Proposal from Democracia Obrera to FIT in Argentina

The government of the “new left” of Syriza that has put representatives of the most rotten right wing as president of Greece and ministry of economy, today keeps in jail the best of the rebel youth and anti-fascist militants

Immediate and unconditional freedom to Nikos Romanos and all the Greek political prisoners!

As yesterday for the non-prosecution of Savas Matsas, leader of the EEK group linked to PO in Greece…

It is a must for FIT to convene and lead demonstrations or public meetings towards the Greek embassy and all types of actions for the freedom of the rebel youth, fighters against the troika’s regime.

We cannot allow that in the name of the left and the anti-imperialist struggle the workers and rebel youth are imprisoned!

FIT cannot be neutral and in silence facing this serious situation. All the parties composing FIT salute the victory of Syriza –more or less critically- in Greece. The FIT leadership knows perfectly that for us, this is not a victory of the working class but a trap of the “new left” that gave back power to the president Prokopis Pavlopoulos, a representative of the imperialist Greek finance capital, member of the IMF and the EU a partnership with the Morgan Bank.
Despite this huge difference we have, the fact is that the Syriza government is the jailer of the Greek revolution’s young fighters. Even if FIT believes that this government is a “victory of people” or “an expression of their struggle” , there is a non-secondary question, that is, this government keep in jail the rebel youth. It is not possible to ignore this question. We already have a sample of oblivion in Argentina: during years, Las Heras oil workers were isolated, persecuted, imprisoned and condemned to life prison while some of the political parties that today compose the FIT look at the other way. This cannot happen again, let alone in Greece where a government that proclaim to be of the left keep in jail the anti-fascist fighters while the leadership of Golden Down –killers of immigrant workers- were released.
In short: our proposal is that FIT leads a march towards the Greek embassy demanding the freedom of the youth in detention in Greece; and to propel in common worker delegations from all over the world to demand their release in Athens. All the FIT leaders participated in meetings there. It is necessary to come back Greece to release comrades!
The detention of the rebel youth of Greece is a punishment so that the Greek masses not to “dare” to rise up in a revolutionary way to end with their exploitation yoke.  
The Syriza government of “the new left” keeps in jail dozens of anarchist youth detained years ago.


Nikos Romanos together with three young comrades between 20 and 23 years old- Yannis Muchailidis, Adreas Borzoukas, Dimmitris Politis- were detained when they were under 18. They suffered a sentence of over 16 years and it is expected superior sentences.Many revolutionary, anarchist youth and militant leaders such as Nikos Maziotis, Savas Xiros and Christoulas Xiros, suffer sentences of dozens of years and even life imprisonment for fighting against the Troika regime.
This condemn is a punishment for the whole rebel youth because they rebelled against the Troika regime; they fought against the fascists paid by the Greek finance capital; they rebelled in solidarity with the thousands immigrants killed by the fascists and treated as pariahs in the imperialist Europe. The Troika regime condemned them because this youth is the germen of the revolution, their struggle is part of the fight for bread, the future of the exploited youth, decent housing, salary.
The Troika regime knows that their struggle is part of the fight of the rank and file soldiers’ councils; rank and file soldiers who went to the military bases seeking decent salary and housing. They are flesh and blood of the military bases that from 2008 on have said they would not repress the people on behalf of the Greek finance capital and his partners of the Troika since they are friends, brothers and sons of the people sunk in the misery by the Geek imperialist parasites of the EU, and IMF.
The fight for their freedom is in the hands of the rebel youth and the worker and students organizations!

 We are convinced that in the hands of the soldiers’ councils already set up inside the Greek army that fight against the fascist officers, in the working class and exploited masses as well as the European working class as a whole defeating the treacherous bureaucracy of the PC-GSEE-ADEDY are the forces to fight for the freedom of the youth in prison.
The sentence against the rebel youth is a sentence against the whole Greek people who rose up against the Troika regime, the bankers and Greek ship-owners! We cannot allow the comrades to be kept in prison one more minute!
FIT must lead an international campaign of struggle and mobilization all around the world to conquer the freedom of the comrades detained in Greece. The fight for the freedom of Nikos Romanos and all the Greek youth is the same fight for the freedom of the Palestinian resistance tortured in the Mossad’s dungeons and for the acquittal of Las Heras workers.
We cannot believe the FIT silence facing the fact that the fighters of the Greek revolution are in the dungeons of the Syriza government can be a minor oversight. It would be unfortunate to hide such degradation in the name of socialism. Perhaps we are not aware of the campaign the FIT is carried on at international level for the freedom of the Greek rebel youth. Of course, if such campaign already exists we will endorse to it.  In spite of it, we already have the antecedent of “oblivion” applied by many of the currents that form the FIT in the case of Las Heras workers, Argentina, today condemned to life prison. We expect this event not to happen again in the case of the Greek youth. 
Perhaps the FIT leadership is giving time to Tsipras to rectify himself and release them. But Tsipras came to government months ago. Workers don´t recover their salary yet. The cut spending plan and attack on exploited get deep. The new managers “of the left” of the Syriza government don’t give breath to the exploited. The fascist leaders of Golden Down are released from prison. But the Greek rebel youth are rotten in the dungeons of the vile regime of the murderous colonels that belong to the Greek army.
Once we have said that, we set a proposal- we insist on that-: that all the political parties that form part of the FIT immediately lead a demonstration towards the Greek embassy to demand the immediate freedom of the comrades in the jails of the Syriza government. To demand Tsipras to free immediately and unconditionally the revolutionary young Nikos Romanos and all his comrades, to free the militants of the groups like Fire Cells Conspiracy, N17, Revolutionary Fight and to free the 4500 immigrant workers who are piled up in true concentration camps in the Greek-Turkey border.
We propose that from FIT to the PO brother party- the EEK in Greece, to the CCR of PTS inside the NPA and all the currents in solidarity with FIT at international level take as yours this struggle to free the fighters of the Greek revolution still in the jails of the new government of Greece that for us, is the continuity of the Troika regime.
We propose that the candidates like Altamira who have travelled to Harvard in the midst of his electoral campaign, go to Athens.
The councilman Godoy member of PTS visited Greece months ago. We propose he goes now but this time in struggle for the freedom of the comrades in jail.
There is overabundance of conditions to organize an international campaign for the freedom of the Greek political prisoners. From the FLTI we would put all our forces from Africa and the Pacific to the American continent to organize common actions with all the currents that decide to give a step forward for the freedom of Nikos Romano and the Greek youth.
All the groups of FIT, especially, the brother party of PO in Greece EEK, propelled an international campaign for the non-prosecution of his leader Savvas Matsas. After the fascists of Golden Down denounced him, he was accused unfairly with a fabricated cause by the justice of the Troika regime. On August 29, 2013, all the groups that form the FIT marched towards the Greek embassy in Buenos Aires for the non-prosecution of their leader.  
We call on them to do those actions again, and all type of activities, demonstrations and stage sit-ins in all the Greek embassies in the world, and even petitions with millions of signatures of workers and worker organizations all around the world asking for the freedom of the prisoners in Greece and all the political prisoners and persecuted workers of the world like the Palestinian resistance-brutally tortured in the Mossad’s jails- like the Basque prisoners or for Las Heras oil workers  to conquer their freedom.
It is about, no less no more, that the government that speak in the name of workers and the Left stop from keeping in jail the young fighters of the Greek revolution. It is the FIT’s turn to speak. 
Immediate and unconditional freedom for Nikos Romanos, Yannis Michailidis, Andreas Bourzoukos, Dimitris Politis, Gerasimos Tsakalos, Panagiotis Argirou, Iraklis Kostaris, Nikos Maziotis, Savas Xiros, Christoulas Xiros and all the political prisoners!

Freedom for the over 4500 immigrant workers in detention in the concentration camps at the Greek-Turkish border!
