Catalan National Constituent Assembly
over the ruins of the regime of 78 and Bourbons monarchy

The workers of Catalonia together with those of the Spanish state, leading the struggle in alliance with the poor middle classes, are the only ones who have the strength to face the Monarchy and the parasites of Spanish and Catalan financial capital.
The working class that has no business that ties it to the bourgeoisie, only chains to break, is the only one that can expropriate all banks such as Caixa, BBVA, Santander, Sabadell, etc. without compensation and make them to work under labour control.
The working class is the one that can call its siblings soldiers who are in NATO’s army and set up committees of workers and soldiers.
The working class of the whole of the Spanish state is the only one that, with its methods, can guarantee the right of Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia to their independence. There is no possibility that the Catalan, Basque or Galician people have that right if the parasitic monarchy does not end.
For the Catalan people to have the right to decide, a truly sovereign Catalan National Constituent Assembly is necessary, truly representative with the election of one deputy each 1,000 inhabitants, which, with a single chamber, with revocable officials at any time, earning a worker’s salary, legislate and execute and impart justice.
A Catalan National Constituent Assembly whose first task be the expropriation without compensation and under workers' control of the banks and that return their homes to the thousands of evicted workers.
A National Assembly that imposes progressive taxes on large fortunes, which distributes the hours of work between employed and unemployed workers with a salary equal to the cost of living.
However, this Catalan National Constituent Assembly would not have real power unless it disarms the bourgeoisie and is based on the armament of the people, since, if it took only one measure that would put at risk the property and interests of imperialism and the bourgeoisie, as the only way to conquer the rightful demands of the exploited the armed forces of the Spanish state and NATO, they would dissolve it through blood and fire.
That is why only a workers' and people's government based in the organisms of self-determination, armament and direct democracy will be the only one that will be able to guarantee completely a democratic Catalan National Assembly.
The Trotskyists affirm that a workers' republic is a million times more democratic than the most democratic of the bourgeois republics. Because only the proletariat, which is the only truly national class, which has no ties with imperialism and the imperialist Europe of Maastricht, rising as the vanguard of the oppressed nation, can conquer breaking with imperialism and expropriating banks, factories, lands and all transnationals’ assets, as well as imperialism’s and native bourgeoisie’s. And it can guarantee bread, work, housing, health, education and a decent life for all the exploited.
