The words by comrade James, textile worker leader, as Member of the WIL of Zimbabwe, and also on behalf of the Committee of struggle of the miners in Marikana
“Massacres and genocides of the oppressed peoples are in the hands of imperialist looting. Thefts of minerals, of the lands, of the riches of our soils, have provoked bloody genocides, such as in CONGO. That is typical of their action... that is their "modus operandi" to dominate the oppressed peoples... And there are still so-called "left" currents who say that imperialism expands its dominance in the world bringing democracy and not massacres like this.
“The extermination caused by imperialism in Syria, is its normal actions.
“The defeat of Syria and the revolution of the Maghreb and the Middle East returns to strengthen Governments trafficking Africa black slavery into Europe. Hundreds of thousands of workers are seeking a better life in Europe. When passing through North Africa they are achieved by traffickers of slaves that charge them $2,000 to cross the Mediterranean, issue that many times they do not even make, as the traffickers are left with the silver and leave ships sinking.
“This means that there is a common struggle of the proletariat in the North and southern Africa. Since also in South Africa we have, with Mugabe and Zuma, our Gadhafis and Al-Assads, and the attack to the masses...
“The massacre in Syria is a warning against anyone who tries to stand up for their rights, as in Marikana...
“The black working class, with its fighting in Africa, has carried their fight inside the United States.
“The Anglo American (mining company, NT) sells its gold and diamonds on Fifth Avenue in New York. The bankers of Wall Street are decorated with those minerals stained with blood. Task of the American working class will be to expropriate that oligarchy. Africa produces 80% of the gold, which is hoarded in the reserves of central banks around the world. And the Anglo American says that it has no money for the workers. Therefore to ensure this an attack is launched in South Africa, Zimbabwe...
“The Trotskyists of the workers ' International League (WIL), struggling with workers at Marikana, vendors in Zimbabwe, said workers in Africa that it is the same struggle for “Justice for Michael Brown” starred by our brethren in the United States; it is the same struggle lead by our brothers in Haiti against misery, hunger and slavery. The fact is that the struggle for Syria, is also in the United States, in Marikana, in the mines, and also in Zimbabwe against Mugabe, who is the Gaddafi and the Al-Assad that there.
“For this reason we have been in Marikana proposing to held one more cross for Michael Brown and fighting for our brothers massacred in Syria, because so we fight in self-defense. Once again, today one of my WIL comrades is now in Marikana, considering that we must also add a cross for the miner killed in Chile: Nelson Quichillao... and all the exploited of the world.
“That’s the WIL, and the FLTI. And that was our collaboration to the book, and we come here to say that the forces to stop the massacre in Syria exist and are in the black workers in the United States, in the mine workers in Marikana, in Zimbabwe and in the fight against the Gaddafis and Assads of black Africa as which we suffer that is Mugabe.
“That’s why we are in the FLTI and in this presentation of the book. |
