The coronavirus has hit hard in Russia, which is now the third country in the world in number of infections (almost 400 thousand), Putin lifted the quarantine for workers to return to work. But still, with workers returning to factories exposed to contagion in a health system that has already collapsed, unemployment in Russia is estimated will quadruple to more than 8 million unemployed.
Putin boasts of the "low mortality" of the virus in Russia, but everyone knows that his statistics are false because coronavirus deaths are recorded as heart attacks or caused by pre-existing diseases. This is reported by the health personnel, who also denounce the collapse of the health system, the lack of supplies and protection material, as well as its appalling working conditions and low wages. Doctors earn a monthly average of USD 480 (not to mention nurses and assistants!) And they are discounted the days they do not work if they are isolated due to the risk of contagion. And although in Putin's Russia there is no right to protest, health personnel have stopped work denouncing these working conditions. Three doctors mysteriously "fell" out the window of the hospitals where they worked after exposing these situations.
The just hatred of the masses against Putin and the entire Russian oligarchy has been expressed even in the streets in massive protests in 2017 and 2019 that defied the prohibitions, and increases every day: even official statistics recognize that Putin's "image" has collapsed. That's because this murderer, strengthened after playing his role as a hitman of imperialism against the Syrian revolution that was drowned in blood, and also against the Ukrainian revolution that was strangled, has redoubled the attack against the Russian workers and the nationalities that Great Russia oppresses. He unloaded on the back of the exploited all the weight of the crisis of the Russian economy hit by the fall of oil prices, the US embargo, the military expenses imposed by imperialism, and the successive devaluations that brought down the minimum wage to USD 160. Putin also has deepened his regime of terror by imposing new indictments and sanctions against demonstrations, legalizing domestic violence against women and children.
In Moscow, there is no hospital bed for workers or a decent salary for doctors, but they have developed a facial recognition program with street cameras to track the movements of all residents.
At least 5 journalists were arrested for protesting attacks on journalists and bloggers critical of Putin; the families of political prisoners, such as the youth of Penza sentenced to 18 years in prison in a framed-up cause, denounce the terrible conditions in which they are being kept detained, suffering poor nutrition, devoid of sunlight (with diseases such as tuberculosis and coronavirus cases already multiplying in detention centers and prisons) and demand the immediate release of all political prisoners.
That is the true Russia of Putin, whom the entire left has been trying for years to present as an anti-imperialist and "friend of the peoples" while he massacred the Syrian masses on account of imperialism and strangled the Ukrainian revolution! This is a regime of terror against the masses, who are subjected to misery, exploitation and repression!
