Faced with the entry of thousands of migrants into Ceuta:
The imperialist government of PSOE and Unidas Podemos deploy the Army to stop the entry of those who risk their lives to reach European territory
The racist policy of deportation of migrants by Vox and the PP is carried out by the PSOE, Podemos and the PCE-IU.
Immediate withdrawal of the Spanish imperialist army from Ceuta!
Free movement, refuge, asylum and papers for all!
Thousands of unacompanied children, and older migrants crossed the border in search of a decent life in Europe. They jumped into the sea trying to swim across the limit that separates Morocco from Ceuta; many succeeded, but some died in the attempt. Many of those who arrived, exhausted, crying, cold and hungry, were immediately returned to Morocco, others are crowded in centers today, waiting to know where they can spend their days and without knowing what will become of their lives, others wander the streets of Ceuta and sleep in the open, hoping that they will be able to live better on European soil.
To prevent those fleeing from the misery caused by Spanish imperialism and Europe alongside the Moroccan regime, from entering the EU, the PSOE Government and Unidas Podemos have deployed the army with tanks in Ceuta. With the Civil Guard along the beach they have forced many minors and older migrants to return to Morocco. These "hot returns" are inhumane since those migrants who escape hunger and even wars, after being cold and risking their lives are forced to wander again in the streets of Morocco, without any future.
On the other hand, it’s known that the Moroccan government facilitated the entry of migrants in response to the hospitalization in Logroño, of the Saharawi leader of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali. In this conflict between the Moroccan Monarchy and the annexed Saharawi people, who are fighting for their self-determination, Spanish colonialism has a great historical responsibility since Western Sahara was a former Spanish colony that it abandoned to Morocco in 1975. Morocco remained as a gendarme while the Spanish monarchical regime and companies benefit from this occupation with the plunder of wealth. On one side and the other, migrants who only seek to get a job to be able to help their families are used as cannon fodder both by the Moroccan Monarchy and by the government of the Spanish State.
The states of Europe, such as the Spanish state, which in 2008 paid for the bankruptcy of the big banks and to get out of their own bankruptcy attacked the masses without mercy, can’t and don’t want to put one Euro for the migrants who arrive on the continent. Letting migrants in means that the European states have to increase their budgets for schools, diners, hospitals, and they are not willing to do so at a time when they have huge deficits. Because all their money is at the service of the fabulous profits of the transnationals and their banks.
Meanwhile what awaits migrants on European soil is to live worse than animals in true concentration camps and inhuman centers, or excluded in ghettos, where they suffer persecution by the state and its murderous police, and or by fascist gangs that want to intimidate and impose terror. They live under constant threat of deportation… and many times they are actually deported. If they get a job, they have no rights, receive the worst wages and have to work in the worst conditions or are directly enslaved.
No more hot returns!
Open the borders! Out with the Immigration Law! Close the CIEs!
Out with the Spanish State from the colonies of Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands!
For the self-determination of the Saharawi people!
Imperialist consensus from the "left":
- The Spanish CP call to defend the "sovereignty" of Spain against the "blackmail of Morocco"
- Anticapitalists ask "not to externalize the borders" and for a consensus in the racist European Union
- The Workers' Front, like the Falange, calls for the defense of national sovereignty and the breaking of relations with Morocco
Many organizations that call themselves “left-wing” have positioned themselves, in one way or another, for the chauvinist defense of Spanish imperialism, endorsing the deployment of the army and the massive deportation of the thousands of people who crossed the border fleeing the consequences of the plundering of their nations by Spanish and European multinationals. That is to say, those leftists of the Spanish monarchical regime are together with the government's response focused on repression to defend the borders of Fortress Europe of the imperialist Maastricht.
The Spanish Communist Party, which is part of the government has called (how could it be otherwise) to defend the "sovereignty" of Spain against the "blackmail of Morocco". In other words, they endorse the deployment of the army to arrest and deport massively more than 6,000 people who crossed the border: The SCP says that Spain must defend "its sovereignty" and the compliance with bourgeois "international law" against "Moroccan blackmail. ", Which they put as the only culprit because" he doesn’t hesitate to put the lives of thousands of people at risk ". Not a word is said about the plundering of Spanish and European imperialism, which is the main cause of migrants leaving their countries to seek a better life. Furthermore, in order to solve the Moroccan conflict with Western Sahara, the SCP puts all its confidence in the necessity of "a common European position" and "more presence of the EU in matters of foreign policy." The SCP shamefully says that an imperialist EU migration policy respectful of international commitments on human rights is necessary.
From Anticapitalists they assure that "what happens in Ceuta is the result of externalizing the borders to countries in which Human Rights are systematically violated, such as Morocco, in exchange for permanent blackmail." They don’t ask at any time for open borders, but for the Spanish state not to delegate to Morocco. In case there is any doubt that what they are saying is something similar to Spain closing its borders in a correct way, they ask the government to "show courage, and manage its own borders without depending on Morocco." In addition, regarding the Saharawi problem Anticapitalists says it’s necessary to comply with "the mandates of the United Nations", as if trusting in this den of thieves the Western Sahara were to achieve its self-determination. This position is shameful since the way in which Spanish imperialism is managing the closure of the borders is based on increasing the height of the Ceuta fence, putting up criminal concertina wires that mutilate migrants who try to jump the fence and with the CIEs, true concentration camps, which are in the Canary Islands.
The Frente Obrero (Workers' Front) has gathered before the Moroccan Embassy under a slogan as imperialist as "for national sovereignty" just as fascist groups such as La Falange have done. It’s the most despicable way for people who call themselves on the left to speak out on the issue of Ceuta, as if Abascal of VOX himself had spoken; they say that you have to defend the borders from those who want to jump them because "they are like actions of war" and that "Spain must be a country with national sovereignty" and "they have our country kidnapped". The cruel policy of Spanish imperialism based on the Immigration Law, the CIES, etc., is not enough for them so they accuse the PSOE-UP government of being "lowering their pants" and calls for "tougher measures against Morocco", such as "the breaking of relations with them" and that "the border with Morocco be closed".
These treacherous social-chauvinist leaderships of the labor movement are the ones that separate the fighting of the European working class for work, wages and against the attacks of the imperialist bosses and their governments, from the combat and solidarity with refugees and migrant workers. This is a huge tragedy not only for those who try to reach European soil but also for the European working class, because by preventing unity in their struggle they give a free rein to the capitalists, as we see today for example about the BBVA-Caixa-Bankia banks, so that they leave thousands of families in the street and can advance in their attack against the exploited.
These chauvinist scoundrels are actually faithful defenders of the profits of the imperialist transnationals that plunder the oppressed peoples of the world. This "new left" defenders of the business of their own imperialisms, together with Stalinism, all the union bureaucracies and the labor aristocracy, have separated the upper layers of the proletariat from the millions of migrant and refugee workers. They have left millions of oppressed workers and sectors who are not in any union to their own fate. Thus they deepen the division among the ranks of the European working class, leaving the way free for the Maastricht governments to pass this offensive on migrants, while the attack on the native working class takes hold.
The only ones who can stop this imperialist catastrophe are the working class of the European countries unifying with their migrant brothers, with the refugees and with the working class of the colonies and semi-colonies.
No people that oppresses another can liberate itself!
In the imperialist countries: The enemy is at home! It is a fundamental task of the working class of these countries, to raise the fight against their own imperialism.
Let the borders be opened! Work, decent life, papers and rights for all!
Make trade unions and workers' organizations to affiliate migrants and refugees as honorary members, so they can fight together with their class siblings in Europe and around the world!
Migrant committees in all unions!
So that everyone can work: distribution of working hours without a pay cut!
One more shift in all factories for the thousands of unemployed and migrant workers to go to work.
We want decent work for everyone now!
Down with the imperialist Maastricht! Down with the xenophobic, “democratic” and “new lefts” governments that all together apply the worst attacks on the European working class, crowding refugees and immigrants into concentration camps and ghettos!
