enough lies! We are facing a vile trap from those above to get us off the streets definitively, numb the Chile that woke up and divert our revolutionary combat. Today they want to subject us to that rigged "constituent", which will be controlled by themselves so that the power of those who for 30 years have imposed a true hell on us below remains intact ...
