In France and the whole Europe…
OPEN THE BORDERS!
DOCUMENTS, HEALTH SERVICES, DECENT WORK AND HOUSING FOR ALL MIGRANTS!
The Mediterranean Sea has turned into the graveyard for thousands of Morrocans, Algerians, Libyans, Eritreans, Sudaneses, Afghans, Iraqis, Syrians that run away from misery, starvation, persecution and massacres, risking their lives to reach Europe. Thousands of migrants are knocking on the doors of Spain, Italy, France, Germany, that is to say, of Maastricht Europe, which has looted and over-exploited the semi-colonial world of the African continente for centuries. Due to the current economic and social crisis, 30-40% of migrants that used get a job in Europe cannot have it anymore, as the companies shut down or offer only part-time jobs.
So far, 1,146 people have died this year while crossing the Mediterranean Sea, trying to get to Europe looking for a decent life and a job to sustain their families. But the doors are shut for them.
If they survive this hard crossing and can get to step on European soil, refugee camps, which are true open-sky, overcrowded prisons, are awaiting them. COVID-19 devastates them. They have no water or the mínimum living conditions. They even suffer from snake-bites, like it happened in Samos, Greece.
Such is the case in France, where immigrants make up 12.38% of the population and are the heart of the working class. Thousands of undocumented, which are not shown in statistics, as the documented ones living under the worst conditions and in the middle of the pandemic, were at the first line making the country to work. Cashiers, hair dressers, bus drivers, delivery men, security, cleaning, housework, hospital personnel, garbage collectors, plus 270 thousand irregular workers that are 80% of the agricultural workers. They work without gloves, masks or alcohol, earn low wages and some even had to change their names in order to share the working permits among them.
This is how the French imperialist bourgeoisie pays the most exploited sector of its working class: with overexploitation, irregular situation, deportation and locking them in overcrowded detention centres, where they don’t even have soap. Also, by harrassing them, imprisoning them, suppressing them and killing them in the suburbs. Inside France they are outcasts. In the tormented Africa, the imperialist France and its Foreign Legion and military bases plunder the huge wealth of that continent by invading Mali, DRC, Ivory Coast, CAR, Tchad, leaving scourged earth.
Between May and October last year and despite the lockdown, fed up with so many hardships; tired of living in terrible conditions, thousands of migrants, exploited from many countries, mostly from Black Africa but also from Algeria and other Arab countries, refugees and undocumented, took to the streets of Paris in the so-called “Solidarity demonstration”, setting up different collectives to get organized, and expressing their hatred and anger to the war cry of “documents, decent housing" and "shut down the detention centres”. As the Black Vest Collectives which were on struggle said: FEAR HAD CHANGED SIDES.
The CGT, Solidaires and other unions voiced their support to these demonstrations, but kept the struggle of the undocumented, immigrants and Black Vests separated from the French working class ranks and their unions, leaving the former on their own.
A year later, the migrants are still the sector that suffers from unemployment the most and their demands are more valid than ever.
It is necessary to organize a decisive struggle of the whole working class to confront the brutal offensive of the imperialist french bourgeoisie against them.
For this, the trade union federations must raise, in the first place, the demands of the undocumented. Break the division imposed by the trade union bureaucracy among the most exploited and subjugated sector and the unionized working class. One single class, one single struggle!
Affiliate the undocumented to all the unions right now!
Documents for all migrants and refugees! Down with the assylum law! Decent housing and work for all! Equal pay for equal work!
Free all the migrants and refugees imprisoned in the “administrative retention centre” where French imperialism has them hostage!
Immediate release of and drop all charges upon all those fighting!
We are one single class, we have the same enemies… Let’s fight together!
For a unified fighting of the whole European working class and its most exploited and oppressed sectors, as the immigrants and undocumented.
Undocumented and Immigrant lives matter!
Out with the imperialist French Pirates from Libya, Mali, Tchad and the entire Black Africa!
Out with the French troops and military bases from the entire tormented Africa!
From Africa to Europe, one single enemy, one single struggle!
Libya, a hell for migrants
The imperialist Europe of Maastricht funds and supplies the Libyan coast guard with equipment for them to prevent the departure of migrants to European coasts, and to stop those who were able to depart, by shooting the precarious wooden boats in which tens of people travel. Even on European shores, they block most of the rescue ships due to “administrative reasons”. They press charges on those ships' crew. They strive for those rescued in the Mediterranean Sea to return to Libya.
According to denounciations, the migrants are terribly treated in Libya. There, they live a true hell, in which rape, murders, tortures, kidnapping, disappearing and starvation are usual. That’s why the migrants rather go embark in any boat than staying or returning to those detention centres. |
