Chile today at a crossroads like in 1973
Reform versus Revolution
When the masses were in the streets, Piñera, hated by all the Chilean people, had his head spinning ... but Piñera was saved!
The Pinochetist civic-military regime is still intact.
The murderous pacos are enjoying freedom.
Workers are a thousand times poorer than a year ago.
Imperialism redoubled its plunder of Chile.
The rebellious youth jumped the turnstiles. It left more than 60 dead and hundreds of wounded who cry out for justice.
2,500 prisoners are in prisons.
The Pinochetist judges are imposing on the fighters sentences of 6 to 11 years in prison.
Free education is more and more distant here.
Copper for the worker's children goes abroad in tons through the enslaved ports of Chile.
The masses were driven off the streets by an infamous pact among Piñera, the former Concertación, and Stalinism and their union bureaucracies.
The leftist parliamentarians (who think that the painful living conditions of the masses can be changed through the vote), can they tell us why they affirm that it´s the people who won in the elections for that Constituent Assembly, a scam protected by the bourgeoisie, its parties and its political servants ?
That rigged Constituent Assembly is a farce that has re-stabilized the Pinochetist regime and its government in a spurious pact with the treacherous leaderships of the masses.
What are they celebrating?
In the 1970s, Stalinism and its boss Fidel Castro deceived the people with the sinister farce of the "peaceful way to socialism" that filled Chile with working class blood.
Now, without blushing, they proclaim the “peaceful way” to what they call “extreme bourgeois democracy” with which they only have saved the repressive government from falling into the hands of the masses while the Pinochetist pacos and Armed Forces remain intact.
We insist, why do they say that the masses have succeeded, when they have been taken off the streets, which is the only place where it´s possible for them to reach victory?
Engels, when fighting the charlatan servants of the capitalists' parliaments, asserted that assigning universal suffrage the power to transform the lives of the workers was not only an infamy, but a betrayal. Universal suffrage, Engels insisted, serves only to carry out a "globular recount of forces."
The parliamentary cretinism of the reformists is already incurable ... it is a Kautskyism of the 21st century that would have made Kautsky himself blush.
Piñera defeated? That's a lie! ... He had been cornered in La Moneda and they saved him with this bloody farce. A Constituent Assembly with blood and treason.
We Socialists are not going to greet the governments, regimes and parliaments of the bourgeoisie and the capitalists. From them nothing, nothing at all, will the masses be able to conquer except perhaps a couple of alms to maintain their exploitation conditions and the businesses of those above.
These charlatans of the so-called "New Left" are telling the workers that the governments and regimes of the oppressors can be defeated by means of universal suffrage.
Piñera and the Pinochet generals are not afraid at all...
Their business? All safe.
They have taken the exploited of Chile off the streets of dignity, just as the Colombian masses were coming out to fight.
Chilean Stalinism celebrates. Its appendages too.
In their three tickets with the bourgeoisie (PC, Frente Amplio and "independents") they got an excellent election...
The "red pacos" have imposed their will, and the former Trotskyists celebrate?
Who are they laughing at?
In the Plaza de la Dignidad and in the Alameda Avenue the barricades will be re-lit, the first lines will be better equipped, the ports will be stopped, in the hands of the miners the copper from Chile will be for free education ... Piñera's or his successor's head will fall through the streets ... And this, reformist gentlemen will be the return of the revolution that you gave in.
That farcical Constituent Assembly, protected by the generals, will rot in the fires of the revolution. Don't party...
Socialist revolution or misery of the politics of reformism.
